Some Even Fall To The Earth
Jedediah and Octavius shared a moment right there. The Roman did not look around right away, but waited a moment before his dark brown eyes finally opened and found Jedediah's face.
"You alright now, buddy?"
Octavius breathed in heavily.
"Yes. Thank you, my friend."
Jedediah slapped Octavius on the knee.
"Good. Cuz I know of a certain Tyrannosaurus that needs a good runnin'."
Jedediah turned and hopped from the balcony railing. Octavius hesitated a moment, staring at the sky.
"'Tavius."
Octavius picked up his helmet and placed it back on his head, dark brown gentle curls no longer visible. "Coming, Jedediah."
The cowboy helped his friend to the ground and opened the door to their car.
"Hop in, amigo! I'm drivin'! Yeehaw!!" Jedediah had perked up from his meaningful speech previously, and Octavius forced an energetic smile.
The small car whizzed around the legs of the cavemen and Civil War soldiers, but instead of receiving their usual bone, everything was silent and tense.
Larry was face to face with another tall man. Larry's hands were planted firmly on his hips.
"The museum is closed, sir. I will ask you one more time to leave now before I call the police."
"Right. 'Bout that. I have all the qualifications and certifications and...and all that jazz right here."
The tall man pulled out a small book and waved it in Larry's face.
"See, there's a reason I'm here. I sense a problem with a few of your museum exhibits."
"Ah, problem. Yeah, I doubt that, they're all under my control." Larry made to grab the man's arm, but the man swiveled right around the nightguard and strolled over to Teddy.
"Theodore Roosevelt, if I'm correct. Pleasure is all mine."
"Theodore Roosevelt at your service," Teddy shook the man's hand firmly and motioned to Sacagawea, who was behind him on his horse.
"And this is the lovely Sacagawea."
"'Ello." The man smiled. "I'm The Doctor."
Jedediah called out to him.
"Doctor who?"
The Doctor looked around for a minute before spotting the car with the miniatures inside.
"Oh, brilliant, you're so teeny! I was your size once. It was absolutely brilliant. And I do love when they say that. Never gets old."
He dropped to his knees and the two could properly see him.
He was young, maybe early 30's, with long, floppy hair that was shaped in an odd part. He had a strange jawline and a nose on the larger size. Also, Jedediah noted, it almost looked like he didn't have eyebrows.
"Who you callin' 'teeny,' Humongo?" Jedediah shouted.
"Oh, my mistake. Step out so I can see you!"
The two minatures cast each other a doubtful glance before getting out of their car. The Doctor was practically laying on the floor to look at them. A moment later, he produced a long stick and pointed it at them.
Both men slammed their hands over their ears as they were deafaned by an ear-splitting whirring noise and a blinding green light.
Suddenly, both of them were a large tangle of limbs and clothes, when Jedediah was sure they'd not been this close when the light hit.
Then he looked around. He and Octavius were practically on top of each other. And The Doctor seemed smaller. In fact... so did everything. The cowboy wasted no time untangling his legs from the Roman's and jumping to his feet.
"HAH! GIGANTOR, LOOK, I'M TALLER THAN YOU!"
Jedediah leapt high into the air, pleased to see the height difference between him and the others. Jumping, he towered over them.
While Jedediah was half conflicted to race around the museum in only a few minutes' time (as opposed to an hour) and compare his new height, Octavius had hardly acknowledged his height change except to hold out his hand and press it to The Doctor's. Palm to palm, Octavius was proud to say that his hand was larger.
Now able to properly shake hands, the Doctor was able to introduce himself more formally.
"Name's Jedediah. Guess I don't need to call ya Humongo anymore."
Octavius bowed. "My name is Octavius, leader of the Roman army."
"Pleasure to meet you both!!" The Doctor shook both their hands at once. "Now onto more business-y type business. My TARDIS crash landed in the front yard of this museum not even 15 minutes ago. Now, she does this a lot, but always with a purpose." The Doctor raised an eyebrow mysteriously and whirled around.
"Larry Daley! Nightguard! Are you expecting any new exhibits?"
Larry was startled by the sudden interrogation.
"Uh... yeah now that you mention it. McPhee told me something about an ancient artifact supposed to come in... I can... check, I guess."
"Excellent. Take me there! This may be the difference between life and death! No pressure!"
