*Muffy*

This is a two part story and I'm currently working on the 2nd part...

Buffy stands in line, waiting for her turn to try out.

Buffy is the only girl who showed up for basketball tryouts and she is aware of that, today is the day she’ll make history, she will be the first girl on the Jefferson Middle School basketball team, she knows she’ll make it, she has to make it or all her trash talk will just get thrown down the toilet.

“You still think you can make it?” Marty asks, raising his eyebrow and a playful smirks covers his face.

“I know I can make it” Buffy says with confidence.

Marty is one of the main reasons she’s out here, to prove to him that she can make the team even if it is “just for boys.”

The coach blows his whistle catching Buffy’s attention, as he throws her a ball which she gracefully catches. Buffy walks to the middle of the court and she eyes the goal and her competitive side takes over and she starts walking back from the middle of the court making the shot more difficult.

“I THINK YOU WANT TO GET CLOSER TO THE GOAL SWEETIE, NOT FURTHER” Some random guy yells causing a few other guys to laugh.

“HEY! How about you shut it, because I do recall you missing your half court shot” Marty defends Buffy and she looks over to him flashing him a smile before she turns back focusing on the goal.

Buffy is basically standing under the other basketball goal as she takes a deep breath letting the ball fly from her hands.

It’s like time slows down as everyone watches the ball to see if Buffy is actually going to make this full court shot which she does.

“Omg I did it” Buffy says excitedly running over to Marty and before she could register what she was doing she hugs him.

“Yeah you made it” Marty smiles and he hugs her back.

They let go of each other and a devious glint appears in Buffy’s eyes. “If you can make a full court shot milkshakes are on me but if you miss milkshakes are on you”

“I’ve never met someone so competitive” Marty shake his head in disbelief.

The coach blows his whistle tossing the ball to Marty, which he fumbles with before he holds it steady in his hands.

Buffy laughs at his attempt to catch the ball “My favorite flavor is strawberry, just letting you know”

“Just letting you know” Marty mocks her as he walks to where she was just standing.

+Time Skip+

Buffy sits patiently at the booth at The Spoon and Marty walks over sitting across from her sliding her strawberry milkshake across the table.

“Thank you” Buffy giggles.

“No problem, history maker”

“We won’t even know who made the team until tomorrow”

“I know you’ll make it though, so you have nothing to worry about”

“Well I know I have nothing to worry about, but what about you?” Buffy jokes.

“Well ouch, I actually consider myself pretty good”

“Mmmhmmm, whatever you say” Buffy smiles taking a sip of her milkshake.

Marty rolls his eyes and they sit there quietly drinking there milkshakes.

Marty breaks the silence “If I make the team you have to go on a date with me”

“A what!?” Buffy practically chokes on her smoothie.

“You heard me”

“Okay fine, deal”

They both sit there with smiles on there faces.

“If you do make the team where would you take me?” Buffy ask.

“Some place fun” Marty smirks and Buffy grows anxious wanting to know where because she knows for sure that he’s going to make the team.
