09 | UNHEALTHY OBSESSION

3RD PERSONS VIEW

"Can't you hurry up?!" Minjun sighed heavily, growing impatient as time passed. "We're going to be late for breakfast!"

"Then go without me, Minshit."

Minjun raised a brow before huffing, "Fine. Your loss." she closed the door and walked down from the front porch, two familiar boys greeting her as she did.

"Oh, Yangyang and Hendery, right?" Minjun points out and they nodded sending her a bright smile.

"Is he Minjun?" a silver-ish haired boy peeped from behind Yangyang, a red jar in one of his hands as the other pointed out at the standing girl.

Yangyang nodded curtly. Xiaojun bowed his head slightly, "I'm Xiao Dejun, but you can call me Xiaojun instead, or Dejun, whatever you're comfortable with."

The blonde-haired boy soon noticed the jar and immediately snatched it away from Xiaojun, "What the hell? I thought I already took your Lao Gan Ma last night?"

Xiaojun pouted for a bit before grinning, "You can never have too many jars of Lao Gan Ma!"

Hendery wrapped his arm around Minjun's shoulder before pulling him close as Hendery cupped a hand around his mouth to muffle his voice, "Dejun has a thing for weird food combinations and one of his prized possessions is his Lao Gan Ma."

"Lao Gan Ma?" Minjun cocked a brow up, finding the name quite familiar but she couldn't really pinpoint where she had encountered the Chinese sauce, probably in her Mom's kitchen was her first thought.

"What do you think we will do for today?" Hendery questioned, trying to overpower the argument Yangyang and Xiaojun were having at the back about the Chinese sauce.

"I don't really have an idea," Minjun replied, shrugging her shoulders as they walk to the dining hall.

"I hope we get to do some sports and games– do you have a favorite sport?"

Does scrolling through my phone for hours considered a sport? Minjun thought to herself before flashing him a sheepish smile, "I'm not really the athletic type."

That earned her a snort from Hendery, "Even Basketball?"

I hate physical education.

"Yeah, no." she shrugged as Hendery laughed.

"I guess I'll have to see you play soon then. Hope we could be teammates if ever– well, if not, then I'll be happy to be your opponent." he grinned widely making Minjun only smile back in return, trying to hide the panic rising in her.

Please no. I don't like running. "Yeah- me too."

As it was about to get awkward, thankfully the bell had rung loudly, interrupting their conversation. Minjun sighed in relief, happy that the bell was there to save her. "Do you want to join our table, Minjun?" Hendery questioned and before she could even reply, she already got dragged into the dining hall.

"Looks like I didn't have a choice anyway," she uttered out, eyeing Hendery who sheepishly smiled at her before pushing her towards the table consisting of his Chinese friends.

"Hey, it's Minjun!" Chenle pointed out, a cheeky grin plastered on his face before nudging the older boy beside him which was Renjun.

"Oh, Minjun!" his eyes trailed over to Hendery before deadpanning, "Hendery, Yangyang, and Xiaojun," he mumbled. "Aren't you supposed to be over there?" he points over at a table not too far yet not close to theirs either. At that table seen were Minjun's cabin mates, well, except Jaeshit of course.

"Well, Huang. Seems like your friend dragged me to seat here." Minjun replied sarcastically, glancing over at the taller boy who avoided her eye contact.

"Guys! Guys! Should I keep the leftover bones?" Lucas clapped for their attention, pointing down consistently at their food which was fried chicken.

"For what?" Yangyang raised a brow, taking a seat beside Renjun.

Lucas rolled his eyes playfully, "For Bella, duh."

Hendery scooted over, patting down the seat beside him. Although reluctantly, Minjun decided to just join them anyways.

"Who's Bella?" she blurted out resulting in Lucas to gasp and shoot a dramatic look towards her.

"Bella is my one and only dog! And those evil staffs took her away from me." he fake cried, blowing into his tissue.

"He's Lucas- or Yukhei- or Xuxi. Whichever you prefer." Yangyang shrugged his shoulders before giving Lucas a judging face. Shaking his head, not wanting to even bother the older, his eyes fell onto Xiaojun who was now scooping a heaping spoonful of Lao Gan Ma.

Mouth dropping open as he watched him spread the sauce on top of the fried chicken. "Are you serious right now?"

Xiaojun looked up, blinking for a few times before nodding, "Yeah, why?"

"I- You seriously have an unhealthy obsession with that sauce."

"No, I don't."

"Yes, you do."

"I don't."

"You do."

"I don't."

"You do."

"..."

"I–"

"You do."

Xiaojun scoffed before turning towards Minjun who was peacefully minding her own business until the boy tapped her shoulder.

Shit, don't tell me he's going to ask me to taste it? She thought nervously before looking up slowly, "What?"

Xiaojun held up his spoon in front of her, "Want to try?"

Yangyang scrunched his face, "Okay- He doesn't want to try—"

"Shhh- let him be the judge!" Xiaojun interjected before inching the spoon closer to the girl. "Please?"

Minjun sighed heavily before taking the spoon and plopping it into her mouth, tasting the weird yet good combination of whatever Xiaojun had mixed together. Eyes widening, her jaw moving as she chewed down the food.

"Well?"

"It tastes good..."

"Hah! See? It tastes better than what you see!"

Yangyang crossed his arms, his gaze boring onto the jar of Chinese sauce, thinking of ways how to stop Xiaojun's weird food combinations that all began with the red sauce.

I better hide that jar.
