His reflection~ Chapter 36

Ana didn't quite appreciate being woken by Ed yelling to himself at 9 in the morning, but she didn't mention it as she walked towards him, wearing nearly nothing besides his oversized suit shirt that clung comfortably to her body.

"Good morning to you too, Mr. Chess Killer." She kissed his cheek before he even had time to toss her a proper glare.

He seemed to melt slightly at her loving touch. "That's not my name and you know it too."

"Mmm do I?" She lifted her cup of vanilla chai black tea to her lips.

His gaze seemed to darken and she rolled her eyes. "You said it yourself: today will change everything. So go out there and knock them dead."

Ed snacked his arms around Ana's waist and pressed his lips to hers. As she set her cup down, her tongue flickered against his lower lips. Instead of allowing Ana access Ed pulled back and rested his head against hers. "I just finished getting ready. I don't want to be late."

He sighed slightly. "If you weren't pregnant, I would have you right besides me and we'd rule this town."

Her eyes narrow in a way that was only half playful. "If you suggest this pregnancy was my fault, I will freeze your dick off."

He grinned widely. "There's the ice Queen I know and love."

She smiled softly before worming her way out of his grip. "Go on, have fun. Just promise you won't get caught."

He smirked. "Promise."

The first thing Ed did when he got back to the manor was pull Ana into a heated kiss. "What can you keep even after giving it to someone?"

Her eyes shimmered mischievously. "Your word. Come on, I already packed our bags."

"Is Kitty-cat here?"

Ana shook her head. "She left. You know, she'd probably stab you if she heard you call her that."

Ed's fingers interwove themselves with hers as they exited the manor. "Oh, I know."

Ana let out an almost giddy laugh. "There'll be no evidence we were here."

"Well, almost no evidence."

Both killers glanced back at the portrait with a smile. A green question mark covered Oswald, but two smiling figures remained untouched in the corner. With that, they left Oswald's home for the last time, each with a bag in hand.
