And So Romeo Forgot His Lines {3}

***Seamus’s POV***
I went home and kicked off my shoes in the hall again. Lizzy was tapping her foot in the hallway. “Seamus, get your ass in here!” she growled.

Ah. Mr. Capria must have already called.

I followed Lizzy into the kitchen where we sat down. “Tell me why you’re being an annoying imbecile in another class?” “Because I can.” She crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow at me. “Well I might just have to report this to a certain someone.”

I waved my hand dismissively and produced a sheet to switch classes from my pocket. “Yea, whatever. Sign this.” Lizzy examined it. “Why are you switching classes?” And they called me the dumb one. “Because I don’t like the class.”

Lizzy scribbled her signature on the paper and handed it back to me. “But I do not want you to be trouble in that class too young man!” she yelled in my face. “Chill out bitch. I have ears,” I said, pointing to my ears.

She rolled her eyes and stood up. “What do you want for dinner?” “Tacos,” I answered immediately. She began to cook the meat while I grabbed myself a drink. “How’s school going anyways?” she asked. I shrugged. “Fine.” “What about your friends? Richie, Jay, and…oh, what was her name…you gave her hell growing up…”'

“Alex?” I offered with a smirk. “Oh for fucks sake Shame! Leave the poor girl alone!” I snickered. “No thank you Lizzy!” Life would be no fun if I left Alex alone. She was the leader of the preps. Annoy her, and they all hated you.

It was a good life.

Lizzy and I ate our tacos before I started to head upstairs. “Homework done?” she tried pathetically. I laughed. “Yea, right.”

I went upstairs and logged onto my computer. I brought up facebook out of boredom. I looked up Alex and went on over to her page. It was a picture of her in her cheerleading uniform. Typical prep. Her status was the lyrics to some mainstream song.

What a fool. Anyone could post on her wall. Grinning, I typed out “Last night was fun babe. Why won’t you add me?” and clicked “share”. I burst into laughter when people started commenting on it, asking her what the hell was up.

I logged out and texted Richie and Jay to come over. About 15 minutes later we were sitting outside smoking and talking. “Stupid preps. They’re taking over the school!” Jay said in annoyance. Richie and I agreed.

“Speaking of preps,” I said, nodding my head down the street. Alex and Paige were walking together, giggling and gossiping. “Let’s give them hell,” I said, smirking.

They got closer and Alex made a face at me. “What do you want?” she asked. “I want you to get off my damn lawn bitch.” She looked behind me at my house. “Ew. That’s your house? Ghetto.” I glared. “Sorry everyone isn’t as rich as you,” I said coldly.

***Alex’s POV***

His house wasn’t as scummy as I had always imagined, but it wasn’t exactly nice. It was small painted a dull blue with the paint chipped in areas. Windows had their blinds drawn so I couldn’t see inside. His lawn was overgrown and flowers were dying.

He had a small garage with a basketball hoop over it. The garage was open and there was a dirt black car parked inside. Seamus blew out smoke in my face and I coughed. “Fag!” I yelled. “Wow. Never heard that one before,” Richie said sarcastically.

Paige and I glared at him. “Just leave before you get hurt,” Jay said, flipping his greasy looking hair out of his eyes. “Just take a shower,” Paige snapped at him. The front door to the house opened and a young woman stood in the doorway.

She was glaring at Seamus. “What is going on out here?” Her voice sounded mature and her tone was strict and serious. “Bitch on my property!” Seamus said in a lame gangsta voice. She looked up at me and I remembered her from when we were a bit younger. “Hello,” I said in a polite voice.

“Hello there! Alexandria correct?” “Yes.” She smiled at me but frowned when she looked at Seamus. “Stop being an annoying shit,” she said. He shrugged and took a drag. “Get inside and leave these girls alone Shame. Now.” Seamus leaned back as his friends snickered.

“No thanks Lizzy. I’m comfortable here.” She gave a nasty look at him. Did anyone besides Jay and Richie like Seamus? Lizzy reminded me of the Paramore lead singer. Her appearance showed she was still pretty young but her eyes were aged.

She put her hands on her hips. “Inside. NOW!” Seamus kicked off his shoe and chucked it at the door. With a little yell, Lizzy hurried to close the door right before the shoes hit it. “And now that the bitch is gone,” he muttered and turned to me. “What are you doing down here? This is emo territory. You come on emo territory, you’re ours.”

You see, we divided territories with the emos. It was like an unspoken rule that the emos generally stayed to the ghettoes and middle class while the preps stayed to richer areas of the town. You just didn’t go in the other group’s territory.

However, Paige and I were walked to the purse store in town. You had to pass through the ghettoes to get there but it had adorable designer purses.

“Purse store,” I said simply. “Oh the purse store! Let’s go with them boys!” Richie said in a lame imitation of a gay guy’s voice. “Simply smashing!” Seamus said in a gay British guy’s voice. “You’re a Scottish fag. Not a British fag,” I pointed out. “Really? I had no idea I was Scottish. Thanks for telling me though!” he said sarcastically.

“Dude I’m hungry,” Richie said to Seamus. “Me too,” Jay said. “Let’s go eat,” Seamus offered and stood up. They stamped out their cigarettes and went inside without another word to us.

Ugh.

Emos.
