32 | CAMPFIRE SONG SONG

3RD PERSONS VIEW

"Yes! Finally! We finally sparked a fire." Mark clapped in glee, both hands on his hips as his eyes glimmered from the light of the ignited fire.

"Yay! We can roast marshmallows now!" Jisung nudged Chenle who nodded, holding the pack of marshmallows in his arms. "You go get the sticks, Jisung."

"Hey, Jeno? How are the tents?" Mark turned over to the boy who just finished setting up the last tent with Jaemin. Jeno gave him a thumbs up, "All set!"

"So, all we need to do is wait for the food team to come back with the cra—"

"YOOOO WE'RE BACK SHITFAM!" Lucas yelled out as he walked into the camp site carrying a crate with Xiaojun. The two gently placed the crate on the ground where the rest of their supplies were, letting out a heavy sigh come out of their mouths.

"Speaking of." Jaemin murmured.

"Hyung! We're going to roast marshmallows!" Jisung cheered excitingly, a wide grin plastered on his face while at it. Minjun chuckled, ruffling the young boy's hair at the cuteness. "Yeah, you go do that with Chenle."

"Shitfam." Donghyuck snorted before grabbing Minjun by the arm, pulling her with him to the tent. "What the fuck are y—"

"Shhh!!" Donghyuck hushed aggressively, pressing the palm of his hand over her mouth to shut her up. His eyes wide, he cleared his throat, "Okay look, we need to talk."

Minjun furrowed her brows, yanking his hand off her mouth before scooting away. "Talk about what? And you didn't have to drag me forcefully, you know?" Donghyuck waved his hand, smiling sheepishly, "Sorry 'bout that. Anyway, what's going on with you and Jaeshit? I mean- I know both of y'all bicker a lot but come on! It's going to ruin the whole mood of the camp week."

The girl sighed, her shoulders slumped forward, "Look, I know that and honestly? He's just moody. I hope he is. Tomorrow, he'll talk to me again, right?" Now she wasn't really sure about that. It had been around three days since they last talked to each other, though everyone was keeping quiet about it, it was sure different without the two of them arguing.

Donghyuck rolled his eyes, "Right, when is he not? Now, do you want to talk about it with me? Like, it has been three days, Min."

Minjun brought her knees closer to her upper body, hugging them with her arms. "Well, he just- I don't know... snapped? At me? Well, he's always moody so maybe that's that? Or- I don't know... He was- he mentioned Hendery..."

"Hendery?" Donghyuck repeated, emphasizing the name a bit more with his eyes growing wide like saucers. Why the fuck did that shitbro mention Hendery?

"Um... why though?" Donghyuck murmured, not wanting to jump into conclusions quick. He may or may have not thought that Jaeshit was most probably jealous over Hendery, but he wouldn't right? Maybe he was just annoyed...maybe.

"I don't know, dude. I probably just annoyed him. Either way, I'd rather just shrug it off."

"No. You're going to ruin the Shitrinity!"

"Now what the fuck is a Shitrinity?" Minjun deadpanned.

"That's me, you, and our moody buddy Jaeshit!"

"Cute. Not. Let's just go, Hyuck. He'll come around." Minjun stated and crawled out of the tent, a sigh leaving her lips.

"Who will come around?"

"HOLY– JENO!" Minjun yelled put of surprise, instinctively smacking the boy's arm out of defense. The said boy yelped, clutching the part where she hit him. "Oh fuck- I didn't mean to hit you- wait no. I BET IT DOESN'T EVEN HURT."

"Yeah, it doesn't." Jeno chuckled, dropping the feigned hurt expression he had on awhile ago. He rubbed his nape slowly, an eyebrow cocked up. "So, what were you talking about?" He then peeked into the tent seeing Donghyuck who gave him a cheeky smile.

"Hey there, Jenshit."

"Back at you, Shithyuck."

Minjun crossed her arms in front of her chest as Donghyuck also crawled out of the tent, wrapping an arm around her shoulder. "We were just having a bro-to-bro talk together, right?"

Minjun flashed a toothy grin, going with what Donghyuck had excused. "Yep! That's right."

Jeno chuckled at their weird behavior, knowing it was just probably nonsense. "Anyway, food is going to be ready in a few. We were just talking about what fun stuff we could do tonight."

Minjun scrunched her nose, now this is the dangerous part. "Don't y'all just want some sleep?"

Yangyang happened to hear her, "Boo! That's boring, Minjun! Of course we have to do something crazy."

"Like?" Renjun quipped.

"Let's go skinny dipping!" Jisung raised his hand and everyone either laughed at this or yelled a bunch of protests and questions onto how the hell did the young boy knew about that.

"WHO TOLD YOU THAT? I swear we're just going to talk." Minjun stared at him with a forced smile up her lips.

Jisung all eyed the weirdly, tilting his head a bit to the side. "Why? Is there something wrong with what I said? Donghyuck-hyung said it was just swimming in the lake!"

"DONGHYUCK! HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT?" Mark pointed a finger, glaring at the purple-haired boy. Donghyuck shot both of his hands up in a surrendering manner, eyes both wide again. "JISUNG! I TOLD YOU NOT TO MENTION MY NAME!"

"And for the record, skinny dipping sounds fun." He wriggled his eyebrows but then dropped it when he saw Minjun glaring at him. "On second thought, it's a bad idea."

"What is skinny dipping anyway?" Chenle poked Renjun's arm, asking for a translation when Xiaojun beat him to it.

"Going swimming." Xiaojun clarified in Mandarin.

"Oh? Then what's so wrong with that?"

"Naked." The older added and Chenle coughed harshly.

"WHAT THE HELL?!"

"You didn't let me finish." Xiaojun shrugged and Hendery sniggered, shaking his head.

"Okay, but for real? Don't y'all want to at least try? We could have lots of fun!" Lucas said and it was evident in his tone that he was eager to do it. "Plus, new experience."

Minjun shook her head, "I'm staying out on this one." She quickly said. "If ever y'all decide to run down the lake butt naked."

A few cheeks tinted pink as they realized the situation. Hendery laughed awkwardly, "Actually, let's change it from skinny dipping to just regular swimming."

"Boring!" Lucas called them out.

The darkened nights of summer was quite cold though comforting to these twelve teens. Laughter had erupted from their campsite either because of a lame ass joke or the group clowning someone like Xiaojun.

"LET'S SING SONGS!" Mark suggested and they all immediately agreed as they sat around the camp fire they built.

Lucas cleared his throat, raising his hand up in the air, "I call this one, the campfire song song!"

"Ain't the one from Spongebob?" Yangyang raised a brow but was abruptly hushed by Lucas.

"LET'S GATHER 'ROUND THE CAMPFIRE AND SING OUR CAMPFIRE SONG!"

A few boys started to join in, even Minjun clapped along with them. "OUR C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E S-O-N-G SONG!"

"AND IF YOU DON'T THINK WE CAN SING IT FASTER THEN YOU'RE WRONG! BUT IT'LL IF YOU JUST SING ALONGGG!!"

"Bum, bum, buuum." Jisung added, deepening his voice.

"C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E S-O-N-G song! C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E S-O-N-G song! And if you don't think that we can sing it faster then you're wrong. But it'll help if you just sing along~" They began to pick up the pace and by now, everyone, except a certain blueberry, was singing along.

"C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E S-O-N-G song!" Lucas pointed at Hendery who followed. "Song C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E!"

Lucas turned to Jaemin, "Now, Jaemin!"

Minjun glanced at the certain boy who only stared at Lucas' pointing finger, not bothering to sing along. She snorted, shaking her head at his ignorance.

"Good, it'll help, it'll help! If you just sing along!"

As the song ended, everyone laughed at their little jam session before proceeding to sing some more. Renjun groaned, "Why do you always sing sad songs, Xiao! Are you emo or something?"

Xiaojun scoffed in disbelief, "I'm not emo- I just like sad songs. It prepares me for any incoming drama." Unknown to the girl, he had stared at her for a little while. "And for your information, if I were to be emo, it's because Yangyang keep taking away my Lao Gan Ma."

"For health purposes!"

"It's just a complementary to food!"

"Still!"

Minjun chuckled, watching the two bicker again before staring right back at the bonfire. "Geez, the night is cold out in the woods, huh?" She mumbled and as if on cue, a blanket draped right on top of her, almost masking her whole upper body.

"Here."

Bewildered, Minjun pulled down the blanket and looked at who the culprit was. "Jeno?"

"Hey, Min." The boy smiled at her and sat down beside her. "So, what's up? You seem a bit... distracted."

She shrugged, placing the blanket on her lap. "Do I? I'm just... thinking. That's all."

"Don't think too much, alright? It'll hurt that brain of yours. If you even have one."

"Hey! I have one!" Minjun huffed, lightly punching his arm. "Do remember I won the paintball game!"

"Yeah, by jumping Hendery." He snorted, rolling his eyes. "Really now?"

"It worked."

"It surely did." Jeno chuckled, beaming at her. "I was wondering... if you know- if you wanted to go on a walk with me first thing in the morning tomorrow?"

Minjun thought about it before agreeing. "Sure, but it depends if I wake up early. I'm not a morning person."

Jeno nodded, "Noted. I'll make sure to wake you up then, if that's fine with you." He anticipated for the reaction Minjun was going to give him. He had decided to clear his mind and his heart during this camp out in the woods, he thought it would be a good idea to sort it all out. He needed to know if he truly like his cabin-mate.

"Yeah, of course that's fine with me, Jeno."

"Great! That'll be our little thing, just us. Okay, Minjun?"

"Of course, Jeno." She grinned and he stood up, "Alright then, looking forward to it, dude."

Then realization hit Minjun. He still has no idea.
