#PROLOGUE
CID officer Purvi-- Everyone knows how brave she can be, how much tough and everything. Despite it all, she's a young woman underneath. Just a person like everyone else. All her life she has believed that life isn't like in the movies. But she doesn't know it's already taken that turn--
Her second year with the crime Investigation Department. She admires her seniors and everyone at work. Her bonding with the other women officers is just as special, but if someone would ask who her best friend is-- she would say Vineet Kumar.
Maybe it's because he joined the CID just when she did. Maybe it's their age, their interests, she can talk with him about anything and everything. And even the scariest case seems like an easy challenge when he's with her.
It's valentine's day and her best friend is excited. Nope they never had anything more-- Vineet is obviously excited for other ladies in his life. Are there any though?
"Working on Valentines Day! Can you imagine?"
Purvi signals him to quiet down. Sachin sir is just walking ahead of the two of them.
"Don't you love your work?" Sachin asks them, turning around.
He isn't angry and only looks like he's teasing Vineet.
"No sir. I mean, I love my work sir." Vineet mumbles and Purvi only laughs.
Vineet elbows her once Sachin sir is far enough. "hey don't laugh. Meri girlfriend wait kar rahi mera, let's work this case faster."
Purvi laughs harder. "You have a girlfriend?"
Nope they are still focused on the case. But this kind of talk is a stress buster. It is.
"Han na, if you agree. I'll have one right away." He jokes.
"Shut up."
She beats him on the arm. "Mujhe line na maro. Kahi jo tumhareliye bani wo bura na maan jaye."
"Do you think she's around?" he asks, screening his surroundings.
Mumbai roads are as busy as ever. And since they are close to the beach a lot of couples are walking hand in hand.
"Maybe." Purvi smiles at her friend
"Haha. But seriously. I thought you didn't believe in stuff like destiny and love?"
"I don't think those things can happen to me is all."
"What if they do?"
Purvi's heart races a little but she brushes off the thoughts of romance.
"I don't need them. I'm happy with myself and my work. I just don't need love."
"Ah, what if you find someone, pehli nazar, pehla pyar, huh Purvi?"
Vineet is as adamant as ever, purvi rolls her eyes.
"There's no such thing as love at first sight, Vineet. honestly. Now walk faster or Sachin sir will scold us!"
"Kya syappa hai.. girlfriend nai, valentines day bhi nai!" Vineet mumbles but switches to duty mode.
The three of them then focus on the investigation. The case seems to go on forever. There's no clue as to who the murderer is. But the young boy who was kidnapped has been traced out-- Purvi and Vineet are asked to go to the location.
"Just go and keep an eye out on the boy. One of the seniors will soon join you... as of now... We've got a new case here and CP won't leave us alone!" Abhijeet orders his juniors who nod and storm off.
**
In a godown, outskirts of Mumbai...
Vineet and Purvi hide in the shadows waiting for further orders. The boy is safe. But one of the bad guys mumbles something into his boss's ear--
"What?" The boss exclaims. "then we have to kill this boy..."
Purvi jumps out of her hiding spot. She can't sit and wait for orders any more. She needs to save that boy... She exchanges a nod with Vineet who rushes forward after her.
"Kaun ho tum log?" the boss asks.
Purvi smirks. "We're CID. Now hand the boy..."
A fight breaks out. Guns are blazing, Purvi fears for the boy's safety more than her own. Maybe she should have listened to her seniors? What if the boy is shot or killed because of her? and her earpiece wouldn't work. Maybe all her seniors are busy...
Oh that took her mind off the fight--
"Watch out!!"
someone yells just as a bullet comes heading towards her--
"Wh--"
Purvi freezes, her mind is elsewhere obviously and she's slow to react. But then two strong arms wrap themselves around her shoulders as she's pulled to safety--
she assumes it's Vineet-- but the broad, masculine voice that reaches her ears is not his--
"You bastard--"
Purvi looks up at her saviour, a dark skinned man with refined features. There's a gun in his hand but he's grunting in pain-- oh no the bullet grazed his arm. Did he injure himself while trying to save her?
She wants to ask him who he is.. but he spares her only a glance. Purvi realizes she was in his arms until now and blushes a little.
Okay what was that now! oh gosh!! she's still in the middle of a fight--
Her brain begins to work again. She exchanges a nod with Vineet, silently telling him she's fine. It's safe to assume that this new guy who entered could be a CID officer himself. And the tide has changed since his arrival.
The man not just saved her but also has taken down several members without firing a bullet. The boss is left alone. Vineet tackles him from behind and Purvi rushes in to snatch the boy from his grip.
The boss attempts to hit her-- but then again, he's stopped by the mysterious stranger-- one slap to the cheek, he lies on the floor.
"Learn to respect ladies, scum."
Purvi can't help but smile at the man before her. But she has duties to attend to, she turns to the young boy and frees him off his bindings.
"Are you okay?"
the young boy nods. Purvi smiles back as Vineet begins to take everyone into custody. The local police arrive too. It seems like the real murderer was also caught. That much is evident from the call that Vineet receives. And this new man is indeed a CID officer.
Purvi is still in awe as the three of them return to bureau.
"You did a great job, Rajat!" ACP sir is all praise for the new member.
The dark skinned man only smiles. So his name is Rajat? He' s so handsome when he does. Purvi can only smile. Wait-- nope no staring!
She averts her eyes just as ACP sir announces-- "everyone, meet our new senior Inspector-- Rajat Kumar."
Rajat salutes his seniors and turns to face the team. He's cordial with all his juniors. And it's finally her turn to introduce herself. Purvi does her best to look into his eyes.
"Hello, Sir. I'm Purvi. Uh...Welcome to CID."
The smile he gives her is charming. Purvi is stumped. She smiles back awkwardly as she shakes hands with him. Okay she's met many men-- she's not like this around her seniors...
then why is this man different? Is it because he saved her heroically?
