Chapter one.
"Please your highness, I have no where else to go." Violet pleaded to her master, the Earl Alois Trancy. "It was not intentional my lord. Please find it in your heart to forgive me."
Alois scoffed as she spoke, annoyance and betrayal evident on his pale face. "No Violet, you have wronged me. Claude!" He shouted.
The tall butler, clad in black, appeared at the side of Alois as Violet fell to her knees, head in hands. He placed a hand over his heart and leaned forward in a bow. "Yes, your highness?" He asked.
Alois rolled his eyes at the pitiful sight before him and walked towards the window. "Show this stupid tart to the door. I want her out of my mansion. Now Claude!" He shouted.
Claude simply nodded his head and stood before the whimpering girl, towering over her. Violet slowly lifted her head and began to shake it vigorously.
"N-no p-please." She cried. "Claude, help me!" She said as she stood shackinly from the floor, but Claude looked down at her as if she were filth.
Claude simply narrowed his eyes and pushed his glasses back to their rightful place on the bridge of his nose. "That would go against my master's wishes, and that is a thought that would never occur to me." He said, malice dripping with every word. "Now, it is time you take your leave."
Violet clutched at her chest as a multitude of self questions ran through her head. What am I to do? Where am I to go? I have no where. She thought.
"That is no problem of the master's, nor mine. Now, I do not like to repeat myself." He said as he motioned towards the door.
Violet slowly nodded as defeat set in. It was utterly hopeless to beg for forgiveness, there was no repairing the damage she had brought upon herself.
She turned her head and took one last glance at Alois and the butler that forever remained at his side like a shadow. Alois scoffed and crossed his arms, rolling his blue eyes. Claude simply remained emotionless, as he always had been.
Violet hung her head in shame as she walked out of the room, guilt hanging over her like a curtain. She walked down the halls, taking in one last look of the manor, and slowly made her way to the lobby.
To her surprise, the triplets stood by the doorway with a small bag of what she were to assume were the small amount of belongings she possessed.
Canterbury tossed the black bag to her and whispered something inaudible to his brothers. Reluctantly, she caught the bag and held it to her chest and watched as Timber held open the door to the front entrance.
Without a single word, she stepped outside into the chilled winter air, receiving a slam from the large wooden door.
Violet sighed to herself and began the long treck to the inner city of London, not knowing where else to go.
As she walked, the sky began to grow darker and the air grew colder. She shuttered as the piercing wind kissed her face, leaving her pale nose to grow pink.
She sighed to herself once more, leaving pillows of breath in the night sky, and began to shiver. She certainly was not dressed for such a thing. For all she wore was a simple maids uniform and a thin cloak wrapped around her small frame.
She came upon an opening to the woods located a few blocks from the Trancy manor, when something caught her attention. It was a simple shilouette that appeared to be that of a child. It was sitting beside a tree, looking up at the night sky.
Violet shook her head as she made her way towards the child, suddenly stepping on a branch that had fallen from the nearest tree, causing a snap.
The child quickly turned their head towards her, fear evident on their face. Violet stopped walking for a moment and pulled her cloak closer to her body.
"I am not going to hurt you." She whispered quietly, but loud enough to where the child could hear her. The child nodded their head and Violet began to walk towards the small child again.
When she reached the child, the light of the moon glowed bright, revealing the child to be a boy around the age of thirteen.
"Are you alright?" She asked gently, not wanting to alarm the poor boy, as she sat beside him on the cold ground.
The boy looked up to the sky once more and nodded his head. "I suppose," he began. "But I seem to have gotten myself lost. I'm not quite sure where I am."
Violet furrowed her brows at his words. 'This child speaks rather proper for his age, he must be the son of a nobleman.' She thought. "What is your name?" She asked.
The boy looked back down to his feet and wrapped his small, gloved fingers around a blade of grass. "I am the Earl Ciel Phantomhive, may I ask of your name?" He said, looking up to her.
She took a breath as she took in his features. His hair was slate black with a hint of royal blue that came to the length of his shoulders in a neat way. His left eye was the deep color of azure, while his right eye was covered with a patch. His skin was pale and looked as if it were made of fine porcelain. He dressed as if he were a nobleman.
"Oh, do forgive me my lord. My name is Violet Ashmore." She said, pocking at a blade of grass as well. "Where do you live? How far are you away from home?"
Ciel plucked the grass from the cold ground, ripping it in half and turned towards Violet. "I live just outside of East London. I was in the city when I lost my butler and I somehow managed to find myself here." He explained.
Violet nodded her head understandingly. "Would you like some help finding your way home?" She asked.
"I suppose, as long as it is no inconvenience for you Miss Ashmore." He said.
Violet shook her head with a laugh. "Oh of course not my lord, I am lost as well. That is why I just so happened to find you, I was searching for a place to go."
Ciel nodded his head and began to stand, Violet did the same. She turned to begin the long treck to East London.
A soft breeze blew by and Ciel's head shot straight up into the night air, catching the scent of something sweet.
"Humans are so pathetic, don't you agree Violet?" Ciel said, his voice suddenly turning cold, as he placed a hand on her delicate shoulder.
Violet looked to her shoulder and the glove that once occupied his small hand was replaced with sharp, pointed black nails. She turned to face him, and stood frozen solid at what she saw. Ciel's left eye was a dark shade of crimson and his pupils were slit.
"C-ciel?" She whispered, her voice filled to the brim with fright. She could not comprehend what was happening. How could a humans eye possibly change colors like that?
"I must thank you for your kindness," Ciel began as he ripped his eye patch off, tossing it to the side carelessly. "I shall make this quick."
The next thing Violet knew, she was pinned to the nearest tree by the throat. Ciel's inhumanly strong hand was wrapped around her neck, cutting off her oxygen.
A smirk grew across his pale face, revealing two pointed canines. Violet shivered as realization set in. "A-m I g-going to... d-die?" She managed to whisper.
A chuckle erupted from the pit of Ciel's chest as his grip on her neck tightened. "I am afraid so Violet, I am a demon after all," he said as he snaked his unoccupied hand around her waist and up her back. "And demons have to eat too."
Violet's eyes became wider, as if that were possible, as she moved her hands along the tree, searching for something she could use as a weapon, but to no avail. It was utterly pointless.
Ciel noticed her desperate endeavour, and pinned her harder to the tree, earning a snap from her left arm.
Violet cried out in pain as her arm fell to her side in an odd way. Tears began to fall from her eyes with every scream that erupted from her burning throat.
Ciel cackled in laughter as he leaned into her neck, grazing her soft skin with his fangs. She whimpered under him as he did so.
"P-pleas-" She began, but was suddenly cut off. "Young master!" A deep voice called.
Violet looked up from the ground to see a tall shilouette of a man.
