Daddy's Cupcake.

Adam groaned, feeling a heavy thing drop over him. He was tired with all the works. And his recent break up. He just wanted to get some sleep... But, that seemed impossible too.

He peeked through his covers. Looking at the round messy haired face grinning at him.

"Leah? Let me sleep."

The pretty pink lips formed a pout. "You promised to take me to a park."

"In the evening, sweetheart... It's morning."

"Daddy please." Leah's deep blue, big eyes pooled in tears.

"Don't cry." Adam sighed. Hugging the small body closer. "Fine... Fine. Let's go."

Adam was replied with a tight kiss on his cheek. And soft giggles, as Leah rushed down the bed. Leaving back a sighing Adam. Who regretted always falling for the same trick.

"Stop running Leah." Adam called. Watching Leah run about.

Adam's sister and her husband died in an accident. Leaving behind a house. And an year old daughter. Adam's only family. Leah.

He watched the three year old with a smile. As she rummaged about, excited for her day out. Adam sighed. Well. It can't be helped.

"Daddy wear pink shirt. We match."

Adam, nodded going down. With an evil grin. "But... Before that... It's tickle time Leah. For waking Daddy up."

Leah screamed and laughed, running around the whole house trying to get away from the clutches of Adam.

"I got you... Leah..." Adam made the sound of a Monster.

Making Leah squeel louder, as she ran about the living room. Without noticing two new people walk in. Leah ran towards Bright and his girlfriend Marilyn. Thinking she could hide behind Bright.

"Adam stop harassing the poor kid." Bright scolded.

Adam tilted his head at his friends. While Leah stood in front of Bright. Sticking her tongue out at Adam.

"Remember you promised that we'd do the tickle time, together?" Bright wriggled his fingers.

Leah gaped wide eyed over her shoulder, at Bright. Then bolted the other way screaming.

"Daddy, uncle Bright. Stop it."

Marilyn sighed, shaking her head. As she watched two grown man and a little child turn the whole place down. Screaming and laughing.

"I'll be off for two days. You sure you'd be okay?" Adam asked. Keeping an eye on Leah who was running around the open park.

"I'll be fine. Don't stress." Marilyn assured.

"I am her boyfriend, you ass. Ask my permission." Bright glared standing in front of them.

Adam narrowed his gaze, putting an arm around Marilyn, pulling her closer. With a smirk. Raising a brow.

"She is like a mother to Leah. Remember that right?" Adam tilted his head. "And I am already Leah's dad. So..."

Bright clenched his jaws. Marilyn sighed. While Adam was grinning.

"You..."

Adam bolted away, Bright right behind, like a raging Bull. Ready to kill anyone. And Leah decided to join the fun. While Marilyn laughed. Watching them.

They failed to notice the group of men, keeping an eye on Marilyn. Maybe they should have.

"Be a good girl, Leah... Don't trouble Marilyn much, okay?"

Leah nodded, as Adam tied her brunette hairs in braids. She was sitting over Adam's lap, her back towards him. She was very quiet. And Adam knew she was upset. From the moment she woke up and saw Adam's duffle bag ready. Almost crying when she saw Adam in his dark suit. She knew Adam would be away. And she didn't like it.

"Daddy will be back soon. Okay love?"

Leah nodded again. Her small head bobbing. Adam chuckled, shaking his head. Kissing the back of Leah's head.

"Come on... Up you go." Adam turned Leah over, making her sit. Facing Adam this time. "Give me a kiss."

Adam pouted his lips down towards Leah. While she kept staring back with puffy cheeks. Frowning.

"Don't go." Leah cupped Adam's face, with her tiny hands. "Please don't go."

Adam kissed her nose tip. Hugging her against his chest. "I'll be back in a blink. See. You'll sleep tonight and only tomorrow you won't find me on my bed... And then, you sleep tomorrow at night again... And then when you wake up.... I'll be here."

Leah shook her head, clinging closer to Adam. While he caressed and kissed her tiny head. He didn't want to go. But he had to. He was still an intern. And he had to follow what the boss asks.

The doorbell rang. And Adam came to his feet, holding Leah. Who hugged around him, instantly.

Adam opened the door, to find a surprised looking Marilyn and Bright. Adam sighed, caressing Leah's back. And shrugging at his friends.

"Come on, Leah. Daddy needs to go." Marilyn approached her arms.

Adam watched her. She was wearing a lilac dress. Choosen by Leah and Adam himself, on her last birthday. Her blonde hairs tied in a ponytail. Her blue grey eyes sparkled, as she took away Leah. With her bright smile. She was a beautiful woman, in both heart and other aspect.

She was their neighbor. Living alone. And unluckily his best friend's girlfriend. Adam didn't love her, per se. But, he did appreciated her efforts a lot. His sister knew this woman from way back. And after their death, Marilyn took it on her, for being available for Leah. And Adam.

Later, Bright introduced her as his girlfriend. Adam was a little bit jealous. Okay. Maybe a lot. But that was years back. Bright was still jealous though. Because, Leah did call her mom sometimes. And Adam took pleasure in making Bright's life hell, those moments.

Adam snapped out of his thoughts, wincing. When Bright kicked him on the shin. He glared at Bright. Who glared back.

"Stop daydreaming about my girlfriend." Bright hissed.

Adam sighed, shaking his head.

"Stop it. Both of you." Marilyn glared.

Adam and Bright, stood sideways, facing her.

"Say goodbye to your father." Marilyn coaxed Leah.

Leah spread her arms towards Adam. Who hugged her tightly. Receiving his much awaited kiss on the lips.

"Stay good okay?" Adam stared at the blue eyes. "I'll be back soon. Don't trouble Marilyn and Bright much."

Leah nodded. Going back to hug around Marilyn. Who waved as Bright and Adam, stepped out together.

"Where are you going?" Adam frowned at Bright.

"I am visiting my sick grandmother. She is in hospital. I got a call this morning."

Adam stared back at Marilyn in worry. Who chuckled, waving off.

"We'll be fine. Right, Leah?"

Leah nodded. Staring unblinking at Adam. Even Marilyn gave a sweet smile Adam's way. And they heard a growl besides. Making them chuckle.

"We'll be at my place. And I'll lock your house properly. Don't worry."

Adam nodded. Taking his duffle and laptop bag. Waving at his daughter and Marilyn.

"Daddy, where is it?" Marilyn called.

Adam chuckled, facing his pouting daughter. And pulled out a mask from his pocket, putting it over his face.

A black mask with a bright yellow smiley on it. Leah chose for him, from a mall.

And Leah finally smiled at him, resting against Marilyn's shoulder.

"Whistle, Daddy." Leah demanded.

Adam laughed, nodding to the demand and started whistling, Rock-A-Bye-Baby.

Leaning over, levelling his face with his daughter. Who stared at him in wonder. With a smile. Her blue eyes sparkling as she stared at his hazel ones.

Leah sighed in contentment, listening to her father's whistling. And Marilyn snorted looking at the sparkly eyes of the three year old, having her first Crush, on her father.

Marilyn remembered the feeling. Even she had her first Crush on her dad. He was Marilyn's superhero. And Leah here, was obsessed with the pale man.

"I love you, Daddy." Leah flew a kiss towards Adam. When he finished.

"I love you more, princess." Adam copied Leah's gesture.

Bright walked ahead, pushing Adam away from the girls. And left a kiss on Marilyn's lips. And one on Leah's forehead. Ignoring Adam's unamused glare.

"I'll be back by tomorrow. Okay?" Bright nudged his nose against Marilyn's.

Marilyn nodded. And pushed a reluctant Bright away. Chuckling, when Bright whined. And Adam had to pull him, grabbing his collar. Snapping at him. To shut up.

Adam took one last look at his daughter. As he walked away. Dragging a man child.

Marilyn and Leah watched the bickering men get in the cab. And wave at them. They waved back. And Leah continued drooping.

"Cheer up. He'll be back soon." Marilyn caressed Leah's back.

Leah nodded. Hugging around Marilyn. As she sobbed. Marilyn sighed, caressing her back. She didn't know what triggered the abandonment this little girl was feeling.

"I miss him." Leah cried.

"He just left honey." Marilyn chuckled. "And you know Daddy gets upset when little Leah cries, right?"

Leah nodded, against the crook of Marilyn's neck.

"Then smile. Come on, show me your smile." Marilyn tickled Leah.

Who started giggling and struggling in Marilyn's arms. While she chuckled. Until Leah finally went straight and faced her.

"Do you love your daddy?" Marilyn tilted her head, playfully.

Leah nodded enthusiastically. With dreamy eyes.

"How much?"

"This much." Leah spread her arms, as far as she could. "He is my superhero."

"Is he?" Marilyn gaped.

"Yes." Leah nodded again. "And, I am gonna marry him, when I grow up."

Marilyn laughed, throwing her head back. As she started walking back inside the house, carrying Leah.
