Chapter 19: A Lesson Learned

Andrea's POV:
After my headache goes away, we arrived back to the mirror chamber, Crowley looks really shocked when he saw the magic crystal in my hand. "Eh!? You really went to the Dwarfs' mine to find a magic crystal?" "Huh!?" "Say what now?" I asked with an arc eyebrow. "I really didn't think... You'd not only go but come back with a crystal in hand. I quietly completed the paperwork for your expulsion." He explained, "Wait a minute! Are you saying that we went through all that trouble to get this stupid crystal to you for nothing!? Are you kidding me?!" I said in anger. "Nnga! The nerve of this guy! While we were off fighting some monster!" Grim said in anger. "Monster?" "There was a monster there! It was super gross and crazy strong, it was awful!" Ace shouted, "Could you explain in more detail?" "This is gonna take a while." I thought.

Once we arrived at the headmaster's office, we explained everything that happened at the mine. He looks really surprised, but he looked even more surprised when he heard of me getting the three dummies to work together to get the crystal and that my magic's been unlocked. "Hoh hoohh. A mysterious monster living in the coal mine. Not only the four of you worked together to defeat it and bring back the magic crystal, but during the battle, Ms. Williams's magic has been unlocked?" "We didn't really work together..." Ace mumbled, "It was more like our goal were aligned..." Deuce answered, I rolled my eyes at them and said, "Yes, headmaster. That's what happened." The next thing I knew, Crowley is crying like crazy!

"Ooh.. Oooooooh.... OOOOOOHHHHH!!!! OOOOOHHHHH!!!" "What the hell?!" I was so taken back at what's just happened in front of me! "What's with this guy? Why is an adult bursting into tears!?" Grim, who is way too weirded out like I am, asked, "For the day to come that students from Night Raven College go hand in hand to fave and defeat their enemy!" He cried, "What!? I did not hold this guy's hand!" Deuce yelled as he scooted away from Ace as I burst out laughing, "I would never do that, gross! But headmaster, how old are you!?" Ace asked, "And why are you laughing, Andie-san!?" Deuce asked as I finished laughing, "You idiots, he didn't mean you were actually holding hands. He means that you were able to work together to beat that monster back at the mine."

"I am overwhelmed with emotion. This incident confirms it." Crowley look at me once he wiped his tears away. "Ms. Williams. Without a doubt, you have a talent as a beast tamer!" He smiled, "A what now!?" "A beast tamer?!" I gasped, "Yes! And a beast tamer with magic no less! I must know what kind of magic it is now that you have unlocked it!" Well, I might as well show him. I lifted up my hand and burst out a lot of snowflakes, I held out my hand and to my surprise, a blast came out and created a pile of snow. I quickly moved my hand to the right and the snow desolved into the air. I step on the ground, and it quickly turned to ice. "Whoa!" Ace and Deuce quickly catch their balance as Crowly looked amazed. I moved my hands again and the ice disappeared.

"Incredible." Crowley said, "In all my years of magic, I have never seen anything quite like this! You are a beast tamer with a magical ability to created ice and snow!" Crowley said, "But how did you unlock your magic?" "That's the thing." I took out my necklace from my pocket and held it out. "It's my necklace. I found out this is the reason why my magic's been sealed away." "Your necklace?" "Andie-san told us that her mom gave her that necklace when she was a kid, but Andie-san didn't know that the necklace has a magical seal to lock her magic away." Deuce explained as Crowley took my necklace.

"Interesting. Now that your necklace is off, I can sense powerful magic on it. But how in the world did your mother get her hands on it?" Crowley asked, "I honestly don't know, sir." I shrugged, "She just gave it to me one day and I've been wearing it ever since. And every time I asked her where she got the necklace, she didn't say anything. She would either drop it or changed the subject." I explained, "Hmmm, very interesting." Crowley said with his hand on his chin, "If you like, I can remove the spell off your necklace, so you won't have to worry about it trying to seal your magic away again once you wear it." Crowley offered. I feel my lips going upward. "Really? Can you do that?" "Of course! For I am gracious. I will return your necklace to you in the morning." Crowley said as he placed my necklace on his desk.

"But back to the conversation. The students of Night Raven College are bidding wizards called here by the Dark Mirror. However, they are of a superior class that makes them prideful and egotistical people that have not even the slightest inking to work with others. Making many of them selfish and self-centered." "You're really not saying anything good." Grim commented, "Well, he's not wrong about that." I said, raising an eyebrow at a certain guy with a red heart on his face. "Since you unlocked your magic, not only you can create ice and snow, but you can give instructions to wizards and get them to cooperate. Perhaps that mediocrity is exactly what this school needs right now!" "He's really not saying anything nice, is he!?" Ace shouted, dumbfounded. "I have no doubt that your existence is essential to the future of this academy. So says my educator-senses."

"Trappola. Spade. Along with rescinding your expulsion, I shall give you, Ms. Williams, the qualifications to attend Night Raven College as a student!" "Eeh!?" Ace, Deuce and Grim shouted as I jawdropped the moment I heard those words coming from Crowley. "As a student!? Even though I'm a girl?! Really!?" I said, making sure what I heard is right, "Yes. For I am exceedingly gracious. And no need to worry, because there's actually a special program in this school that allows girls to attend here, but there hasn't been a female student since the last group of female students graduated three years ago, so you have nothing to worry about." Oh, so that's what he means back at the entrance ceremony.

"But there is one condition. Even though you unlocked your magic, you are still inexperienced with it and still need to learn to control it. Especially since your magic is even more connected to your emotions than ours does, which means you must learn to keep it under control." Well, he's not wrong. After what happened with Elsa in the Frozen movies, I knew that unless I accidentally turn this school into an eternal winter or accidentally freeze someone's heart, I have to learn to control it. I glanced at Grim and remembered how much he wants to go to this school, it's only fair what I'm about to ask is right.

"But if it's all right headmaster, I also have one condition." I said, "Yes?" "I want Grim to come to Night Raven College as a student with me." I said, crossing my arms. "Eeh?!" Ace, Deuce, and Crowley look at me surprised while Grim looked at me in shock. "Andie..." "Even though I did unlock my magic, I don't know anything about this school, let alone the dormitories here, and if what you say about the students here are true, despite having magic themselves and allowing girls to attend here because of the special program, they'll might use me and my magic for themselves. And even though I trust Ace and Deuce since they're the only ones besides you and Grim knew I have magic; I don't want anyone in this school to know that I have magic and give them the impression that my magic is still sealed away. At least until I can trust them." I spoke.

"Hmmm." Crowley began to think and after a few moments, he said, "Very well. Besides, Grim has proven to me that he possesses enough talent to become a wizard. Therefore, I shall allow the two of you to enroll together as one student." "Ffgna!? I... I can go to this academy too...? Not as a handyman, but as a student?" Grim asked with a ecstatic tone. "Yes. Provided that! You don't ever let an incident like yesterday occur again! Do we have an agreement?" "Ffgnaa... Fffnaa... We-we can..." Grim looks like he's on the urge of crying with tears of joy. I smiled at the little furball, "Looks like you got your wish after all, Grim. Let's do our best." "Ffgnnaaaaa!! I did it!!" Grim then quickly ran towards me and jumps into my arms to give me a hug, "Thank you Andie! Thank you!" I hugged him back while petting his head. "Well then, I shall give the symbol of your status as a student of Night Raven College, a magic crystal, to Grim." Crowley said as a light purple crystal appear on Grim's collar.

"Woah! A magic crystal?" Grim stares at it in awe. "It is the norm for students to have their magic crystal in the form of a "magic pen" but, you wouldn't be able to grip it in your paws, right? It's a special custom. Aaah... I pay attention to even the smallest details! Aren't I too gracious?" Crowley smiled, "I did it!! I'm so cool! I got my own special magic crystal collar~~" Grim gushed, "He's not even listening at all..." Crowley muttered, "No, he's not." I sighed as I rolled my eyes. "Ms. Williams, as you are already aware, Grim is not accustomed to him an society. It's up to you to take the twin and supervise him to prevent from causing anymore trouble! Do you understand?" "Crystal, sir. I'll make sure he behaves." I said, giving Grim a threatening smirk, causing him to flinch. "Uhh... Y-Yeah... Sure..." He stutters.

"Aha! Look at you. School's just started but you're already a supervisor?" Ace grins as he put his arm around my shoulder, "I see. There's only the two of you in your dorm... So if you've been entrusted with supervising Grim, that makes you a supervisor." Deuce smiles, "Pufft... Isn't that unheard of? For there to be a supervisor student who has magic to create ice and snow." "Is that a good thing?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. "Of course, it is!" Ace assures me, "It's cool. Pun intended." I rolled my eyes with a smile. "It's nice. A supervisor student who has magic to create ice and snow!" He said as I smirked at his response. "In that case, I'll do my best!" I answer with a smile. "Ahaha. Good luck, Supervisor!" Ace cheered.

I turned to Crowley who has his hand under his chin. "What is he thinking about now?" I thought curiously. "I see, a supervisor. I do have a work request, and having a title makes it very convenient... This is wonderful!" Crowley opened a drawer from his desk and pulls something out as he said, "Supervisor. I entrust you with this." He handed me what it looks like a camera.

"This is nicknamed the "ghost camera"." "Ghost camera?" "Why's it called that?" I wonder as I look at the camera curiously. "Ah, I think my grandma told me about that. It's a super old magic tool, right?" Ace said, "It is not "super old"..." Crowley clear his throat when he said this, "It's true this may have been invented during your great grandmother's, or great great grandmother's time. There is a very special spell cast on it. It not only captures the subjects' form, but also a part of their soul." "A part of their soul...?" Deuce asked as I raised my eyebrow in confusion.

"We call this "Memory: A Fragment of Remembrance". Furthermore, the most interesting part of this magic camera is that the souls of the photographer and the photographed become deeply connected and the Memory in the photo comes jumping out!" Souls are connected. And the photos come out? "Depending on how close the subject and photographer are the picture could move like a video or bring to life the situation in the photo. Fascinating, right?" "Bring the photo to life? It's like a ghost photograph!" Deuce said, "Yes. Therefore, it is called a "ghost camera"." "No wonder it's called that." I spoke.

"They say it was made before the time of videos for when people wanted to leave behind vivid memories... Spade was correct, in the past, people would scream "ghost!" in surprise when the memory came jumping out. They were paralyzed with fear at the thought of having a photo taken with this camera." "A camera for freaking people out..." Ace muttered, "Supervisor. Please take photos of Grim and the other students to leave behind many memories of your lives in this academy." "La-lalala. Take lots of cool photos of me~" Grim sang as he danced happily.

"...Especially, always make sure to get "Memories" when someone steps out of line. It's a most suitable way to report to me, right? Keep an eye on your surroundings and take memories as the supervisor. To generously give you a rare item that can be used by a rare magican... Does my graciousness know no bounds?" He smiled. I gazed at the ghost camera in curiosity, "I'll try it out. Thank you, headmaster." I said with a smile. "And don't you worry about your school uniforms, Ms. Williams. I will send you your female uniforms, along with your PE uniforms, lab coats, school supplies and your magic pen to your dormitory with your necklace first thing in the morning." I nodded. "It is already late. Let's save the detailed conversation for tomorrow. Return to your dormitories, everyone." "Goodnight, sir." Deuce said and we all leave the office. Today has been a long day.
