The way of life (2)
Andrew was sitting on the ground.
He was staring blankly at the numerous colourful flowers on the field. He had always admired their beauty; in all times seemingly equally as breathtaking as the days before, that is until they start to slowly fade.
Everything comes and goes. That's life, the unforgiving reality he was forced into.
The flowers grow and grow. Some of them are captivating, they are the ones you can't seem to look away from. You want them in your hand, probably in a bouquet, or maybe to look at them forever. Those are the ones that die the earliest. People can't keep their hands to themselves, so they pick them out of all the others. They take and put them in a vase somewhere in their house. As days pass, the flowers' time is running out, all while the one who was responsible for that watches them in fascination.
It's the way life is. It's always the good ones that get to leave sooner that they should.
And that was what Andrew found unfair. He had seen the consequences of this; the consequences that mainly left him in this pitiful situation.
Alone, lost, grieving, he was forced to get through it all. It was so not fair; not fair he lost somebody dear to him, not fair he was suffering from the said person's decisions.
He was fed up with life at the mere age of sixteen. He was desperate to get back in time to fix it, but it wasn't his fault. No matter how many people told him so, he knew the truth. And the truth was he couldn't have done anything to prevent the misfortune.
Even then, he was stuck on that damn field with no direction, no hopes, no will to move forward.
