chapter sixteen
As I look outside the window, fresh snow flakes are falling gently down onto the lightly blanketed grass.
My baby bump has grown, and I am now three months pregnant.
I feel Laurance pull me deeper into the bed, and I can tell he's half asleep still. "Go to bed."
I sigh, "Laurance, it's morning."
"I'll lay you down."
I stand up from his grasp. "You've already done that once Laurance. Why do you think I'm pregnant?"
I hear him chuckle quietly to himself, and I start to walk down the stairs. The wood under my feet is cold, but I strangely don't mind the temperature change from the floor and the bedsheets.
I smile when I smell the smell of waffles from the kitchen. Walking into the kitchen, I can see Vylad cooking. Alex casually sits on the counter smiling as they talked to one another.
I giggle, and they both looked at me with a smile.
That's when Alex decides to talk first, "It's the first day of December. Do you want me to sing a Set It Off song, or a Taylor Swift song?"
I shake my head. "Is neither an option?"
"Frozen songs are an option."
I grimace at the thought of someone singing Frozen songs. "Pass."
Alex was about to say something until Vylad shoves a waffle into her mouth. "Eat."
I walk to the refrigerator and grab the whipped cream and syrup. They're placed onto the counter, and I force Alex off. Butter is nearby and chocolate chips are too.
I grab a plate and begin to load it up with breakfast. Laurance decides to come into the room. He is grumbling from annoyance.
"I try to lay you down, and you leave the room," he mumbles to himself as he walks into the kitchen.
I watch all the color drain from Vylad's face. I think he's finally picking up on all the dirty jokes we're lying down.
Alex refuses to look up from her waffles. "Stop with the sex talk, Laurance. Some people are trying to eat in peace."
I almost choke on my waffle.

Vylad stands in the window, looking out in the direction of Aphmau's house. "Does anybody know why Katelyn is pinning Aphmau to the snowy ground?"
I shake my head no and snuggle deeper into my blanket. I looked at Laurance. "We need to start coming up with baby names."
He shrugs it off with a wave of his hand. "Give it some time Y/N. You still have six months until you're due."
Vylad and Alex left to go over by Aphmau's, leaving me alone with Laurance. I'm not complaining because I love him with all my heart, but I'm starting to get sick of him not letting me do anything.
Cuddling in his arms isn't doing it anymore. I want to go outside and play in the snow like everybody else.
I want to be able to help decorate the house for Christmas. And over all, I want to be able to do things I was able to do before.
"What's on you mind, Y/N?"
I looked up at Laurance and explain to him everything I feel. From not being able to do anything to how I think we should start planning for the twins.
Sometimes I feel like he just doesn't understand me. I suppose his version of 'taking it to the next level,' is by getting me pregnant. I had the thought that we would get married and then have children. Not the other way around.
I'll never be able to understand how men work. I know he cares and all, but. . . Ugh, boys stink.
He picks me up gently and carries me to my room. "What the hell are you doing? I'm already pregnant!"
He chuckles, "Not what you're thinking. We're going to get you dressed to go outside, and we're going to join the others in their snowball fight. Then afterwards, we can walk around Mystreet looking at all the different houses decorated. I heard Aaron's is really good. But then again, I heard Aaron's is really good every year."
I stop struggling in his grasp and nods my head. I think that sounds like a nice idea, and that's puts a prep in my step getting ready.
We step outside, and I instantly feel the difference in temperature. A snowflake falls on my nose and I smile as it melts from my body heat.
I feel like one of those characters from the Christmas movies where the character walks out, and it's like they're in a winter wonderland. At least, that's how I feel at this current moment.
I run over to Aphmau's house and join in the snowball fight and ignore the constant screams from Laurance telling me to "KEEP IT EASY!"
Laurance shortly after joins the boys' side, and Zane walks over. I can't help but feel bad when Aphmau throws a snowball at him and claims that the guys did it. Soon enough, Zane wants revenge to Garroth for making his one eye blind when we were children.
The girls and I watch as Zane constantly aims snowballs at the boys' eyes from the comfort of Aphmau's own home while we sip on hot chocolate.

Laurance and I are now walking around Mystreet, staring at the beauty we call Christmas decorations.
I can feel Laurance pull me into his chest and stop walking. I look back up at him and give him a puzzled expression.
He simply pulls me even closer and cups my cheek in his hand, "I love you Y/N."
"I love you too, Laurance."
As the snow gently fell down on us and the street remained quiet, we share a long and gentle kiss in the middle of the street.
Happy first day of December.
