Chapter 12
James Pov
I sat next to Thomas at Starbucks. He rubbed my thigh.
"How are you teeth so perfect?" Thomas asked.
"Dear god, you should've seen my braces back in high School." I said, snickering.
"If you think you were bad you should've seen my glasses." Thomas said.
"You had glasses?!" I said, surprised. "Oh shut up." He said, playfully.
I felt someone wrap their arms around my shoulders.
"Guess who?" A British accent hissed into my ear.
"...George King and lemme guess...Sam and Charles are with you?" I asked.
The three stalked over in front of me. "What do you guys want?" Thomas asked.
"You know Hamilton. Right?" George asked. I narrowed my eyes and nodded. "Any dirt on his back?" He asked. I actually have quite a few things.
The cigarettes, the fact that he's underage, the bad past.
"No. I don't know him too well." I lied. "Oh, Mads. You are such a bad liar. Give me all you got. If you don't...I won't think twice." He said.
Thomas stood up and grabbed George's collar.
"Do it! My father is the superintendent! He will have your ass up and out if you do so much as lay a finger on me!" George exclaimed.
Thomas' eye twitched and he sat back down.
I rubbed his hand.
"I may have a few things...why do you want to know?" I asked.
"Why should we tell you?" Charles hissed.
"Because I don't have to give you information." I said.
"Fine. It's because his been getting a little too popular. A little too smart. A little too much in our business...tell us." George said.
I took in a shaky breath.
"No. I changed my mind." I said. George pulled me off of my seat. "What?" He growled.
"Nothing! H-he smokes! He's only 21 and a senior! He's an immigrant and an orphan! Don't hurt me!" I spit out. George smiled.
"Immigrant? Orphan? We could work with this... that's all we need to knows. We can work from here." George said grinning from ear to ear. I looked at Thomas with fear.
"It'll be okay Maddy." Thomas said.
It won't.
