Chapter 17: A Rule Slip
3rd Person's POV:
For a moment, a heavy silence descended upon the tea garden as everyone stared at their dorm leader with shock and fear on their faces, some of Heartslabyul students are even trembling. "Wait just a moment! You really have dumbass rules like that?!" Ace angrily shouted at Riddle. Why can't he just accept the freakin' tart?! He worked his ass off to bake it and to see him just throw it like it was garbage without hesitation had just pissed him off. Of course, he was furious with Riddle from the very beginning, and the waste of the tart was the setting point. "Yeah! I'll eat up if you're just gonna toss it!" Grim shouted, angry at him for wasting food more than anything else. Normally Andie would shut him up, but for some reason, she's not moving or talking, she's just standing there. What is also unexpected is that Andie is trembling, not with just anger, but also with a hint of fear. But it was not directly at Riddle. When the dessert splattering on the grass and the plates and teacups crashed, Andie flinched from the sound and began to breath shallowly as a memory flashed in her mind.

"That looks good Andie." Bryan said. He, Andie, Bobby, Joey and Matt are in the cafeteria, sitting on the table in the very back as they all ate lunch. While the boys just eat the cafeteria food, Andie decided to eat the lunch she made from her house. She's eating a some cooked salmon, strawberry yogurt and fresh grapes. "Thanks, I wanted to eat some food from my house since I got a little bored eating the food here." Andie said as she and the boys finished half of their food.
Before they can finish their food however, a basketball slam into their table, slapping almost all their food off the table and they were spilled on the ground. They heard laughing and they turn to see Tracy, her boyfriend Brad and some of their friends laughing at them. The five best friends all glares at them, got up and storm up to them as Bobby grab the basketball. "What the fuck was that for?!" Andie yelled, causing everyone in the cafeteria to turn to the group. Some of the students even left the cafeteria as fast as they could, knowing what's about to happen as a few of them ran to get some help from the Campus Supervisors.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I was trying to show my friends some moves for the game tonight, but I just shot the ball the wrong way." Tracy said with an evil smile, "Well, that was a pretty stupid move. If your suppose to be in the basketball team, then you should practice by going to the basketball court at the P.E area, not throwing it at us here in the cafeteria!" Joey yelled, "Yeah, and because of you assholes, you just ruined our food!" Bobby yelled, pissed that they spilled their food on the floor.
"Oh, was that all? Well, today is Thursday, and it's bad luck to have fish before the game starts. If you eat it before the game, is asking youself to get sick." Billy, one of Brad's friends, said, Andie and the guys stares at them in disbelief, "WHAT KIND OF A STUPID RULE IS THAT?!?!" They yelled, neither of them couldn't believe what they're hearing, "We're not even in the basketball team and you threw our food away all because of that?!" Matt yelled, "Well, that, and the fact seeing you guys eating fish makes us sick," Chris, one of Tracy's friends, said as they all smiled evilly at them.
"Well, rule or not, it makes US sick is that you guys are in the basketball team and how you guys play SUCKS BALLS! How you people are even in that team in the first place is beyond us!" Bryan yelled. Tracy, Brad and their friends got up and stood in front of Andie and her friends as Tracy said, "Oh really? Then allow us to get you all more food. Here, have some knuckle sandwich!" Tracy tries to punch Andie, but Andie avoids it and punches Tracy in the eye, no doubt it's gonna leave a black eye later. While this happened, Bobby threw the basketball as it smacks Billy right in the face, knocking him to the ground.
Soon, every student got out of the way as the groups began to have a food fight, with some punches left and right, spilling food on each other's faces. Tracy pins Andie on one of the tables and manages to stab Andie on her upper arm with a spork, causing Andie to yelp from the pain. Andie quickly spotted a carton of milk that was opened, grabbed it and smashed it in Tracy's face, along with a splash of milk from the carton. While Tracy tries to wipe the milk off her face, Andie kicks her off of her and pulled the spork out of her arm.
She tackles Tracy to the floor and uses the spork to stab Tracy's arm, causing her to yell in pain as well. Before the fight can continue, it was cut off when some campus supervisors came bursting into the cafeteria after some students told them what's going on and stop the food fight, separating the two groups. "ALRIGHT! ALRIGHT! THAT'S ENOUGH!" Norman yelled as he held Andie as another supervisor, Ivan, held Tracy, "You kids are going to kill each other!" Martha yelled as she and the other supervisors held Andie and Tracy's friends, "But they started it!" Bobby yelled as Tracy pulls the spork out of her shoulder, "We don't care who started it, we are ending it! We're taking you all to the nurse's office and then sending you all to the principal's office." Norman said and the supervisors took the two groups out of the cafeteria.

Andie was brought back to reality as Cater and Trey quickly ran over to them and stood in between the teens and their Dorm Leader. "My deepest apologies, Dorm Leader. I was the one who said we should make a chestnut tart." Trey tells Riddle. "Yeah yeah. I didn't think there would be a rule for something like that." Cater said, aiding Trey in defending their juniors. "Making it isn't the problem here. The fact that you brought it here! Now, today is the problem!" Riddle shouted. That last part made Andie's blood boil, "We worked our asses off to make that stupid tart for him, and now that little brat wants to throw it away because of that stupid rule!?" "And we're just gonna ignore the fact that we help Ace make this stupid tart for you just so you can throw it away because of fucking rule?!?" Andie growled as she glares at him before shouting out in anger, "Anyone who follows that kind of rule is an idiot!" Riddle raised his eyebrow and glares at the platinum blonde.
"An idiot... you say?" Andie stepped forwards, glaring back at Riddle and said, "You fucking heard me!" Cater, looking panicked, grabbed Andie's shoulder and shouted, "Wait, stop! That word is taboo." But Andie gave a sharp turn and looked at Cater with eyes gleaming and sending a cold silent message that says, 'BACK OFF!'. Cater gulped and quickly removed his hands from the girl's shoulder and nervously backed up a bit. Andie then glares back at Riddle as Cater quickly shakes off his fear to try and pacify the situation as he says, "And Riddle, these are freshmen that are still learning the ropes." "No, she's right and I'm gonna say it too." Ace said stepping forward next to Andie, "Anyone who obeys that rule and tosses the tart is an idiot!" Deuce also approached the group and says, "I agree with Ace and Andie-san. I think that rules are meant to be followed but... This is too arbitrary." His patience for Riddle's behavior reached its limits and was going to sit by and allow this madness. "Exactly," Andie said, "I don't like those kinds of rules that will stop a person from being themselves."
Riddle, not pleased with their defiance, looked at all of them angrily as he growls out, "You've got quite the nerve, talking back to me. Listen well. Even breaking insignificant rules heads to huge problems." "Even so..." Andie said in a firm voice, "Forcing others to follow blindly with these rules is the same as imprisoning one's own freedom. It's not right." Ace nodded and said, "The other residents are afraid of getting their magic sealed so they don't speak up but I'm sure they feel the same!" All of the freshmen and upperclassmen, paled white as sheets, looked at the other residents, they looked nervous and sweating as they stared at the scene in front of them. Some were shaking their heads. Some were trembling. One student was brave enough to speak against Ace's claims, "Ah no, we..." Riddle looked at them coldly and crossed his arms, "Huuh, is that so?" He darkly questioned, the residents gulped, and one student quickly said, "Not at all, Dorm Leader!" "Everything is based on your judgment!" Another cried out.
"Those guys...!" Grim exclaimed. Ace, one the other hand, stared at his dormmates in complete disappointment, "Tsk... Wishy washy jerks. Lame." "Oh, bullshit! You all are just saying that because you're afraid to get your magic sealed away!" Andie said to all the dorm members before turn back to Riddle with a glare, "Which, by the way, I don't blame them." "Although, it's a good thing Ace, Deuce, Grim and the Headmaster are the only ones who knew I actually have magic, otherwise, Riddle would've sealed mine away too." Andie thought. "In the year that I've been Dorm Leader, there hasn't been a single student held back or expelled from Heartslabyul Dorm. Only Heartslabyul can say that. In this dorm, I am the one with the highest marks and the strongest. That makes me the most correct! So, all you have to do is follow my rules without talking back!" Riddle tells them, his tone gradually shifts from calming to controlled anger. Deuce gasped in shock at what Riddle just said, "That's..." "I'm not cutting off your heads because I want to. You keep breaking the rules and leave me no choice." Riddle said to them.
Trey had fallen silent and he stood back. He lowered his gaze, turning away from Riddle. He then looked directly at Andie as he added, "You, Andrea, should try to take this as a valuable advice. Seeing as yourself is claiming to be the dorm leader also, you should try to apply strictness and discipline, that is the ONLY way your dorm will achieve anything." Andie narrowed her eyes, she had to control every ounce of herself as she tightened her fists even further to the point her nails are slowly digging in the palms. Riddle then turned and looked at both Ace and Deuce as he said, "As for you two, if you won't obey me, then it's off with all your heads!" The latter shouted at them. Cater turned the group and looked at them with slight pleading eyes. "Now, everyone just say, "Yes, Dorm Leader!"." He said, "... I can't do that." Deuce said, "This selfish tyrant, I reject him!" Ace shouted, openly speaking out his disdain for his Dorm Leader's cruel and hateful behaviour.
"Over my dead body! You know what, fuck all the rules in this damn dormitory!" Andie yelled, everyone in the dorm gasped at what the platinum blonde just said, it strikes a nerve on Riddle as he narrowed his glare at Andie and coldly questioned, "What did you just say?" Unfortunately, Grim had to open in his big mouth and shouted, "We're saying you're a hot-headed tyrant that wastes food for his own selfish whims!" "W-whoa now, we didn't say all that..." Deuce gasped out looking startled at what Grim said. However that seem to do it as Riddle takes out his Magic Staff and cries out,
"OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!"
In a flash, both Grim and Deuce were now collared. "Guys!" Andie yelled in shock, "Geeeeeh! It's this damn collar again!" Grim cried out. Deuce gripped the ends of the collar and pulled at it with his all his strength, trying to break it off. But no matter how hard he pulled, it refused to budge. "Crap, it won't come off!" Deuce said. Andie looked at her friends in shock before turning to face Riddle and starting to march towards the red-head. She was already crackly her fists and ready to beat the living crap out of him when Trey stepped in front of her, silently shaking his head and giving her a pleading look only whispering, "Please... calm down, Andrea."
The platinum blonde looked at him in shock and was about to lash out before hearing Riddle cry out, "Trey, Cater! Throw them out!" The two seniors took a step back as they stared at him. They were hesitant in their next actions. This wasn't how it was supposed to happen. This wasn't what Trey had hoped. They wanted to say something, say anything that could prevent this. But...they couldn't. No words could quell him. Nothing could pacify his anger. All there's to do is just submit and obey. "..........Yes, Dorm Leader." Trey and Cater said in a soft tone. The group stared up at the two in shock, not believing any of this. "Wha-what're you?" Deuce asked looking at his senpais in disbelief. "So sorry, but we don't go against the Dorm Leader." Cater said, his smile not reaching his eyes. More so, his smile was more strained and apologetic. He didn't want to do this.
And no one expressed that more than Trey. He refused to do this. He didn't want to hurt them. But there was no way he could go against Riddle. "I'm sorry..." Trey said looking just as regretful. Ace now looked pissed and took a fighting stance as he cried out, "Aaaah. That so! Come at me!" He bravely, or foolishly rushed at Trey trying to score a punch, but Trey dodged it and kicked at Ace's foot. Causing him to lose his balance and Trey judo flipping him to the ground. Deuce tries to fight against Cater as well, but it was all pointless. Andie was ready to rush in to help her friends, but she stopped and noticed Cater and Trey's guilty expressions, and she turned to look at the other residents of the dorm who was also looking guilty and really afraid. Andie quickly closed her eyes, taking a deep breath before yelling,
"STOP!!!"
Ace, Deuce, Trey and Cater stop fighting and turn to the platinum blonde. She then said calmly to her friends. "That's enough... we're leaving...." "Huh?!" All of them cried out in shock as the boys stepped away from each other. Andie crossed her arms and glared back at Riddle as she calmly continued, "Even if we fight them now, it'll just be a waste of time. If Heartslabyul doesn't want Ace and Deuce, then as Dorm Leader of the Ramshackle Dorm, I will welcome them to my dorm with open arms!" "Andie-san...." Deuce whispered. Ace just looked at her in silence. "At least in my dorm, they won't have to worry about dealing with trying to remember all these stupid rules." She said at Riddle, who looked completely ready to lose it. "Besides, I think we've overstayed our welcome long enough." She said as she turns around, "Let's go boys." "B-b-but Andie-" "You heard her, let's go!" Deuce cuts Ace off, pushing him from behind him as the duo started to follow her, "Oi! Wait for me!" Grim yelled as he quickly followed his friends.
Andie stopped and turned one last time to look at Riddle with a serious face, she then said, "My dorm may not be as fancy or as high class as yours or any other dorms.... But at least at my dorm, I will always be there for my friends, no matter what. Even if everyone here finally obeys and follows every rule you enforced on them, in the end... you'll only end up being all alone." With that she turned, and the group left. Riddle silently stared back looking shock and confused.... He then gritted his teeth in anger and frustration as he muttered, "That unruly girl...." Soon enough, Andie, Grim, Ace and Deuce made it to the entrance of Heartslabyul. "Well then, Ace-chan and company, see ya later~" Cater said waving at them. Trey looked at the group apologetically and said, "We'll work on pacifying Riddle so you guys can apologize and come back to the dorm." "Don't bother," Andie said looking at them with contempt in her eyes. Ace was shaking with anger at the absurdity he had experienced as he yelled, "Shit!! I am never apologizing!!!" Both Trey and Cater looked guilty even more before they turned back with the gates closing on the freshmen.
Back at the tea garden. All were silent even as Trey and Cater returned. Most of the residents felt guilty for what happened, while others contemplated with what the exiled freshmen said, especially with platinum blonde's parting words. Riddle sits back in his throne and took a deep breath to calm himself. He then turned to all the residents and said, "Huff.... My goodness. Let's put that behind us and get back to the party. We must get to the croquet match." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a pocket watch. Opening it, he frowned when he saw the time, "Ah, we're already 15 minutes behind schedule! This is terrible!" "Yes, Dorm leader...." Trey said in a soft tone, he was more distant from Riddle than before. He hung his head low so he wouldn't look at him in the eye. Cater glanced sympathetically towards his friend and quietly whispers, "... Are you really alright with this?" Even he couldn't help but feel sorry for the freshmen. Trey shook his head sharing Cater's sentiments, as he said, "... There is nothing I can do."
