Surbhi's POV

The pre-wedding photoshoot was one of the best event in my life and I'm sure in Mahir's life also. India is of course no Less then heaven. And Jammu and Kashmir are of course heaven.

Gulmarg was bliss and the Perfect location was really the perfect location.

Kerala and houseboats were just wow!!

Mahir dropped me to Siwni and I was here in the MCI cottage. Mahir asked me to arrange a good room for me. Yeah. Richie rich.!!

But I don't understand. Why to buy a place for just ten days. When we're being provided with a room.

And honestly telling the condition was good in the room... If it wouldn't have been I would've never lived in it. I've not been here for even two hours and I'm missing Mahir. Not only him. I'm missing everyone.

I met many other doctors there. The in charge came and instructed about the camp. The camp would be starting from today evening and not only Siwni but from many nearby villages people would be coming to the camp. We've been given two nurses with us.

Come on Surbhi. You've two hours for yourself. Serving people is my passion and that made me come in this field. I called Mom for once and talked to her. It was 4:00. It was the time to go but before it I called Mahir.

" Hey love. How are you " He said picking up the call.

" I'm here since some hours only. Not months okay. " I told laughing

" Yeah. But It's been time " He said and I smiled.

"You're at home or office ." I asked

"In the car..towards the office " He said

"What. You're driving and speaking to me. I'm cutting the call" I told

"Arey!! I'm not. Driver is there. Don't worry " He said

" Oh. Then okay. " I replied

" Your camp have been started or not " He asked

" Yeah. Just in half an hour. " I replied

" Oh okay. Take care. You've had your lunch na. You're very careless in that " He said

" Yeah Yeah. I've already had lunch" I replied chuckling.

"Yeah. And everything is good or not Otherwise I'll call the heads here in Indore to make good living arrangements there" He said

"Mahir. I'm not any special person here okay. So I don't want anything like this" I warned

"Well well. You're Mahir Maheshwari's fiancee. " He said

" Totally self obssessed man again started. Moreover, I'm kind of being treated a bit more good because officials here know I'm your fiancee " I sighed he chuckled

" I was kidding baby " He said

" Okay now talk to you in night. I've to go " I told

"Okay. Take care and call if any problem is there. I love you " He said

" Yeah. I love you too" I replied and cut the call.

It Feels so good after talking to Mahir.

I went to the camp. I saw many patients and especially there were pregnant ladies and infants. I've always been fond of infants. I saw a three month old baby carried by a women.

"Namaste Doctor " she said

I wished her back and told her to take a seat.

" What's the problem " I asked

" He's not well from three days. Do see him " she said.

I nodded and saw the child. The child was malnourished .

" He's having High fever. Didn't you check that. " I asked her

" Who would check madam. No doctor was there in the village and I couldn't afford going to the city" she told

"God. Nurse. Come here. Take him to nursing ward and admit him. He's having high fever." I said and wrote some medicines.

" Give this medicines to him and this injection too" I commanded and she nodded

"Doctor. What has happened to him" the lady asked me concerned.

I don't want to hide anything from her so it's better to tell her.

"He's suffering from Pneumonia. " I said

" What. Will... Will he... " she said crying

" Hey. Hey. No. Nothing will happen. It's just a start of Pneumonia. Don't panic. We will provide him best treatment." I said

"Madam. Please save him. He's my only child and I've no one else in the family." she pleaded joining her hands.

"Nothing will happen. Don't panic. " I replied

" Can.. Can I go inside to see him" she asked

"Not now. Wait for ten minutes there and then nurse will call you" I said and she nodded.

I checked on the child and his treatment was very important. I saw many other patients and then at night I went to my room.

I called mom and Then Anjali. We talked a while and then I got a message. A smile popped on my face and all my tiredness flew away in seconds.

"you done with work " He asked

" Yup" I replied. As seen as blue ticks appeared I got a call.

"Hey baby. I'm missing you soo much" I said

"Hm... I'm missing you too" He replied

" What are you doing " I asked

" Nothing. Just entered home" He told

" Oh. How is everyone at home " I asked

" Everyone's good and already missing you.. More than me" He said and I chuckled

"See. I'm their favorite " I replied

" Yeah. You're everyone's favorite " He told and I smiled

" So you go. Freshen up. We'll talk later" I said

"No. It's Okay. I want to talk. " He said like a kid and I smiled

" Hmm... Say then. " I told

" How was the camp" He asked

"It was good. Normally people were having just normal diseases but a three month boy was suffering from Pneumonia. " I said

" Oh . He's Okay? " He asked

" Yeah. He's getting a proper treatment " I said

" And say. " He asked

" What to say. Just work and then nothing else. Don't know when these ten days will pass " I frowned

" Sweetheart. See one day passed. Nine days will also pass soon" He said.

"Mahir. I just want these days to be passed soon and I want to come back to you all. And I'm missing mummy so much" I told

"Video call mummy then" He suggested

"No. I'll start crying seeing her face then" I replied

"What. Then how you'll leave your mumma's home for me" He asked

"I.. I don't know. I even think this. I've never been away from her for more than a month " I said

" Baby. You will be in Indore only. You can meet her whenever you want. " He told

" Why girls have to leave their home after marriage. Why can't you boys" I asked and he chuckled

" Well. I don't have any reason for this sweetheart.. But yes I'm damn sure this one's because you girls are thousand times more stronger then man. You leave your everything behind for one person and you reside your world in that one person.. We boys can't. We're just body builders...not mentally as much as strong then you women. So that's why and believe me when you're making mine family yours then of course I will make your family mine. Your dad and mom are my dad and mom. " He assured

"You know how good it would be if every man starts thinking like this." I told smiling.

"Yeah. Well I'm missing you" he admitted

"I know. You were just not telling me" I said

"How did you know" he asked surprised

" Baby because I'm one only made for you and you're only one made for me...So we understand each other very well. " I said and he chuckled

"I love you " he whined

"I love you much much more. Now go. Have your dinner first. Okay. Talk to you tomorrow " I said and wishing each other good night we both cut the call.

I was sleeping alone here in a room.

Days were passing like this only. Waking up...Dressing up... calling at home.. calling Mahir...checking patients.. eating lunch...checking patients... eating dinner..calling home...calling Mahir and sleeping.

On the eighth day patients were less. I had a much free time When Neeti di video called me.

"Hey Surbhi. How're you" she asked

"I'm good di. How're you and your health" I asked

"I'm well and good. How's camp going on" She asked

"Great. But today I'm free. There are very less patients " I said

" Oh wow. It's great " she beamed

" What. Why " I asked

" Actually designer is at home. And Divya is also here. We were deciding your outfits for the marriage functions. It will take time to get ready... So she said to video call you to tell the designs that we've chose so that you can choose from them" di said

"But Mahir... " I asked

" I'm here only. Surbhi Hurry up okay... I've to go Delhi today only due to some work. So, fast please " He said

" You decide yours and go. It will take time for me to decide. After all its my wedding dress Mahir. Marriages don't happen everyday!! " I said frowning and looked at him.

"Okay fine...but just leave wedding dress. And all other outfits you decide by yourself. I'll decide wedding sherwani and no one will show it to her okay . " He warned everyone there!

" Fine then. I'll decide my wedding lehenga after he's gone. Because I also want you see it on the wedding day itself " I told

" Fine now you both choose other ceremonies dresses. " Said Divya di

" Both Di's. You've selected some good designs right " I asked and they nodded.

" Great. Then tell the designer to show me those pieces only. " I said

" But you see all designs na. May be you'll like anyone of them" Neeti di told

"Di. I know I'm not going to like any of those because you've already rejected them. " I told

" Ladies. Please fast. Gossip later " said Mahir.

" Di. Say him to keep quiet or either go. " I whined and both our sisters laughed

" Mahir. She's right. It takes time brother. It's her marriage after all. So if you're getting damn late. You go... You decide the clothes later but then alone. Without her" said Divya di

"No.. No.. Fine. I'm here only. We will choose together " He said and I smiled!

After an hour and more we decided clothes for our Functions.

" Phewww.. It was a hectic task" said Mahir

"Yeah. Thankyou Everyone and thankyou Mahir..the designs you chose are simple.. Yet elegant and beautiful. " I told

" Same Here Ms. Fiance " He said and I chuckled.

" Okay. Ladies thankyou. I'll take leave. I'm going Delhi " said Mahir

" When you'll be back" I asked

"Tonight itself " He told and I nodded as he went away!!

" Okay Surbhi. Mahir will decide his wedding dress tomorrow. You see some designs and say which one you loved " asked Divya di

" Yeah. Show " I said excitedly.

My Wedding Lehenga.

" It has to be damn damn pretty di and most amazing one. Normally I wouldn't have said this.. But that's least I can do for Mahir. Because I'll be Mahir Maheshwari's Bride after all. So I've to be the Bride of the year" I said dramatically and they both laughed

"Yeah Surbhi we know. That's why we've selected eight outfits. All are very much costly.. Elegant. So now you decide. " said Neeti di

" Wow. Sounds great. You both please don't tell Mahir about the outfit which I choose.. And neither will I ask about his. " I said

" Done Surbhi. " told Divya di

The next three hours also went in seeing the outfits and deciding the one. I was much confused between the two..

"Neeti di. Connect the video call to mummy" I said and she did it.

"Maa. How are you" I asked excitedly

"I'm good. How're you" she asked back

"I'm good. Okay Mummy listen na. I'm very much confused between these two. Choose the best for me" I said and she smiled.

"Anything for my child" she said and saw both the lehenga.

"Surbhi. I loved this one. You'll look Princess in this " said Mummy

" I'm already dad's princess " I bluffed

" So you'll look Mahir's queen" said Divya di and everyone chuckled

"Okay then. Di final this. My mom's decision is always final" I announced and everyone smiled.

"I'm missing you all in ample" I said

"Just two days Surbhi. Not two also.. Just one and half day and you'll be here. "Divya di told

"Yeah. Just some more time. I'll be with everyone there" I said smiling

"Okay Surbhi I'll call you in the evening when Jewellers will come with the jewellery matching your outfits " told Neeti di

" Okay. See you then" I replied and bidding bye to all of them I went to see the admitted patients.

I talked with Mahir once he reached Delhi but just for two minutes.

It was 8:00 pm when Neeti di video called me again.

"Hey. Your jewellery designs are here. Choose them for the occasions " told di

" Hey uncle. So here's the bride to be... And you've to show designs to her" Neeti di said to Jewellers.

"Hey uncle" I wished

"Hello Surbhi child. We've the best designs for you which will match with your outfit. " He told and soon there came atleast 9-10 staff with Many-many Jewellery boxes.

Uncle opened them one by one and showed me all the Jewellery.

" God. These all are so beautiful that I'm getting confused " I said

" Surbhi. Decide as many as you want " told Dad and papa

" Dad,papa ! No. You know I'm not much fond of all this.. So not much " I replied

" Still five Jewellery sets related to Functions and five more for yourself " said dad

" No dad. I don't want much" I said but he didn't listen to me.

"Okay then you both decide it for me. " I told.

" we'll decide the five another one but for your outfits you decide by yourself "they said and I nodded.

After two half and more hour I selected the Jewellery.

" You've chosen the best pieces Of whole international Market. Your choice is amazing " said the Jeweller

" Thankyou so much uncle to help me with these " I thanked him

Dad & papa went with Jewellers leaving di on call.

"So. Done with both the main things." asked di

"Yeah. Done. Thankyou so much di" I said

"Idiot. What thankyou for this " she replied

" Di.... It's my wedding after 12 days. I'm so damn excited. " I exclaimed

" I know. And you see Surbhi it's going to be the wedding the be remembered " she said

" Mahir told you the place right. He has told everyone the venue except me. I don't know how much he love to surprise me" I told

"Yes... We all known the venue and it's Again a surprise for you " winked di

" Phew... Fine. I don't want to ruin his excitement in any way. Let me be in suspense only" I said and di chuckled

"Okay. Then you take rest now.. And I'm also tired" said di

"Yeah.. You take rest. Meet you very soon di" I wished smiling

"Yeah. See you much soon baby sis" she smiled and cut the call.

Everything has been going so perfect. I smiled and slept. Just a day more Surbhi. Then you'll be in your world.

It was my ninth day here.

Last Day.

Tomorrow afternoon I'll leave for Indore. It was noon and now there were only patients who were admitted so I had no work even today. I saw them only and in noon I ate my lunch and called Mahir.

One ring...two ring..three ring...four rings but no reply.

He might be busy in any meeting. I typed a message to him..so that he see it later.

"Hey love. Call back after this meeting. Want to talk to you. Missing you badly." I typed and sent it.

I hope he see it soon. After checking on the admitted patients in the ward I saw the phone.

No calls!! I clicked on the message. Blue ticks but no reply... What has happened to him. He's well or not.

It was four pm. I called him again yet Again no answers. I called Divya Di.

"Hey Surbhi...how are you " she asked as soon as she picked the phone.

"Hi di. I'm good. How are you..baby and everyone at home " I asked

"Everyone's good. Busy in your marriage preparations " she said

"Oh. Where's Mahir di. He's not picking up my calls and not replying messages. He's well na" I asked

"Yeah. He's all fit and fine. Was home an hour ago for some work and now again went to office. " she informed

I frowned at this. He's well and good. He read my messages but he isn't replying me.

"Hey Surbhi. You there" said di

"Yeah..yeah di..I'll call you afterwards okay. Take care. Bye" I replied

"Okay. Bye" she replied and cut the call.

It's enough now. He's mad or what. I messaged him again.

"Are you so much busy that you've no time to reply me" I typed and sent him.

Two ticks. Great. So his phone data is on.
I checked some more patients and after an hour saw my phone. It was 6:00 pm.
Still no calls and no messages. This is enough.

I called him back and it was ringing and ringing but no replies... and then suddenly I listened

The person you're trying to call is currently busy. Please call again later.

What the hell. He cut my call. I'm more stubborn in this. I called him again and this time He picked up the phone.

"why you... " I tried to say but before it he shouted

" Surbhi. Don't you understand if someone's not picking the calls and replying messages he must be damn busy. I'm in board meeting and you're calling me constantly. Why you're being so stubborn. Can't you wait for a while. I would've called you back. But no. You don't see if a person is busy or not. Have your senses knocked down" He bashed on me.

Tears pooled in my eyes. Was it my mistake to try calling him since morning.

"Now will you speak anything" He yelled

"I didn't wait for a while. I've been waiting from the whole day. Sorry to disturb you. I'll not disturb you again. " I whsipered controlling my tears.

He could've said this calmly also.

I cut the call and sat there wiping my tears. I messaged him.

" I know you're much busy. But you never did so.. So I was worried , if you're alright or not. That's why I called you and messaged you. Well , just a request next time please don't ignore my messages after seeing them. It hurts. That's my condition today because I love you and you're not here with me. You'll realize it the day when you'll be away from me due to any reason or any work.. I know you too love me a lot and You'll be missing me and that time may be I'll be in the same state that I couldn't reply you even if you'll wish for my text or even if I would miss texting you. May me that day you'll realize " I said and sent it.

Things apart!! I typed a message again

" I love you " I typed and sent him and went out.

It was 9:30 pm.

I saw some women coming. She was not able to walk properly.
When they neared me I saw that one of them was pregnant and was in labor pain.

" Sister. Sister. Come here. " I shouted and ran towards her.

" You.. You Come here slowly " I said and we took her to the OT.

After labor pain of four hours she gave birth to a baby girl.

I did this. I was having a New life in my hands. I smiled seeing her.

I handed her to nurse who wrapped her in cloth. I cut the umbilical cord and took her in my hands.

"Congratulations. You're mother of a baby girl " I wished

How much I wanted to share this with Mahir but its okay. Not every time things go according to you.

"Nurse shift her to normal maternity ward room." I said

Sivni had an old government hospital...but the problem was there were only two doctors and they were also not available 24 hours.

I washed my hand and went to the room. Taking bath and changing my clothes I slept...without talking to Mahir..or I must say without seeing phone.

When I woke up, I was informed that Camp time was over. We can move to our places now only. I thought to surprise every one and specially Mahir , so I bathed quickly and changing in my dress I went out.

On the bus stand I saw a man waiting for someone in tension.

"What happened " I asked him

"My..my wife is very ill. And doctors from camp have gone...No one is available. Will you come with me" he asked.

I looked at him.

"How do you know I'm doctor " I asked

"You..you have this in your hand that's why" he said pointing my stethoscope.

"Madam.please come. She's very ill. Please" he pleaded joining his hands.

"Okay.. fine. Come" I said and he took me to his house. It was a very small house.

"This one." I asked

"Yes madam. She's inside " he told

Strange. There's no other home nearby. And no noise from inside. I stepped inside and as soon as I stepped inside...something hit me hard.

"Ah" I cried and every thing near me blackened and I fell unconscious on the ground.
