Faces and Feelings...
He is not Atid. He just looks the same. Actually he doesn't. He is totally another face. Another personality. He must be stayed away from. His face is going to be easing pain inside. Trigger memories. Trigger suffering.
Kongpob dropped his forehead over the steering.
Then, what the hell was he doing here? He looked sideways, keeping his head on the steering. Looking at the Toledo University gate. And...
There He was again...
In a black jeans, white tee, grey casual jacket, and slip ons. His laptop sling intact. And this time he was wearing a black aviator.
He must know, how much those solid colours must suit him. Complimenting his pale skin tone.
Kongpob sighed, straightening on his sit, his eyes fixed, on the man. Who always seemed to be surrounded by the students.
Kongpob could only hold himself, for one day. He found himself, in front of the university. After realising he didn't sleep for two nights. And if Knott and the others knew, why he ditched them. They didn't make any comment on it.
The car's horn blared out of the blue, making Kongpob jolt on his sit.
"Jesus Christ..." Kongpob hissed under his breath. Grabbing his chest.
His heart was a heartbeat close to leaping out of his ribs. He drew in calming breathes. And looked sideways.
To find a pouting and crossed armed translucent form sitting over the companion sit. Gazing straight out of the windshield.
"What?" Kongpob sighed. Dropping his head, sideways.
He was replied with a glare, and instant cold shoulder.
"Are you jealous?"
"No." Atid snapped.
"Good." Kongpob nodded. "Coz apart from me being a creepy stalker, there's nothing, even slightly alarming."
"That explains your drool." Atid scoffed.
"Excuse me!" Kongpob tilted his head at Atid, incredulously.
"Excuse yourself, you pervert." Atid mumbled under his breath.
"I heard that."
Atid remained being his petulant self. Making Kong forget, that he wasn't here anymore. And the thought of their usual banters, tugged Kong's heart. Making him look away.
Atid's gaze can be felt on Kong's face. And, so could be his hurt.
"I am sorry, P'Kong... I keep forgetting my promises..." Atid gave a soft painful laugh.
"Let's go for a ride." Kong gave a soft smile, Atid's way.
"When are you starting your serial killer part-time again?"
Kongpob laughed, shaking his head, kick starting his car. Giving one last side glance at the man who was still busy with the students. Missing the soft smile, on Atid's face.
Kongpob decided that very night, he will avoid the university, the road and the very thought of that man.
The very next day...
Name: Arthit Rojnapat.
Age: 34
Qualification: Graduate in computer engineering.
Family: Parents died during early years of school. One distant uncle and his son..
Profession: Worked for a small company for four years. Then became a professor from the last three and half years.
Relationship: Single.
Lives alone in an apartment, near workplace. Very private person.
Kongpob groaned, dropping his head over the table. He was just out of his bath. Still in a towel and stalking a poor man. Who was six years older than him.
"You are a complete embarassment, Kongpob Sutthiluk." Atid shook his head, sighing and rolling his eyes in defeat.
Kongpob considerably replied him with a louder groan.
Second day....
Goes for a run, every morning. Comes back by seven, with a glass of pink milk.
Now, Kongpob didn't want to be judgemental. But, he was worried about the sugar intake. That man was practically an ant, in human form.
Goes for night outs at Friday and Saturday. To a particular club. Has limited number of friends.
Has tremendous hold on alcohol. More the reason for Kongpob to wonder, if he had his vital organs removed. No one can survive that amount of drinking.
"Such a dotting boyfriend." Atid mocked pride.
Kongpob glared at him. And Atid cocked his brow, challenging to defy.
Kongpob groaned, dropping his forehead over the steering again.
Third Day....
Kongpob cocked his head, frowning at the sight in front of him.
He didn't have any job that day. More like, he was pushed out of Knott's office. Because, he argued for being left alone.
Well. Knott granted his wish. Just took away his gun and combat knife in return. So apparently, he was left alone to do whatever he wants. Except for running solo operations.
And... Knowing Kongpob, Knott seized his room's card too. Kongpob was never contained to only signed arms. He. Did. Have guns and hand to hand combat supplies in his car. And... He was going to the club tonight. Alone.
But that wasn't the concern at the moment. The thing that caught Kong's attention, was in the open park. Kong has parked his car next to.
Giving... Self defence classes to woman and children. Of all ages.
And, Kongpob... Has never. Kongpob needed to repeat the word in his head. NEVER... Seen. Such... BRUTAL self defence training. Ever.
They were practically learning, how to physically harm the vital parts of the assaulters. To no coming back.
And Kongpob knew, whoever was going to attack this particular group. If someone ever did. Was going to face hell, in seconds.
That man. Was practically, teaching his students, the anatomy of a man's body and where it hurts the most.
Neck, nose, eyes and he was especially teaching tricks, to harm the groins, till they dropped and never got up.
Even to the kids. They were literally learning brutal attacks. There wasn't any sign of defence.
Kongpob highly appreciated and respected that man, that very second. He was using his liberty of being a man, to protect the others from his own species.
Kong would have called him a traitor, if he didn't realise. How, he must have trained Atid himself. He was too self contained to think that he was enough. And he lost Atid forever.
And now. Looking at Arthit, being a ruthless commander, preparing his army. Kong couldn't help but smile, leaning against his car and crossing his arms.
"Don't give them a clue that you can fight..." Arthit barked.
Making Kongpob jolt and come out of his thoughts. As he faced ahead. Watching Arthit drenched in sweat, in his black jogger and grey half sleeves tee shirt. His hairs wet and sticking over his forehead. His tee stuck against every curve of his hard abdomen.
The hopeless self of Kongpob was thrilled to look at the alluring expanse of those hard muscles. Drenched and glistening. The tee shirt hugging over all the right places.
But, the other side of Kong, frowned. Wondering, why a professor in his early thirties, needed all those precise muscles? And, what's with the brutal training?
"Give them a surprise, they don't expect." Arthit smirked.
Giving a smug side glance Kong's way. Then facing his students again.
Kong blinked, gaping. Cocking a brow. He smirked, licking his lower lip. Biting it between his teeths.
He scoffed next, dropping his head, nodding. Looks like he'd been. Busted.
"Grip on your panic... And never be kind. If someone even, LOOKS at you. The wrong way."
Kongpob raised his brows, snorting. Feeling those words jab against him. He must be in trouble.
"Will see you tomorrow."
Arthit dismissed the class. Kongpob watched, as everyone dropped where they were. The sight making him chuckle. Arthit. Was ruthless, to the bones.
"You are ruthless, Arthit." A middle aged woman, spoke Kong's mind.
"You'll thank me one day."
Arthit was collecting his things. Kneeling down. And Kong continued to watch every movement, with keen interest. Fascinated.
Each mone making Kong realise that Arthit and Atid, were worlds apart. In every universal senses.
He watched a little girl approach Arthit, with a towel. Arthit smiled at her, in reply. Kong blinked, feeling a strange ripple in him. Arthit smiling in a heart felt way, with his dimple. Was a beautiful sight.
Kong watched, Arthit thanking the little girl. Taking the towel. And then he spoke something to the kid. Kong gaped as the kid snapped her gaze at Kong.
Kong looked around, to find no one apart from him. And, the very next moment. The kid was marching towards him. In a pink tight and navy tee with white and blue sports shoes. Her ponytails swinging.
Kongpob would have found the sight cute. If not for the glare that was being shoot his way. And a smirking Arthit, with crossed arms, keeping a close eye at the kid. While the whole group's eyes were set Kong's way.
He followed his instincts and squatted just the moment, the kid reached him.
And Kongpob was lucky he did. Because he was thrown a punch, with a cute little fist. The moment the kid reached. Kong took the cute impact of the punch, on his open palm, purely on reflex.
Without blinking his eyes. Smiling in surprise. Cocking his brows.
"Hey, nice to meet you too."
Kongpob dodged another punch, this time with his forearm. Chuckling. His defences seemed to have rose the kid's chagrin. And he was rained with continuous punches.
Those punches weren't calculated or precise, so Kongpob had to focus harder to defend himself. Only for his defenses to make the cute round face, go red in anger.
"Stay away from my Uncle Arthit." The girl cried, through her punches. "You creepy man."
Kong chuckled, finally gripping the fists and locking the jumping shrimp.
"Let go of me..." The girl didn't cry, instead she kicked Kongpob's shins.
And those hurt. What was that man teaching them?
"Come on... I was here to watch your classes..." Kong grinned, enjoying the banterings he was having with the kid.
"You are lying..." The girl glared. "And how are you stopping my fists?"
That was half possible because the girl was the height of his knees. And also because, she was hundred years too younger.
"That's called defending." Kongpob replied, not being a fool to loose his focus.
This girl was reminding him of his knives. Small but fatal.
And, looked like his words caught the kid's attention. As she blinked at him, in wonder. Her kicks finally stopping. As she stopped and faced Kongpob. Calmly. Her hands still in Kong's grip. As she panted. Staring back at Kongpob.
Modern women. Tempted with the Idea of kicking asses, instead of pink plushies... What times!!!
"What is that?" The kid looked interested.
Kong gave his charming smile (without his knowledge, ofcourse). "That's when you can stop someone's punches. And punch back, just as harder."
The girl frowned deeper. Visibly calming down.
"I can teach you." Kongpob volunteered.
"You know how to fight?" The looked at him, with wide worshipping eyes.
Kongpob smirked. "A little bit."
"So, if I learn. Will I be able to punch you?"
Kongpob gaped. But nodded. "Of course. You'll be."
"Than I'll learn." That kid grinned.
Kong grinned back, shaking his head. "But before that. Tell me your name."
"It's April Woods."
"Hello April. Wanna be friends?"
April smiled, nodding. Kongpob came to his feet, holding April in his arms. Facing a jaw dropped Arthit. With chuckling female population.
Kongpob smirked, shrugging at Arthit. With a cocked brow.
"Now April. Tell me your uncle's name." Kong didn't leave Arthit's gaze.
"Arthit Rojnapat." April replied instantly.
"Uncle Sun?"
April giggled, nodding.
Kongpob didn't leave Arthit's gaze. Looking at him, slowly clench his jaws, still with crossed arms.
"What time does your uncle, give you lessons?"
"Every weekend. 4 pm, sharp."
"April." Arthit snapped. "Come back here. You little traitor."
Kong chuckled, putting down April. Who rushed back towards Arthit. Who was fuming in anger.
Arthit pointed a warning finger towards Kongpob. Glaring. Kong raised his arms in defence, instantly. Biting back his smirk. While he watched Arthit walking away, holding April's hand.
April looked over and gave a short wave at Kong. He smiled, waving back. Looking at the retreating form.
He enjoyed himself, for the first time in a very, very long time. Forgetting everything. Kong looked over, getting in his car and froze. Looking at Atid smiling at him. Hugging his stomach.
Kong felt selfish and horrible. But Atid smiled wider. Kongpob gaped at him, then at his arms. Hugging his tummy, protectively.
"Atid." Kongpob whispered.
"You'd have made a great father."
Kongpob's jaws dropped. And his eyes moistened, instantly. Getting slapped with memories.
"I miss you." Atid was crying.
Kongpob wanted to hold him. But he knew, he never could. It was getting dark. And Atid's silvery form looked unreal.
"I am not trying to pull you back, P." Atid whispered. "I am just feeling hopeless and stuck.... Am stuck, P. And it's hurting. Watching you, but not being able to hold you."
"What do you want me to do, Atid?" Kongpob whispered.
"I want you to stop looking guilty, everytime you see me." Atid smiled, cupping Kong's face.
Kong closed his eyes, feeling the cold caress.
"I want you to forgive yourself.... Because, if you did... I can forgive myself too."
Kong's lips trembled. Looking at Atid. Smiling at him. Atid was always kind. His world, revolved around Kong. Even after dying. So, Kong knew. Atid was hurting, with all the hurt. That Kongpob was nurturing in himself.
"Atid... I am sorry."
"Don't be, P. And even if you are. Fine. Listen to me very carefully.... I forgive you..."
"And I felt so happy. Looking at you smile again."
"I want you to be your cheerful self again. With everyone. Even me.... That's going to be my only salvation."
"I can't fall in love again."
Atid snorted. Baring his teeths. "Give yourself a chance... This life, is too beautiful, to waste mourning over something that is never coming back."
"Don't say that."
Atid kissed Kong's lips. And Kong closed his eyes, feeling the chill. Warming his heart.
"Start living again... Like you did, just moments back."
"Then I won't be able to see you again." Kongpob tried grabbing the ghastly wrists. Failing visibly.
"I am always around. Like a blessing. I will always be with you baby.... And I will keep praying. To be yours again. If I ever get the chance."
"I don't want to let you go, Atid." Kongpob panicked, turning Atid's way. "Please don't go."
"You have to... If not Today... Than, one day. I don't belong here. I am just here for you."
"I love you, Atid. I miss you so much." Kong hovered his hand over the ghastly cheek. And Atid nudged. With tearful eyes.
"I love you till death and back."
"Why does it sound like your goodbye?" Kongpob frowned, trying to grab the misty form.
Atid kept looking at Kongpob, with his soft smile. Still leaned against the touch...
"Does it?" Atid winked.
"Baby... I am sorry. I will never visit this place or go anywhere near..." Kongpob gulped a lump. "Arthit. Again. I promise."
"And. Go back to being a bloodthirsty predator?" Atid chuckled. "No, thank you."
"There's nothing... I don't know what I am doing these days, but trust me. There's nothing." Kongpob tried to grab the form, desperately.
"Calm down Kongpob. You sound like a cheating husband, trying to save himself from alimony." Atid laughed. "Dead people don't demand alimony, by the way."
"That's not funny, Atid." Kongpob frowned.
"Come on. That is a little bit funny." Atid scrunched his face, laughing harder.
"That's not." Kongpob shook his head, looking ahead. Starting the car. Rubbing away his tears.
"That is." Atid laughed.
"No." Kongpob pursed his lips.
"That is... Besides, you two compliment each other. In so many ways."
Kongpob hit the brakes, snapping his gaze at Atid. Atid was smiling softly at him. Leaning sideways against the car's sit.
Kongpob gaped at him, tilting his head. "What the hell is that supposed to mean?"
Atid kept looking at Kongpob. With his intense stare. He always used to give, whenever he was fascinated by Kongpob. And was set on remembering every feature of Kong's face.
"That is for me to know." Atid winked.
He was gone the next moment. Like he wasn't here. Ever.
"Atid... Get your ass back here." Kongpob snapped.
All he was replied with, was soft laughter, that rang through the car. Making Kongpob groan and drop his forehead over the steering wheel. Again...
