Pharmacophobia
You finally have a moment of reprieve. A moment a silence. A moment to yourself. You had finally gotten a second to step away from work and your colleagues prying eyes.
Of course you're technically off the clock since 5 minutes ago, but that doesn't stop your co-workers from stopping you if they see you and begging you to either help out extra or straight up take their shift, knowing you have a hard time saying no.
You shift uncomfortably on the floor, tugging at your too tight work collar and picking at your nails. You've had these...thoughts for a while. So long that it has become too much. You're over worked, your family abandoned you, you've got no friends, and anyone who seemingly has any interest in you always ends up abusing and using you.
The only light in the long, dark tunnel, you've been traversing for a while has been the animatronics. So much more human than the surrounding actual ones. Friendly with every interaction you've had, some more than others. Your favorite being Chica, the animated and quirky chicken.
She's helped you through many hardships on the job and for that, you'll never forget her. You had made sure to leave her a little gift with a hand written note. Someone deserved something and it's not like your family would care for one.
Another overly friendly animatronic you've had help from was the Daycare Attendant, Sun. You didn't have many tasks to do there but when you did, Sun was always there, always nice, always ready to help and always wanted to play with you.
And while you never met his other counterpart, you'd like to think you'd get along with him, too, with what Sun has told you about him. What you didn't know, was Moon was always keeping an eye on you. Whether you were working in Mazercise, or the Atrium, he'd always keep tabs.
Sun and Moon were obsessed with you. You were always so sweet, and thoughtful. Sosososo considerate! They were sad you didn't have many jobs to do in the daycare, so they would sometime use the Fazwatch system to ping you over in their direction, just to see you come in and look around confused before leaving.
You think of his warm smile, knowing you'll miss it and his ability to make you grin on even your worst days. You wish you could say bye to him. You take a deep breath.
You're tired.
The 30 some pills weigh heavy in the palm of your hand.

"Where is she, Moon!?" Sun frantically paces in their shared room above their balcony, fingers up to his mouth but not chewing on them. Sun knows your schedule by heart and you've been off the clock for exactly 8 minutes and 24 seconds, you should've come by to say farewell like you promised to do!
"I'm looking! I'm checking all the cameras around the time she got off," Moon replies within Sun's head, flicking through many camera feeds only he has access to while Sun fronts. Finally, Moon spots the figure he was looking for, your head quickly moving out of the frame. "There!"
Sun jumps from Moon's outburst. "Where? Where'd she go!?"
"Last seen going towards...the daycare?" the confusion in Moon's voice is evident and it makes his brother scared. Sun quickly jumps off the balcony and lands heavily on the floor. He searches around for any evidence of his sweet human being around.
Sun stomps around with purpose, looking up and asking, "Anything else?" to Moon. Said brother goes silent for a moment before replying.
"No. She just disappears."
The solar animatronic begins to fidget, worry creeping through his wires. "Sunflower!?" he calls, his hands cupped around his mouth even though it doesn't do anything. "Come out! It's not time for hide and seek, silly!" Though his exposition is cheery, one could hear the hint of concern in his voice.
Moon had been eerily quiet for that time before suddenly saying, "Wait! Sun, she went towards the bathrooms!"
Sun quickly goes over to the girl's bathroom. He throws the door open and a scene Sun never wanted to see is sprawled out on the floor. His sweet flower. Moon's beautiful Stardrop. You lie on the floor, eyes open but unmoving.
"Nononononono! S-sunbite! Sunflower! Can you hear me?" Sun hovers his shaking hands over your body. He wipes away at the bubbly foam that leaks out of your mouth. Sun scans your body 10 times over, mumbling, "This can't be happening!" From the corner of his eye, Sun notes the discarded bottle slightly out of your reach.
In their headspace, Moon is panicking, searching anything and everything he can about overdoses. "Sun!" he yells, gaining his brother's attention, "Begin CPR!"
"I-I can't give her air, though!" he cries, preforming the life-saving action anyway. Moon's brain processes a thousand thoughts a second, looking up everything he can to reverse the overdose, scared to death.
"Head to a med bay! Find something called Naloxone! Hurry!" Moon instructs. Sun hesitates, not wanting to leave you on the ground, but with Moon's insistent yelling, he's able to rip himself away and find a medical station.
Sun rips open a locked cabinet and his eyes quickly find what he's looking for. On the way back to you, his mind drifts to thoughts of you already being dead, unable to be brought back. He wouldn't be able to give you hugs, make you laugh, brighten your day.
With those to motivate him, his legs run faster.
You were right where he left you, not looking any better. After Sun rips open the packaging, Moon instructs, "Push half of the vial into each of her nostrils. Should be one milliliter each!"
Sun gingerly does so, setting the medicine down to the side. He wipes a bit more from your face and makes sure you're on your side. "It'll be okay, Sunshine. You're okay. No one will hurt you ever again..."
"The room isn't ready..." Moon points out somberly.
"It'll be fine...It's good for now. But...hey we'll be able to get her opinions on how to decorate!" Sun's voice cracks, seemingly trying to convince himself more than Moon.
Suddenly, the automatic bathroom lights turn off from lack of motion, letting Moon out. He sighs gently and brushes your hair from your eyes. They've since closed but he's unsure if that's a good sign or not.
Your breathing becomes more stable, so Moon cradles you to his chest and stands up. He holds you close and whispers, "We love you so much, Star. You'll be safe with us from now on..." as he walks the both of you out and to their room.
~~~
You've been unconscious for longer than they thought. Moon paces the dark room while Sun cries in his head. "They've always vented about some coworkers but I didn't know it was this bad! Moonie! How did we miss it! We love her so much and she was hurting!"
Moon growls, angry they didn't realize it until it was nearly too late. "We should've been there for her...Our sweet Star..." Moon wants to get revenge on those who hurt you this much, but he doesn't know who they are. He can be patient for the time being.
Besides, you need them right now, so he won't be going anywhere. "Why won't she wake up?" Sun worries.
"She's just gone through a lot, Sunny. Let her rest." Moon turns around to gauge their messy room. "For now, we must clean up to make her new home more comfortable..." he trails off and begins to tidy up.
~~~
Your head is pounding and your mouth is dry when you finally come to. You groan as you force your heavy eyes open. It's dark, wherever you are, and you begin to panic. Your breathing quickens as you start to move but stop when your joints ache.
You whine in discomfort. "Wh-where?" you whisper, mouth too dry and throat sore. To your right, you make out a curtain shuffling and a figure joins you. The figure gasps and you flinch, highly sensitive to everything.
"Oh! You're up! Oh my, oh my goodness! How are you feeling? Are you thirsty? Oh, you are, sweet thing, very dehydrated! I brought snacks and some water!" The newcomer speaks excitedly and loud, making you wince and curl up on yourself against the wall. They notice. "Oh! I'm so sorry, sorrysorrysorry, Sweetness," the pointedly male voice reassures you, lowering their voice to a whisper.
Wait.
"S-sun?" You'd recognize him anywhere, even though your eyes are heavy and weak at the moment. Sun, who had been in the little bit of light seeping through the pushed together curtains, quickly turns on a lamp, illuminating the room. You blink away the brightness until your eyes adjust.
He approaches you with a smile, bending down and offering a bottle of water. You reach out shakily, uncertain about what's going on but take it anyway. You attempt to twist the cap but your weak arms are no use.
Sun happily takes the bottle from you and effortlessly opens it up, but before you can take it back, he brings it up to your lips. He holds a hand under your chin as you lean back to greedily drink in the refreshing water. He pulls it away, saying, "Not too much now! Don't want to make you sick!"
You wipe your mouth, watching Sun curiously as he gets up to put the water down on a nearby table. "Sun...what happened? Where I am?"
Sun wrings his hands, not wanting to start with the more serious topic, so he spreads his arms out and tells you, "You're in me and Moonie's room! Don't worry, we cleaned it up nicenicenice for you!" He becomes more unsure in his tone when he asks, "Is-is it okay? Do you like it?"
You look around. A bed lies in the corner with a nightstand next to it. The other corner holds the table with the lamp and water bottle and the wall you're up against has nothing but a couple kid's drawings. "Um, yeah, it looks good," you tell him honestly, though not sure why he cares for your opinion on it.
He's never expressed any want to bring you up here before. You would usually hang out in the daycare. "Oh goodie!" he brings you out of your thoughts with a cheerful hop while clapping his hands. "We were worried you wouldn't like it! Don't worry, though, you can decorate it to more of your liking in due time!"
Why would you need decorate his room? You wrack your brain for what happened before you awoke and...oh...oh yeah... Your eyes begin to swell with tears. You put your face in your hands and release a long shaky sigh. Seeing this, Sun quietly walks over and sits in front of you.
"Oh...Honey, don't cry...you're okay. You're safe here with me and Moon!" Sun pets your head as you continue to cry, the memories of everything playing back for you.
"Why..." you mumble through sobs.
"Hmm?" Sun hums, not being able to hear you through your cries, still petting your hair.
"Why-why did you save me?" you cry out, moving your hands from your face and staring into his blank, white ones.
Oh. Sun does not like that. Why wouldn't he save you? You're their precious Star. The fact that you are questioning why he did so is unnerving and concerning. He tsks loudly and pulls you into his lap, ignoring your weak shriek of protest.
"Why? Why wouldn't I, Starlight? You are our most precious treasure and the...the sight of seeing you...like that...the thought of you even attempting....it was horrifying." You're confused as he explains.
"You weren't supposed to see me like that..." you retort softly.
"Well we did and we were sosososososo scared for you! We love you very much, Sunlight. We want you safe and happy."
You stop and lean back, noting Sun's grip tightening just a bit. "L-love?" your voice trembles. You don't understand. How could Sun...he said we? How could they both love you? You consider yourself friends, of course, one of your best, but you had no idea they could acquire feelings for you. Let alone Moon, whom you've never even met.
"Yes! Moonie and I both. We had no idea you were feeling that way and we'll never forgive ourselves for not noticing. You went through so much alone..." You look away, embarrassed from the attention. You hid your grief well, there wasn't any signs, so Sun shouldn't be this remorseful. "You'll be safe here, Sunshine, nothing can hurt you, no one will ever hurt you, okay? You are so very loved."
You start to cry again. So many emotions bursting through your body. Confusion, regret, guilt, anger, sadness. Sun shushes you and pulls you close to his chest, not knowing your tears were for failing.
~~~
Sun rocks you in his arms as he waits for you to calm down, whispering sweet nothings the entire time. When you finally do, he stops and sets you back so he can look at your face. He smiles softly and wipes your tears.
"T-thanks..." you whisper, genuinely grateful for his comfort. When he doesn't respond, you look around for an exit. "Um...I should probably get home soon..."
Sunny's faceplate quirks left, then right, before ticking back in place. He giggles, "Silly! You are home. No need to leave!"
"Huh? But my landlord..." You were hoping the problem would take care of itself when you were gone but now that you're still here, your landlord is going to be pissed at the state your apartment had been left in.
"No more evil, mean landlord! You'll stay here where you'll be safe!" He says this resolutely.
"No..." You shake your head, panic creeping in the more he misunderstands you. "I mean, I can't stay here forever, Sun, I'll have to leave eventually. There's...things I need to get done..."
"Sunshine," he places his hands on your cheeks and forces you to look at him. "You're not listening to me. You are safe here. Moonie and I won't let you out of our sight. We'll have so much fun together and you'll be happy again!"
"You...you're not letting me leave?" Your voice rises in octaves as the realness of the situation is setting in.
"Of course not silly! Why else would we make our room perfect for you! We can't keep you safe unless you're here with us! I promise, no one can hurt you anymore! Not even yourself!" Sun smiles wildly with excitement.
He can't actually keep you here, right? Someone surely comes up here sometime right? You once thought thinking nobody would care or miss you when you're gone was a blessing but now...Chica will think you're...dead and she'll alert staff, meaning nobody will know you're actually alive.
You start to pick excuses in a panic. "M-my job, Sunny! They'll notice I'm not clocking in or-or," He shushes you again.
"While you were unconscious, Chica had alerted all of us animatronics of an...unsettling note you'd left her." Sun frowns, not liking what was written in it one bit. "Staff had been alerted and, unsurprising enough, had immediately removed you from the schedule," he practically growls out the last part, angry how anyone could just do that so fast after a 'death'. Especially to their Sunshine.
Damn, Chica found it faster than you thought she would. You had hid it fairly well in her room, too. You stay silent, unsure what to even say at this point. Sun, and apparently Moon, are planning to keep you here out of possibly misguided love and to keep you safe from further attempting at your own life?
You shakily sigh. Nothing in your life would have prepared you for this.
