And So Romeo Forgot His Lines {Original Ending 1/2}
I ran out of my house, ignoring mother and daddy. I sprinted at top speed down the street all the way to Seamus’s house.
Would he do it?
Would he really do it this time?
I hoped not.
I got there, out of breath. “Alex?” Lizzy asked in confusion. She was getting the mail. “Seamus!” I cried. “What did he say when he got back?” She looked even more confused.
***Lizzy’s POV***
**A Few Minutes Ago***
The car pulled back into the drive way. Seamus got out of the car looking defeated. “Are you alright?” I asked gently, walking over to him.
He wrapped his arms around me tightly, surprising me. He never hugged me. I hugged him back tightly. “What’s wrong Shame?” I asked in concern. He shook his head. “Nothing. I love you Lizzy. Do you love me?”
What had gotten into this child?
“Of course!” I said in surprise. “Why wouldn’t I?” “I’m a bastard.” “No you are not!” I said fiercely. “I love you little tomato head,” I said, cracking a small smile. He smiled softly before heading towards the house. “I hope you always remember me Liz,” he said quietly before shutting the door.
Well that was a bit odd, even for Seamus.
I shrugged it off and went to get the mail.
***Alex’s POV***
Oh no. This was so not good. “We have to stop him!” I said desperately. “Stop him from what?” Lizzy asked in confusion. Tears rushed to my eyes.
“Before all we have is the memory of him.”
Her eyes widened in fear and understanding. “N-No. The gun is at my boyfriend’s apartment. He couldn’t kill himself!” I relaxed but only for a moment. “His pocketknife?” Her face went pale.
We ran inside the house.
“Seamus!” Lizzy yelled, knocking on his bedroom door. “Shame, are you in there?” She rattled the handle desperately. “Seamus!” she screamed, tears leaking down her face.
“What’s going on?” Josh asked, coming upstairs in confusion. “Josh knock it down!” she cried. “Liz, what’s wrong?” he asked. “My brother is in there! Knock the door down!” she begged.
Understanding lit his face.
He slammed on the door with his shoulders fiercely, trying desperately to knock it down. I could see Lizzy saying a silent prayer as she watched.
My own eyes were starting to water. “Seamus,” I whispered. He had to be okay. He just had to be. Because it was my fault if he wasn’t. Because I loved him and I was just to stubborn and selfish to admit it to him even when he deserved to hear it.
The door finally knocked down and we rushed inside. “SEAMUS!” Lizzy shrieked. I collapsed to my knees.
He was bleeding on the ground.
He was unconscious and had already lost a lot of blood. Josh whipped out his phone and dialed 911. Lizzy ran over to him and grabbed his shirts off the floor. She wrapped them tightly around his wrists, sobbing uncontrollably.
There was a handmade blanket placed over him and a picture. I crawled over to him and looked at it. It was him curled up asleep in his dad’s lap with Lizzy sitting next to them.
Tears raced down my face as I desperately brought my lips to his. He had to live. He just had to live. “Please Seamus. I love you so much,” I whimpered. “Please live!”
Paramedics rushed in a few minutes later, yelling things. One of them looked up at Lizzy, Josh and I. He gulped. “I’m so sorry,” he whispered. He took a deep breath.
“He’s dead.”
