~Chapter 10
I was busy cleaning a table some random drunk threw up on when my phone rang. Why was Ed calling me? He knows that I'm at work. He never calls me when I'm at work. And after all that's happening with that serial killer...
I answer the phone, using my other hand to continue cleaning the table. I decide to cut to the chase. "Ed are you ok? What's wrong?"
"M-ms. Kyle, I n-need your help." Yeah...no shit Sherlock. " I-I can't tell you over the phone. Just meet me at my apartment." Ed's voice shook and he seemed utterly terrified. There was also a trace of something...new in his voice. It almost seemed...dangerous.
I shake my head as if to dismiss that thought. Ed? Dangerous? It didn't seem right. "Of course. I'll be there as soon as possible."
I walk up to Oswald after I finish cleaning the table. "I am so sorry, but I'm going to have to leave early. I was just alerted that I have a family emergency. "
"Oh, of course. These things are inevitable." Oswald replies and I nod.
Mini time skip:
I step out of a car I may or may not have hijacked and practically run to Ed, who was nervously pacing outside.
"O-oh, Ms. Kyle! I'm sorry to impose this on you, but I didn't know where else to turn." Before I even had time to ask, he opened his trunk revealing that T. Dougherty guy. If this wasn't a serious matter that was freaking Ed out, I most likely would have said something along the lines of "Good. I hated that guy."
Instead, I started to state directions. " Ok, first things first. No body, no crime." As I say this, I tie a rope that I had in my car around his upper chest and legs. Next I tied those to pieces together to make a triangle. There was still plenty of rope.
"Ok, I want you to walk to your apartment and open that there window. I will climb up there with the the other end of this rope. Then you and I will lift his body into your apartment. Do you still have those trunks from when I helped you run away?" He nods. "Ok...we'll be needing those." I gave Ed about two minutes to reach his apartment before I start to climb.
Luckily I brought my whip and gloves. My claw like gloves act much like cat claws. They are sharp enough to penetrate the walls. I use the fire escape to reach the first window. I carefully transfer from the fire escape so I'm standing on the window sill. I easily reach Ed's window and crawl in. Ed hastily unties the rope from my wrist.
