Everything is Gone

~Sam's Point of View~

As I run into the room I see Andy dead on the floor and Ariel with blood dripping down her chest, where an ax has penetrated, falling back into a wall.

"Ariel," I yell out. Jumping over Andy's body to my little sister. I crouch down to her level, placing my hands on her now cold face. I look and notice her eyes aren't focusing, she's not moving, and she's trying to speak, but it sounds more like a gargled choke as blood comes from her mouth. I could feel her getting colder as the seconds clicked by, until suddenly she was slumped over and cold as ice. She's dead. I can't let this affect me, knowing what I know now. I need to keep pushing through, and staying alive.

I turned back to look at Ava, who looked only slightly scared of what was happening.

"Sam! I just found Andy like this. Ariel was fighting off one demon and another one put the ax in her as I walked in," Ava explained to me.

"What happened," I asked.

"I don't know," She yelled back.

"How'd that thing get in? Where were you," I asked, trying to get more answers.

"I just went to get some water from the well. I was only gone maybe, like, two minutes," she said, defending herself, but something seemed off.

"You shouldn't have gone outside. Ava, we have to stay in here," I explained, I looked up at the window and noticed the salt had been moved, "Who did that".

"I don't know, maybe Andy or Ariel," she said.

"Ariel would never do that, and I don't believe that Andy would do that. Ava, that line wasn't broken when I left. Ava," I yell at her.

"What? You don't think that I," she asks, surprised.

"I'll tell you what I think: five months. You're the only one with all that time you can't account for. And that headache you got? Right when the demon got Lily," I yell back at her, my hands moving around as I talk, blood from Ariel's lips splattering the wall.

"What are you trying to say," Ava asks.

"What happened to you," I ask, hoping for truth.

"Nothing," she yells back at me. I stare at her, my eyes narrowing at his before she drops the act and laughs a little.

"Had you going though, didn't I," She wipes her eyes, "Yeah. I've been here a long time. And not alone, either. People just keep showing up. Children, like us. Batches of three or four at a time. Your sister started doubting me when we first met, I learned a little trick about blocking her ability to talk to you".

"You killed them? All of them," I ask, horrified by the answer.

"I'm the undefeated heavyweight champ," she says with a smirk.

"Oh, my God," I gasp out in shock.

"Don't think God has much to do with this, Sam,"

"How could you,"

"I had no choice. It's me or them. After a while, it was easy. It was even kind of fun. I just stopped fighting it,"

"Fighting what,"

"Who we are, Sam. If you'd just quit your hand-wringing and open yourself up, you have no idea what you can do. The learning curve is so fast, it's crazy, the switches that just flip in your brain. I can't believe I started out just having dreams. Do you know what I can do now,"

"Control demons,"

"Ah, you are quick on the draw," she puts her hand to her head, "Yeah, I'm sorry, Sam. But, it's over".

A cloud of black smoke returns to the window. Just as it is about to enter, Jake comes from behind Ava and twists her neck, killing her instantly. The demonic smoke leaves the window and disappears. I cast one last look at my baby sister, heartbroken that this has happened to her, and I did nothing to stop it. I lean down and kiss her forehead, tears threatening to fall out. Before getting up and turning to walk out the home with Jake.

"I think we can make it out of here now," I tell him.

"But the Acheri demon," Jake questions.

"No, no, no. Ava was summoning it, controlling it. It shouldn't come back now that she's dead. We gotta go," I tell him.

"Not "we", Sam. Only one of us is getting out of here. I, I'm sorry," he tells me.

"What,"

"I had a vision. That Yellow-Eyed Demon or whatever it was, he talked to me. He told me how it was,"

"No, Jake, listen. You can't listen to him,"

"S-Sam, he's not letting us go. Only one. Now, if we don't play along, he'll kill us both. Now, I-I like you, man. I do. But do the math here. What good's it do for both of us to die? Now, I can get out of here. I get close to the demon, I can kill the bastard," he tells me.

"You come with me, we can kill him together," I tell him.

"How do I know you won't turn on me? Your sister is dead, what's to stop you from taking the crown now," he tells me.

"I won't. She wouldn't want me to, we worked as a team to defeat him, and I want to keep doing that,"

"I don't know that,"

"Okay, look," I tell him, taking my knife out and showing it to Jake before I toss it to the ground, "Just come with me, Jake. Don't do this. Don't play into what it wants.

After a pause, Jake places his weapon on the ground as well. I feel relieved and let out a sigh.

"Okay," I tell him.

Suddenly, Jake punches me,with his super-strength causing me to go flying across the field. Jake approaches, kicking down the fence and leaning over me. I'm winded but know I can't let him get another hit in. I kick his legs out from under him and begin exchanging hits. I feel my shoulder coming out of socket when he catches me there, I jump up quickly, in severe pain and as Jake tries to punch me again I duck and Jake's hand goes through a wooden post holding him in place. I take this moment to grab the iron bar that Jake had on his waist and hit him knocking him out. I went to take another shot, one that could essentially kill him before I stop, and toss the bar to the side.

Suddenly I hear my name being called out, in a voice that has been so commonly heard I could pick it out of a crowd. Hearing him I turn towards him, clutching my bad arm, and staggering over exhausted from this whole ordeal. Bobby and Dean approach me, and I begin to notice that it's raining over us.

"Dean," I yell out, relieved that this nightmare is over. Dean's face morphs from relief to horror as he picks up his pace towards me.

"Sam, look out," he yells out, before I can even take into account what he is saying I feel something sharp penetrating my back and twisting. I fall to my knees in pain and gasping for air. I wonder if this is how Ariel felt in her last moments. I can feel Dean's grasp on me and his shaking to keep me conscious. His voice miles away, as I slump onto his shoulder.

~Dean's POV~

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, Sam. Sam! Hey! Hey, hey. Come here. Let me look at you," I yell at Sam shaking him. I place my hand on his back covering the wound and allowing my hand to be coated in his blood.

"Hey, look at me. It's not even that bad. It's not even that bad, all right? Sammy? Sam," I talk to him, his eyes getting hazy and head bobbing as he gets weaker, "Hey, listen to me. We're gonna patch you up, okay? You'll be good as new. Huh? I'm gonna take care of you. I'm gonna take care of you. I've got you. That's my job, right? Watch out for my pain-in-the-ass little brother".

I touch his face, it's now cold and his eyes are starting to shut.

"Sam? Sam! Sam! Sammy," his body then slumps forward eyes completely closed. Tears begin streaming down my face as I rock Sam in my arms now dead, "No. No, no, no, no, no, no. Oh, God. Oh, God".

"SAM," I cry out once more. Bobby comes back, and I begin to realize I haven't seen Ariel yet. My heart drops even deeper into my stomach, hoping and praying she wasn't in Sam's condition. I let Sam's body on the ground, tears still streaming down my face.

"Bobby did you get him,"

"No, he got away,"

"Did you happen to see Ariel," I asked him, hopeful of the answer.

"No, I didn't see her. I can go and look if you want," he offered.

"No, we will look together. Town looks pretty big, and there can be a lot of places to hide," I tell him, dear god let her be okay. I get up and look through the homes with Bobby, after I come out of the second house, Bobby is coming out of another, his face white and tears in his eyes.

"No," I take off and before I can walk past him he grabs my arm.

"Son, you don't want to see that," he tells me. I shrug his hand off of my arm and walk past him looking into the house. I turn to look in a room, two bodies lay on the floor, and one very familiar strawberry blonde lays against the wall. Blood covering her once pristine white dress and blood coming from her mouth. I turned out of the room and kicked the nearest wall, angry with myself for what had happened. Angry that I could not be there to protect my siblings, distraught because my only family was now dead, and I wasn't there to save them.

"What is your plan," I yell into the sky, "I have done everything asked of me and I still lose everything".

The air is silent, besides for Bobby's stifling. After a while Bobby and I search for a home with a bed. I place my two siblings on it, lost in my mind as Bobby goes and looks for food. This can't be real, and I believe I let them down again. I knew how to fix this, I just needed a moment to think it through. When Bobby came back things got heated and I told him to leave me alone with them. I needed to morn them and think of a better plan.
