It happened in a flash. One moment you had gotten Juliet's call, and the next you were at her doorstep.

Your heart pounded. Rain was falling, reminding you of that night once again. You didn't know what to expect when she opened her door.

You sucked in a deep breath, raised your fist, and knocked. It isn't long before you hear shuffling at the door and it opens, revealing Juliet. Admittedly, she looked breathtakingly beautiful, even if she was just wearing an oversized t-shirt and sweatpants. Her short hair was pinned back, and you could see that she had now dyed her hair a deep black, dark as night. The color suited her.

"Come in," she said. You obliged, kicking off your Vans at the door. You both stand in silence for a moment but she then motions for you to follow her into the living room. You stare at the couch—the same couch where you had watched movies together, the same couch where she had once fell asleep in your arms.

Juliet sits, and you do the same. She plays with her various rings, twisting them around and around her fingers. You chew on your bottom lip as you tried to think of a way to break the silence.

"I'm glad you came." Juliet looked at you with a ghost of a smile. "I...I missed you."

You lock eyes with her. "Really?"

She nodded. "Yeah. You're all I think about, you know. My friends told me I shouldn't, that I should forget you just like I did Andy, but I can't."

"I've missed you too," you admitted. It felt great to get that off your chest.

She bit her bottom lip. "I want to explain...explain to you how I felt that night."

You clench your jaw. The memories of her rejection come back to you in waves. Tears prick at your eyes.

"What I said to my friends was wrong, and I know that," Juliet began. Her eyes were focused on the floor. "I shouldn't have said that about us. To be honest, I was scared shitless. I was scared of heartbreak, scared to lose someone that I loved all over again. But as soon as I said those words and saw your reaction, I realized that I was more than ready. I was more than ready to love you, to be yours. I didn't care what my friends thought after that. I followed you into the pouring rain. I knew you were crying and I felt awful. I wanted to kick myself for being so goddamn stupid. I had messed everything up, all for the sake of my reputation. And as soon as my friends learned how I felt, they left me."

Her hand rests on top of yours. Your eyes meet. You didn't realize that she had moved closer to you. "I want to show you how much you mean to me."

She slowly leans in, and you do the same. Her lips are inches away from yours. "Is this okay?" she murmured.

Your heart pounds against your rib cage. You were scared. You didn't want it to happen again. But despite your fears, you nod.

Her lips meet yours, and in one swift movement, she's on top of you, kissing you like you had never been kissed before. It was sweet, passionate, and it reminded you of that night. Her lips were soft and tasted of cherries.

Juliet pulls away, smiling down at you. You were breathless. "So?" she whispered.

You raised a brow. "What?"

"Will you give me another chance?" Her green eyes were wide and hopeful.

You bite your bottom lip, thinking it over. You loved her. She loved you, and she proved that tonight by explaining her side of the story.

Finally, you nod. "I'm the only one who hasn't walked out," you say with a smile. "You're stuck with me forever."

"And I'm perfectly fine with that."

She kissed you again, and you realize in that moment, that nothing would ever separate you ever again. You were always going to be right here.
