13 | I SACRIFICE JENO-HYUNG
3RD PERSONS VIEW
"Hyung, you won't leave me alone right?" Jisung asked for the umpteenth time already, clinging onto Jeno's arm tightly as they walked down the path.
Jeno sighed, "I told you already that I won't, Jisung-ah. You don't have to cling onto me like a koala."
Jisung shook his head, his grip around the older's arm tightening, "No."
Jeno deadpanned and let the young boy do what he wants. When they realized they separated from the group, Jeno had to tame a panicking Jisung. Now, they were still following the path, casually looking left and right to see if there were any signs of their cabin mates or the flag.
"Are we lost?" Jisung questioned softly, eyes cautiously looking here and there.
Jeno hummed simply before shaking his head, "I don't think so- we're still on the path anyways."
"Do you think they are fine? Omg...what if they got eaten by some creature? What if a snake is on the loose- or maybe a tiger!"
Jeno scrunched his nose, stifling a laugh in, "There aren't any tigers here, Jisung. And I'm pretty sure they didn't get eaten either."
Jisung sighed in relief, "How about Minjun-hyung? Do you think he's fine?"
Jeno raised an eyebrow knowingly, a smug grin on his face, "You like Minjun so much don't you?"
Cheeks flushing red, Jisung loosened his grip on the older and vigorously waved his hands in front of him, "What!? No! I don't like him like that- I just, he's nice and very caring okay?"
The older boy sniggered, "I never said anything like that, Jisung. But yeah, Minjun does seem caring- but..."
"But?" Jisung turns to him with an arched eyebrow. "But what?"
Jeno shook his head, "Nothing- never mind."
A whine left the younger's lips, playfully smacking Jeno's arm, "Ah, Hyung! Don't be like that- you're making me curious!"
Jeno let out a heartfelt laugh, the sound reverberated into Jisung's ears as he grinned. "I swear, it's nothing, Jisung."
It went quiet for a few minutes until Jisung flinched at a screeching noise. His body jerking back as he yanked the older with him, securing his hands on Jeno's shoulder as he pushed him forward, as if to use him as a some sort of shield.
"WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?! WAS IT AN EAGLE? GOOD GRACIOUS TAKE JENO-HYUNG INSTEAD!"
"Are you seriously using me as sacrifice!?" Jeno yelled out in disbelief, glancing back at the frightened boy.
"Obviously!"
Jeno feigned a hurt look before flinching at the next screeching outburst. "What the he—"
"For fucks sake, Zhong Chenle stop screeching!" they heard a familiar voice exclaim from nearby.
Jisung's ears perked up at the mention of a friend's name, "Chenle?"
The screeching had stopped and the sounds of leaves being crushed and stepped on surfaced. Loud rustling came from one of the bushes making the two hug each other, until a few boys came into view.
"Chenle?"
"Jisung?"
"Renjun!"
"Oh, Jeno."
"Lucas!" all heads turned towards the tall boy who grinned innocently, a hand outstretched upwards. His gaze fell on them and he tilted his head, "What? I thought we were doing roll call?"
Yangyang shook his head, biting down his lip to suppress the urge to laugh.
Hendery peered over Xiaojun's shoulder, taking a look of what the latter was holding dearly in his grasp. "Are those wild berries?"
"No." Xiaojun quickly said, shoving the berries into his pocket hastily. "You saw nothing."
Hendery rolled his eyes, "Okay- let me just erase that image in my brain for a sec. Brain said it's invalid to delete the image- now tell me, what are the damn berries for?"
Xiaojun huffed and pulled Hendery by his collar, leaning in to the latter's ear before whispering, "Don't tell Yangyang- it's for my new food combination."
Hendery blinked repeatedly before scrunching his face weirdly, "Xiao, I don't know what goes on in that mind."
Xiaojun simply smiled back, patting Hendery's shoulder, "Amazing things, Hendery. Amazing things."
"Hey look, it's Minjun and that other blue-haired guy." Xiaojun pointed out, immediately catching Jeno and Jisung's attention.
"Minjun-hyung!?" Jisung abruptly said, eyes scanning around the area.
Everyone averted their gaze onto Xiaojun who laughed, "Not actually them- I meant blueberries."
Renjun facepalmed and shook his head head, "Speaking of- where are your cabin mates?"
Jeno sheepishly smiled, rubbing his nape slowly, "Well, you see, we lost them on our way to find our cabin flag. So it's just me and Jisung."
"But Mark's over there." Lucas points at a direction, seeing the Canadian boy frantically searching for his cabin mates.
"Okay- scratch that. Me, Jisung, and Mark." Jeno rephrased before calling out for the older's attention, "Mark-hyung! We're over here!"
The said boy turned around, a wave of relief wash over him as he noticed his cabin mates and a few of familiar faced. "Guys! Thank God! I thought I lost everyone!"
"Wait- where's Minjun, Donghyuck, and Jaemin?" he pauses, noticing their absence.
Everyone shrugged their shoulders, not knowing where the trio were to be found. "We don't know."
"Guys, it's getting dark, we need to go back to the campsite." Yangyang reminded them.
"But, what about the others?" Chenle asked, Jisung agreeing with him.
"Yeah, who knows where they could be."
"Actually, Donghyuck's with them right?" Mark looks over at Jeno who nodded. Mark sighed, "Yeah, let's head back. I'm pretty sure Donghyuck will find the path back to the campsite."
"Are you sure, Hyung?" Jisung frowned, still anxious about their current situation.
Mark hummed in response, wrapping an arm on both of the young one's shoulders, assuring them that everything will be okay. "Don't worry, Donghyuck has roamed the forest every camp year."
"Now let's get back."
"Aye aye captain!"
