Algophobia
You've lost track of how long you've been confined to this room by two daycare attendants. Their obsession to love you has not dwindled in the slightest. It's only gotten worse and you don't understand.
How long will it take for them to realize you're just not worth it? You're broken, unlovable. You keep thinking of ways to make them see reason. Since they've started feeding you, they've been using utensils, something you could possibly use.
A spoon is useless and they would never bring a knife up here, they're too smart. But the forks they use could be beneficial. You've noticed an outlet on the opposite wall. You've never once thought of electrocuting yourself but you've become desperate the more they've become affectionate.
You have no idea how you're going to procure a fork.
~~
"Hello, my Moonlight..." You straighten up, excited for some food and a chance to enact your plan. Moon saunters in with a bowl. You frown and slide back down once you notice it's only ice cream.
Wait, ice cream?
Your eyebrows shoot up. Moon watches as your eyes twinkle. Oh yes, this was a good idea, to see you so happy. He sits down criss-cross opposite of you.
Moon's eyes watch carefully as he brings a spoonful up to your lips. His smile widens as you obediently eat for him. "Such a good girl, Starlight..." You're not sure when you've become used to their words of endearment, but it scares you that you're getting accustomed to any of this at all.
"I like mint..." you mumble, surprised they picked your favorite flavor.
"Oh?" Moon giggles. He knows you love mint. He watched you eat it on break sometimes. "I'm glad I picked the right one then..." Moon decides to run his fingers through your hair, surprising you when he passes the bowl into your hands. You happily eat on your own for the first time in weeks, not even caring that he's causing you to shiver from his touch.
Feeling bold, Moon turns you around and holds you up to his chest to better feel you. He rubs his hands down your arms, then back up to go down your back. He rubs your spine, feeling the little bumps.
You cringe, not sure why he decided to feel you up all of a sudden. Why don't you hate it though? Why aren't you disgusted by the act? You hate yourself for not knowing the answer. Bringing his cool hands around your waist, he begins kneading your thighs.
"So soft, Starlight...So pretty..." he coos. You're mortified that you're getting some sort of pleasure by his affection. Do you want to stop him, though? YES! Your mind screams. You quickly devour the rest of your ice cream, ignoring the brain freeze.
Seeing that you've finished, Moon takes the bowl from you and goes to put it away. You're curious as to why he stops before descending, though. What is he doing? You lean back as his face comes right up to yours. You blink a couple times and before you know it, his silicon lips are making contact upon your forehead.
He giggles and scurries off. You touch your forehead, blush appearing from your ears all the way down your neck.
~~
The time you get to yourself while the daycare is open is long. You stay in bed, mostly, periodically getting up to walk as far as your ankle rope allows to make sure you don't cramp up. You would think your thoughts would only be filled with depression and anguish, and yeah, they are, but not all of them are.
Sometimes, your mind drifts to the boys and how soft they are with you. The care they put into you. Sure, you're tied up but only because you made them resort to it. It really is your fault for everything bad happening to you, isn't it?
You sigh and groan, rubbing a hand down your face. The more affectionate they become with you, the more your mind and body craves it. That can't be good, right? You can't live like this forever! You don't even want to live, period. Right?
You just got to get them to see reason. Explain why you can't be loved, that they're...probably shouldn't call them delusional, maybe misguided? Why must your thoughts be so jumbled? It's not like you can do anything besides work through them!
You don't even know if you should go through with your plan with the fork anymore. You fear what punishment they could possibly dish out but...what else is there to do? Lie down and take it? Play house with Sun and Moon forever?
Half of you tells you to shut up and take what you're given while the other tells you to end it like you planned. You're beginning to think you have some sort of sick enjoyment from the care and attention they give you but you know deep down you don't really deserve it. You're practically using them at this point.
How long has it really been since you've been touched so gently? Cooed at with such sweet nicknames? Taken care of? Sung to sleep?
You take a deep breath and release it through your nose slowly.
~~
"We should do something for our Sunbeam!" Sun suggest while cleaning up the daycare for the night.
Moon hums in thought. You've been doing so well, albeit staying quiet, they ought to reward you for it. "Maybe we could bring up the television...watch a movie..."
"Ooooo! A movie! That's a great idea, Moonie! She'll love that! We might be able to find some snacks in the employee break room, too! It'll be like a slumber-party where we stay up all night and-"
"Calm down, Sunny. Let's see how it goes, first, before deciding to stay up all night..."
Though, the prospect of staying up late with you isn't a bad idea. The Lunar bot has been itching to have a talk with you. Since you've been with them, they haven't been able to get any names from you, the names of whoever tormented you so wrongly.
You've been less than enthusiastic about sharing much with them unlike before. Moon intends to change that. Now where did they leave that pesky T.V. anyhow? The two begin looking in the back areas of the daycare, eventually ending up under the theatre.
"Were there always endos down here?" Sun muses out loud, making sure to turn on the lights.
"I think so..." Moon responds. Sun can imagine the Lunar bot putting a finger to his chin in thought. "I believe there were too many down in the employee tunnels, that they dropped a bunch off here since the theatre isn't really in use..."
Sun nods with a frown. "Such a shame, too. I'd love to preform in here..."
"Just go watch comedy bot," Moon snickers.
Sun chuckles along. They've heard all the jokes said bot has told before, no use in listening to the same stale ones again. "Aha!" Sun finds the bulky television sitting atop a rolling cart. He pushes it along until coming up to the stairs he originally descended. He huffs. "At times like these I wish you could help carry things..."
Sunny pointedly ignored the chuckles echoing in his head before he hefted up the T.V. He brings that up to the top before going back down for the cart. Just as he is putting the television back on the cart, a voice reaches him.
"Suunn!?" It's your voice. Why are you yelling? You know you're supposed to be quiet and you've been so well behaved before! What if there was a security worker making their rounds?! Moon inwardly rushes his other half to get a move on.
When Sun arrives back in the daycare, you call out again. "Sun? Moon?" The Solar bot hurriedly ascend the wire to find you squirming on your bed.
"Sunshine! You know you're supposed to be quiet, quiet, quiet!" He says this in a way that sounds like he's talking down to a child. You shrink in his blank gaze, twiddling your fingers. You notice he starts to tap his feet so you quickly tell him with flushed cheeks.
"I just...um, I have to pee really bad..." You avert your eyes. "You haven't been back in awhile and I-I dunno I-" He cuts you off, slapping his hands on his cheeks.
"Were you worried about me? Aww, Starshine you shouldn't have! Me and Moonie are juuuust fine! Now, lemme hold you so I can bring you down!" You know he ignores the bondage on your ankle and wrist only so you can bring it up and rely on him to release you.
It's so demeaning but you do it anyways, sneering while pointing at the rope you despise.
"Of course, of course! Can't forget these, can we?" His large fingers deftly untie you. You wonder how he can do it so easily! You've tried for hours once but you could never get the rope to loosen at any point. You can only huff in response as he picks you up bridal style.
Finally, he places you on the floor and you can stretch your legs. You quickly close the bathroom door behind and approach the stalls. After relieving yourself, you wash your hands and look at your face. Bags are apparent under your eyes, though not as bad as before, and your hair is neatly tied in a pony tail with a bow to decorate it.
Sun had a weird fascination with dressing you in different hair accessories.
You splash some cold water in your face but before you look back up, a glint of light catches your eye from the nearby trash can. You bend down and pick it up. It's a metal nail file. You frown and furrow your brows, thoughts running rapidly. As a knock erupts on the door, you hastily stuff it into your shorts.
You pace around the bathroom for a moment, getting your nightly exercise and not wanting to look suspicious. You hear the door open but Sun doesn't come in, instead, a hand reaches in to turn the lights off. You jump at the sudden darkness until red lights wash over you.
"Fall in?" Moon's voice ask, bouncing off the walls, with a lilt.
You give him a look you know he can see and get a chuckle in response. "I just want to move around more. My legs are getting cramps all the time..." you huff out, crossing your arms.
Moon hums with a smirk though you can't see it and tells you, "I suppose we can arrange something..." You start to smile until he adds, "If you behave like a good girl." You deflate. There it is. "Now now, don't pout, Starlight. Good girls get rewards. Bad girls get punished, you know this by now, yes?"
You know he's not going to let you go until you agree with him, but you're so sick of his tone of voice. So condescending and prideful. You decide to defy him and ignore him, blindly finding your way to a stall and sitting on top of the toilet.
Moon frowns at your actions. So you want to be a brat? He knows how to get you out. He lets out a long, low, giggle, causing a shiver to run down your spine. "Silly, silly. What do you think you'll get out of pouting? Hiding like a brat who doesn't get her way?"
You stay quiet, growing unsure if this is the best move to be making.
"Surely not a movie night..." Moon tsks, "No, no. Brats don't get movie nights." You perk up. Is this a trick? Neither of your captors have ever mentioned movies or T.V shows ever, you figured they simply didn't have access to any electronics.
You quietly and slowly open the stall door, jumping back in alarm when the Moon is crouched right in front. He grabs the door, his long claws curling over the side and pulls it open. His smile widens and he stands up straight.
"There she is...so obedient." You shy away from his gaze. "Come, let me take you home and Sun can set up your reward."
"Wait," you groan. Moon stills in surprise at your hesitance. "It's not another puppet show is it? Those don't count as movies..." Moon cackles, causing you to look up in surprise. You've never heard him laugh with such sincerity. You blush and look away. His laugh, a real one, actually sounds quite nice...
The Lunar animatronic interrupts your startling thoughts and grabs your hand gently. "No, no, Starlight. We found an old television for you. We figured a nice movie night was something you'd enjoy."
You try to think of this as a normal occurrence. Something you do with friends at a normal sleepover. It's almost nice to think of this like that. But the reality always catches up to you and you remember how this isn't normal. This isn't just a sleepover. Sun and Moon can't be your friends because friends don't hold each other captive.
Moon notices your depleting mood, wondering what happened. You were just smiling at the thought of watching a movie and now you're looking as depressed as you were a week ago. He and Sun have been working so hard to get you used to your new home and surroundings but whenever they seem to have a breakthrough, you retreat back into your mind and shut them out.
Seeing as you're still lost in thought, the daycare attendant picks you up. You don't even wiggle as he takes you back up. "For a moment, Starlight," he tells you as he ties your ankle, "I'll grab the T.V and be right back."
As per their agreement, Moon lets Sun take charge and he then grabs their things to bring up. He takes the T.V and cart up separately and sets everything up, ignoring your lack of reactions before untying you again.
"I brought some movies, Sunlight! I wasn't sure what you'd like so I kind of just brought everything and..." Sun rambles as he holds the movies in front of your face like a deck of cards. You absentmindedly glance over them. The thought of doing something so normal and nice makes you want to throw up.
Sun frowns at your lack of response. "O-or well I suppose we could just watch them all! Wouldn't that be fun, Honeybee!?" Sunny sighs and puts the VHS tapes on the bed beside him. "Come on, Sunshine, we're really trying here. You're no help if you stay quiet like this..." He pets your head as your eyes come back into focus.
"Trying...?" you ask, eyes squinting at his face. "Trying to do what? Make this seem normal? Like we're best friends having a normal sleepover? Sun! None of this is normal!" You rub your face furiously.
Sun lifts the tapes again. "Please pick a movie... You'll feel better." You suppress a growl which would surely earn you a reprimanding and randomly choose one. Sun gets up to insert it into the player before joining you in bed, sitting up against the wall at the head of it. He pulls you up to lay against his chest and begins playing with your hair.
You huff, crossing your arms. "You guys know I'm broken, right?" you ask, voice small.
Sun hums, "We'll piece you back together..."
~~
You only last one movie before falling asleep. You begrudgingly got into it but blame it on the lack of any stimulation. When you awake, you notice the blue tipped fingers rubbing up and down your arms and credits rolling on the screen.
"How long was I asleep?" you ask, sitting up.
"A little over an hour," Moon answers, urging you to lie back down. You sigh and close your eyes, face directed towards the ceiling.
"If you guys went about this a different way...I might have actually enjoyed the attention..." you say offhandedly.
Moon can tell you do enjoy the attention but refuse to acknowledge it. "If we hadn't found you when we did, you would have been dead..." Your eyes open to find his beating down on you, his tone serious. You open your mouth to retort but he beats you to it. "If we didn't take care of you, how many more attempts would you have taken without us knowing until you finally succeeded? Where we couldn't find you?"
You furrow your eyebrows, deep in thought. He was right in a way. "Stealing me wasn't the way to go..."
Moon growls. "And letting you go home to try again was? Go to where we cannot protect you? This was certainly the only way you lived."
You sit up and look at him, eye to eye. You see the absolute devotion and anger he holds for you within. The desire to keep you safe from the world and the anger for whatever caused you all this anguish. You let out a dry chuckle and put a hand on your forehead, returning to your previous position.
"Gosh, maybe if it weren't for Chris I wouldn't be in this position." Moon hears your whispered confession and immediately looks up the employee with that name, getting any and all info on him.
Moon makes sure to hold his anger in and softly caresses your face while asking, "Tell me what happened, Starlight? It'll help you feel better."
"What didn't happen?" you groan. Why are you even having a heart to heart with Moon? He is a good listener when he's not threatening you. You sigh, deciding to screw it. "It was just a lot of things, Moon, I don't think you or Sun would really understand."
"We want to. For you."
You hide your face. How are you supposed to hate these two when they speak to you like that?
Moon pokes your face. "We want what's best for you even if you don't think that's what this is. You may think we stole you and hid you away but what would have happened if we didn't? You wouldn't be here. We love you so much, Starlight."
Your eyes start to moisten and you take a deep breath. "But you threaten me...tie me up..."
"Everything that has happened has been because of your continued attempts. We're trying to keep you safe from yourself. You don't believe it yet, but you have worth, Starlight. You're loved. You're warm, safe. We just want to see you happy."
"I-" Moon shushes you.
"Shh, go to sleep, now. Think about it. You could be happy here." Moon leans over and unwraps one of his candies, slipping it into your mouth. Being drowsy already, you think nothing of it as it dissolves on your tongue.
After you quickly fall into slumber, Moon slips off the bed and slinks down into the daycare. "Do you think she'll let go and love us as much as we love her?" Sun asks with uncertainty.
Moon clasps his hands behind his back, sauntering out into the main plex, a certain person on his mind as he responds. "Her mind is constantly fighting with itself back and forth. Sometimes she's compliant and almost happy, carefree. Other times she's avoidant, quiet, and catatonic. Hopefully, she'll choose the right side."
"But what if she doesn't!?" Sun cries, not being able to bear the thought.
"We'll make sure she does."
~~
"We don't know what he did, Moon! Don't be too hasty," Sun warns as his Lunar counterpart stalks the lone worker around the employee tunnels.
Moon rolls his eyes. "I can feel how much you wish to see him hurt, Sunny. Besides, I can find out easy enough." With that, Moon hangs from the ceiling and silently snatches up Chris, hand covering his mouth and eyes.
In just a few minutes, the man is tied and bound to a chair in an off shoot supply room. The man struggles with his bindings, eyes wide as he keeps them on his captor. Moon giggles creepily and circles him.
Suddenly, Moon grips Chris' face tightly, his claws poking into his skin, and forces him to look into his bright eyes. "If I remove this," one of his claws fiddles with the cloth covering the man's lips, "and you scream, I will slit your throat."
Chris goes silent, nodding his head up and down as sweat rolls down his forehead. Moon slips the covering off and Chris takes a deep gulp of air. "W-what do you want from me?" The man has no idea why the daycare attendant would act out like this. He hasn't even seen this guy besides his candy posters.
"You remember your coworker...hmm?" Moon holds up a picture of you from your employee profile. Chris squints at it.
"The one that killed herself? Sure, why?" Wrong answer. The speed at which Moon's hand wraps around Chris's throat was unseen.
"And do you know why she killed herself?" Moon asks with a growl, squeezing.
Chris chokes and splutters, "I-I don't know!"
"I don't like liars, Chris." His unoccupied hand slithers down above Chris', picking up his ring finger between his thumb and index. "What had happened between the two of you? Did you hurt her?" Before the man could answer, Moon abruptly pulls his fingers up, snapping Chris' finger bone backwards.
Chris screams in anguish as Moon covers his mouth. "I-I don't know what you want! Let me go!" Moon walks behind the chair and grips Chris' hair, ripping his neck back to look at him.
"Let's play a game, shall we? You tell me the truth and you won't die, hmm? And if you're a rulebreaker...I'll break all of your fingers."
Just to show how much he's serious, Moon copies the same motion and breaks another finger. Chris cries out, staring in horror at the odd angle his fingers are forced into. "Okay! Okay! So maybe I used her! She was just so easy! She never said no, so I always got her to take over my shifts when I didn't feel like working!"
Moon can feel Sun's resentment for you as his own wires burn in rage. "Who else took advantage of her?"
"I-I dunno-" Another snap echoes in the small room. "OKAY-okay! Jenna was the one who told me how easy she was to manipulate and I think Manny took her out once and something happened-but I don't know what!"
At this point, Chris is sobbing as he cradles his injured hand to his chest. Moon taps his foot apathetically. Before Moon can finish the job he's been itching to do, Sun's voice alerts him.
"Moon, she's awake and looking around, you forgot to tie her ankle." Moon curses under his breath. He chokes Chris again, showing off his claws.
"If you speak about this, I will know. I will find you. And I will kill you. Understood?" Chris frantically shakes his head.
"I won't! I swear! Please let me go!" Moon tosses his chair sideways onto the ground. Chris lets out an 'Oomf!' before he's left in total darkness as the door closes behind Moon.
"You'll be found by some S.T.A.F.F bots early in the morning. Remember what I said..." the Lunar bot says as he walks back to his beloved.
