Part 1
Delhi
Sunday
Shantivan
Morning vibes hit the Mansion hard. Everyone in the Mansion woke up and was done with breakfast. Soon, the sky was hit hard with thunder. Hari Prakash is busy with Laxmi watching television, which by the way is re-telecasting an old show, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon. They are so lost in SaRun's world. Yet they came out of their own world listening to the thunder. However, there are two people who haven't come out of their world yet. As the sky is thundering giving rise to the roaring sounds, even sky hid behind the dark clouds. As if it's scared with the upcoming storm. True to it, a storm is going on in the Mansion. But whatever was happening in the Mansion was just a trailer to the upcoming storm.
"No, Nani. I won't come."
"You have to come. I won't listen to you this time."
"I won't, Nani. Just because today is Sunday and I'm free which is, by the way, turned out to be lucky for you; I won't come."
"This is the only Sunday you are available in the home. Why don't you come? It's just a marriage."
"Nani, please. Don't go with the quote 'Try and try until you get success.', because that's not going to work with me."
"Seriously! I'm just telling you to come to Marriage. Not to get married."
"And I know very well about you. I'll come to somebody else's marriage and end up going on a date with someone."
Nani sighed at her. She can't possibly have an argument with her and run out winning. Because she knows that's not going to happen. Her Daughter's Amanath will win in the end. The only way to make her agree is, just blackmail.
"Look, beta. If you don't come, I swear on myself, I'll not go to the doctor next week." And that did the work. Her eyes shot up. She knows her Grandmother very well. She will do anything to have things her way. Blackmailing tops the list. And she couldn't help but agree with her. What can she do?
"Okay, Nani. We are going," she announced as she groaned.
And soon she disappeared into her room upstairs. Meanwhile, Akash and Anjali sighed in relief as if they got saved from the war. True to it, they got saved. After all, Devyani's blackmail never backed out from completing its work.
Upstairs
"Jai Prakash!" she screamed as soon as she entered her room.
Jai Prakash who was in the Kitchen all the while came running to her room, as if his tail caught fire.
As he reached upstairs, he knocked on the door gulping down the lump he had. That's the effect of being a loyal servant of Kiran Gupta's family.
"Come in," she barked.
"Yes, Madam?" His voice shivered as he said this looking around the room if he had done any mistake in misplacing the things.
Khushi Kiran Gupta slowly turned towards Jai Prakash and narrowed her eyes at him making JP squirm in his place. Such was the aura she carries around her. She can make anyone lose their confidence by just a single glance.
"Why is that magazine book on my recliner and not on my study table?" she asked calmly. But that calmness never gave the required confidence to Jai Prakash. As his eyes went towards the recliner, he gulped down his saliva in fear.
How come he did that mistake. Taking care of Khushi Kiran Gupta's room when she is not at home for days, is his work. Just in the morning, his boss came to the home after some tiring days in her Office. She's hell tired. She is hell angry. Angry because she had an argument with her grandmother as soon as she came home. And don't know what she will do. Angry+Tired Khushi is more than dangerous.
"Jai Prakash. Aaj toh teri Prakash ki jai nahi, raam raam saty ho jayega," he thought internally.
(Jai Prakash, seems like your 'prakash' will not get 'jai' today. Instead, Ram Ram saty will happen it seems.)
"I'm sorry, Madam." He bowed down his head as he said that.
"Is that enough?" she asked at which Jai Prakash lifted his head.
"No, Madam. I'll keep that in my mind not make any mistakes further," he said and went towards the recliner. He took the Magazine and kept it on her study table.
"Go now," she said.
Jai Prakash just needed that one word badly as if he needed some water in Sahara Desert. And soon, he ran out of the room with the same speed he entered into the room.
Khushi shook her head and walked up to her cupboard. She took her casuals and went into the washroom to have a much-needed bath.
After sometime,
She came out of the washroom after a needful bath. She went towards her balcony and stood to gaze out. As the rain-drops touched the soil, she breathed in taking the smell. Rain, it's one of the things she enjoys. It gives her peace. Listening to the sound it leaves, the thunders, everyhing about the rain, she liked it. However, she still doesn't like to get wet in the rain. It just irritates her. Makes her angry. Makes her vulnerable. Yes, she loved the rain and at the same time, hates it.
Khushi Kiran Gupta.
She's known as KKG to the world. She is born with a silver spoon in her mouth. That doesn't mean she won't know what the hard work is. Because, she does. She became a KKG only after breaking several times by several people. Nobody noticed her failures, her struggles. They wanted only her success. Even she wanted that. But she doesn't know that for getting success, she had to suffer. She did. She suffered. The struggle is still okay. But suffering, no one should suffer to get success. But she did. That too, in the worst way. She knows exactly how the world is. To fight them, she had to wear the mask. Mask of no emotion. So that no one can make her feel vulnerable. Yet she did.
She sighed putting a break on her thoughts. She has to get ready for the marriage now. She rolled her as she went towards the cupboard. As soon as she opened, a bright red and pink lenenga flashed in front of her eyes. And she saw red. No, it was not Lehenga. It was her temper.
"Nani!" she screamed.
"Nani!" Again.
Devyani Singh Rathode who heard her granddaughter scream slowly started entering the room. All the while, hiding outside the closed door, waiting for the shout. As she heard that after 10 minutes or so, she entered the room. After all, she is the head of the family. She is not afraid of anyone.
"Yes, beta?" Nani smiled at her.
"What is that lehenga doing in my cupboard? When I took casuals, it was not there," she stated.
"That's because I haven't put the lehenga at that moment," DSR said.
"So, you have put it when I was bathing."
"No. Absolutely No. When did I say that?" Nani frowned. Well, that was an acting.
"So, you mean, this Lehenga jumped in my cupboard by its own?" she snorted.
"What are you saying, beta? I thought you are 3rd class passed student," Nani said hiding her smile.
"What?" Khushi was confused.
"What what, beta?" Nani is hell-bent on riling up Khushi further.
"What is the relation between the 3rd class and Lehenga?" she asked gritting her teeth.
"Don't you know that," she asked.
"Nani," she warned.
"I mean, you only said that the lehenga might walked by its own. But even 3rd class students know that Lehenga is a non-living thing. And Non-living things doesn't walk or talk," Nani said blinking her eyes innocently.
"Nani, don't act smart," Khushi said sighing.
"I don't need to act, beta. Your Nani is already smart," she said praising herself.
Khushi rolled her eyes at that and said, "So, can I know how exactly this smart woman in front of me managed to put that lehenga in my cupboard?"
"No." Khushi was denied outright.
"What the-?" Khushi was cut off by Devyani.
"Don't use foul words in front of me, Khushi Kiran Gupta," Nani said.
"Fine. Can you please tell me," she asked.
"Yes, definitely. Now that you said please. I'll tell you," she said sitting on the recliner.
Khushi waited for her to speak.
"Actually, I took Laxmi's help to put it in your cupboard. So, blame laxmi and not me," Nani said.
"What's the use? Laxmi is anyway your puppet only," she murmured.
"Anyway. I've get ready. Leave all that," Khushi said sighing away while Nani beamed in happiness.
"So, you are going to wear the red lehenga. Wow, that's great," Nani grinned.
"Don't be too happy, Nani. I'm not going to wear that thing," she said raising her brows.
"What? What does that mean? Will you come in your jeans and shirt?" Nani asked slightly furious with her granddaughter, her daughter's Amanath.
"No, Nani. Of course, I'll wear lehenga. But not that bright one," she declared. Devyani Singh Raina has nothing to do other than feel dissatisfied. But at least, she is happy that she is wearing Lehenga. It has been years Khushi attended a wedding.
Devyani left the room after telling her to get ready soon.
Khushi closed the door and went towards her wardrobe. She took a very dull colour not to attract anyone her way.
Grey Lehenga.
She took that and went to get ready.
Marriage ceremony.
Akash, Anjali, Devyani and Khushi reached the wedding venue on time. There is still some time for the auspicious time. Khushi on the other hand is irritated with the noises and colourful sight. All she wanted to do is walk away from wedding venue. Thanks to her Nani! Her bad luck.
"Devyani-Ji, please come," Bride's father and mother welcomed them.
As they entered, few eyes turned towards the woman in red while few eyes turned towards the woman in grey. However, both the woman ignored their looks and followed their grandmother.
Soon they were engrossed in some gossips. Slowly, Akash, Anjali and Khushi escaped from the gossiping group. All went different ways. Akash went to have some soft drinks. Anjali went to have a look at the decoration and meet some friends of her. She knows even if she want to go with Khushi, she will be denied. It will be better if she gives Khushi her much-needed time. Khushi went to a corner to have her privacy away from the hawk like eyes.
Still, a chocolate brown eyes didn't miss her slightest moment from the time she entered in the wedding hall. Even though, she wore a dull colour and no jewellery except her earrings and a bracelet with watch, she looked gorgeous. She looked beyond angel. Maybe that's her skin tone or the peeking waist that added beauty to her or maybe the pink lips or hazelnuts that added elegance to her, he didn't know. Whatever it was, she is just so beautiful. Beyond glamorous.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Anjali was busy admiring the flowers on the wall when she was disturbed.
"Hi, Ms Beautiful lady," Anjali heard someone call her. She turned towards him only to see a handsome guy grinning at her. Is he mad? Why is he showing his teeth to me? I'm not a dentist for god's sake. She thought before responding to him plastering a fake smile.
"Hello!" Anjali greeted him back.
"Can I know what's this beauty's name?" he asked trying to flatter to her.
"Who's beauty here, btw?" Anjali asked looking around as if searching for someone.
"Areey, you only. Can you see anyone more beautiful than you?" he sugar-coated her.
"Oh, really? Thank you so much." Anjali flashed a big smile towards him which is nothing but a fake.
"Really," he said.
"Thank you, again."
"Btw, what do you do?" he asked curious to know if she's rich or not. If she is not rich, she is not the fish he wanted to catch.
"Me? I- Actually, leave about me. Tell me about yourself," she grinned at him.
"Me? Oh, I'm a police officer," he said.
"Police, really? Wow, that is so cool. But why do you chose the police? You must be brave, hai na?" she asked.
Me and Brave? He laughed internally.
"Yes, I'm brave," he said instead.
"Oh, is it? Which batch are you?" she asked flashing a fake smile.
"89," he said.
"Oh? 89? Even my sister is of the same batch. So, you must know her," she said.
"What? Your sister is the police?" he asked, sweat dripping from his forehead.
"Yeah. In fact, she is here, only. Wait, let me call her." She turned towards the crowd to search for her sister.
Meanwhile, the guy who was flirting with her few minutes started wiping his sweat.
"Madam, what's the need for it? Actually, you know, I became police without training," he said smiling nervously.
"What? Without training? How?" she asked acting shocked.
"Actually, voh..leave it, Madam. I'll take your leave now." He started walking away when Anjali stopped him.
"Hey, hello. Where are you going? Answer me and go. And what is with Madam?" she demanded.
"Look, Madam. You are not beautiful anymore. I'm sorry. Leave me. I don't like you. I mean, I have found more beautiful girl than you,"
"What the f-? Who is she?" she asked angrily as he indirectly insulted her? She is the one who has to insult him. Not the other way around. How dare he? She thought furiously.
"Look, over there. The girl in Grey lehenga." He pointed over to a girl in her mid-twenties.
As Anjali looked at her, she stopped herself from chuckling.
"Oh? She? Yeah, she is beautiful," she said and before she can say more, the guy disappeared and is on his way towards the girl.
Anjali is waiting for the next episode, quite excited.
As the guy reached the Grey Lehanga girl, he flashed a smile before saying, "Hi!"
Khushi Kiran Gupta was bored in the marriage and was away from the crowd standing aside just thinking about nothing when she heard a voice. She turned towards the voice only to look at a guy flashing his teeth.
"Hi," he said.
"I'm not dentist. Please search someone who is actually dentist. No need to flash your teeth in front of me. It's of no use," she said without a smile.
He ignored the part as he is quite smitten by her beauty.
"If you smile, you will look beyond gorgeous," he said.
"I know. Thanks, anyway," she said turning her back to him.
"My pleasure, gorgeous," he said.
"Well, look brother. If you want to have some children with your wife, please go from here. If you don't, I'm not sure what will happen to you," she warned.
He still ignored her and was going to touch her hand gazing at her from up to down.
Khushi sighed and grabbed his hands after making sure nobody is noticing. After all, she is not here to create drama. But in that process, the chocolate-brown eyes widened at the sight. He slowly followed them and what he saw made him burst into peals of laughter.
The guy couldn't scream anymore because his mouth was closed by her hands while he clutched his private part in pain.
"I warned you. Haven't I? Don't you dare come across me again. Or else you will be behind the bars," she said and left him there to continue with the ceremony as if nothing has happened a few minutes back. True to it, it was nothing to her.
All the while, the mesmerized brown orbs haven't left her sight even for a second.
The ceremony continued with him admiring her and her avoiding public.
Morning
Next day
CBI, Delhi.
11:00 AM
Khushi is sitting in her chair going through the latest report she got. She is late today. Thanks to the reception after the marriage ceremony. Her grandmother didn't let her leave. All the evening, clasped to her like glue. And also she couldn't forget yesterday's night ever. She broke her thoughts as she heard a knock.
"Yes, come in."
Soon, Arnav came into the picture and her figure in jeans attracted him.
"What is it?" she asked not looking up at him burying her face into the reports.
"Madam, the assistant cum Junior Inspector our SSP sir said about, is here and joined in his duty. May I send him in?" he asked after coming out from the la-la land.
"No need. I read his report already. He just needs to report to any senior inspector. Since he reported to you —Khushi paused for his response and Arnav nodded his head— So, there is no need for him to come to me," she finished.
"Okay, Madam. As you say," he said.
While Khushi who was curious to know the guy who managed to impress Senior Superintendent of Poilce that he has decided to make him her assistant and a SI soon, she got up from her chair and looked out from her chamber to see any new guy. Soon, her eyes caught a guy in white shirt and black jeans. He was talking to the few Junior Inspectors who are ladies. It seems like he's enjoying the attention and is flirting with them. She got angry. This is Bureau, not his home to go against work etiquette.
Khushi turned towards Arnav and asked, "Is he the guy who joined here?"
Arnav nodded gulping down the lump.
"Call him." Her hands were fisted as her eyes glared at him.
Arnav went out to call the guy.
Soon after, she heard a knock again.
"Come in," she responded.
"Good Morning, Madam. You called me?" he asked.
"Yeah."
"May I know the reason, Madam?" he asked.
"Why did you join the bureau?" she asked.
"To work, Madam."
"That doesn't seem like that," she said.
"I'm just making introductions with them, Madam. After all, I have to work with them," he said.
"Is it? Hmm..you may go," she said.
"But Madam, I must say, you are too quiet. Nothing like I heard about you that you scream too much. I am surprised actually," he said before going when Khushi stopped him.
"Who said to you?" she asked.
"Gossip did, Madam," he grinned.
Khushi sighed at him and shook her head. He misunderstood her gesture. So he asked her.
"Madam, you want to say something?" he asked as he flashed a smile at her.
"No, I don't want to say anything," she said quite rudely.
His smile dropped as he said confused, "But Madam, A post in Instagram says that quite people have many things to say."
She glared at him while he slowed down his voice as he murmured innocently, "That's why I asked you as you are too quiet, Madam."
Although it was a murmur, her eardrum hasn't missed hearing him say that. And soon the result was yet the same. She glared at him as he squirmed under her gaze putting his body on fire.
"Arnav. Arnav," she screamed.
"Madam, I'm here only. And I can hear you. Why are you screaming my name?" he asked grinning?
"Not you, Idiot. Shut up your mouth for a second, please," she snapped at him as she flared her nose up.
Arnav who was just outside the cabin came running into the room.
"Yes, Madam?" He was confused as he rolled his towards the new person in the cabin.
"Who the hell gave him the job?" she asked gritting her teeth.
"Your love, Madam," he said instead of Arnav while Arnav's eyes widened at the direct reply.
"What the hell?" she screamed.
"Truth, Madam. Truth," he said grinning.
"Get out," she shouted.
"What," he questioned.
"I said, get the hell out of here. And do some work. And I mean by work, meant only work, not flirt."
"But Madam, I'm doing work only. Ain't I?" he asked scratching his chin.
"Yeah. If by standing here and wasting your time unnecessarily is work, then you must get the best employee award this year," she snorted.
"Not the best employee, Madam. Best Assistant of Assistant Commissioner of Police," he said and not for a second, the smile left his face.
Khushi glared at his overly smart answer.
"I really can't understand how you passed training," she murmured. As the cabin is filled with only three people, and when Khushi Kiran Gupta is in the scene, the place has to be too quiet reflecting her attributes. And due to the same reason, her whisper didn't left unheard by Arnav and Arnav.
"With flying colours, Madam," he said flashing his teeth in front of her.
Khushi glared at him as she listened him say that and said, "Colours fly too?" It was kind of a mocking. All the while, Arnav Bhatt, who heard her, tried hard to not to chuckle.
Arnav Singh Raizada stood shocked for a minute at her reply and later laughed out saying, "Madam, you have a good sense of humour."
"You don't need to judge my sense of humour, Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada. And now, before I fire you, get the hell out of here," she blurted out in anger.
"Fire? But Madam, you should fire criminals. Not me," he said. His face looking so innocent that anyone can say that he's a newborn baby. Of course, if we keep the talking ability aside.
"Mr Arnav Raizada. Take.Your.Ass.Out.Now," she punctuated.
"Okay, Madam. If you say so," Arnav said shrugging off his shoulders as if nothing has happened and he's a total innocent here. And went out from the cabin only greet a few lady officers out.
"Don't know from where this idiot popped up in my office."
But he's handsome. Her heart whispered.
All the while, Arnav stood watching her, admiring her after she sent a quite handsome out.
"Mr Arnav Bhatt," she called out taking a report in her hands.
Arnav Bhatt, who is lost in admiring his crush, Khushi Kiran Gupta, didn't hear his Boss calling out to him. And now that was a big mistake he did.
Khushi was angered more when she didn't get any response and looked up at her Senior Inspector furiously. Only to get furious more. As for her, he is staring at her breaking the norms of work etiquette. That doesn't mean she would like him to stare at her outside the workplace. If only she was not in Central Bureao, she would have kicked him in his guts for staring at her shamelessly.
"Mr Bhatt." She dropped a file on the desk with a thud and Arnav Bhatt came out of his reverie.
Government is her love. How dare they go against work etiquette, government etiquette.
Mr Arnav Bhatt is in for a treat.
To be continued..,
I am late in updating this part. Apologies for that. In the morning, as soon as I woke up, instead of getting my phone in hands, I got some money and was sent out to bring Rakhi and that's when I asked my mom, "Rakhi? Why Rakhi? Today is Rakhi?"
Yeah, I forgot today is Rakhi. 😂😂 And got punished by my brother. I usually spend two days before Raksha Bandhan to buy Rakhi. And this time, I forgot and nobody reminded me. I had to buy one Rakhi just in 3 hours.🤧 And later, he took my precious phone away from me. After that I had to make mothichoor laddus. Just an hour back, completed making it. He didn't even gift me anything except Dairy Milk silk (almonds) and Cadbury Choco Bakes even though he knows that I don't like chocolates much. The reason he says, "It boosts your energy. You need that." My bad! 😅
One happy new is that I'm soon gonna get a new laptop. 🥳 And one bad news is that my drive dates are announced. 😭😭
P.S. Even though I am a Christian, I do celebrate Rakhi. So, don't be surprised.
Anyway, stopping my rant now. Here is your update. Hope it was worth waiting.
Hope your confusions are cleared. Share your views.
Do you like Arnav? Personally, I like him in this story.
Happy Raksha Bandhan to my sisters and brothers here. Have a nice day.🥳❤
