ten
ten; PINK STAINS
After Reese and Bellamy had their talk, she had gone back to the tent she shared with Octavia and tried to get some sleep, which was useless because every time she closed her eyes, she saw Charlotte and felt the knife that had been at her throat, and after a couple of hours, she finally settled for just staring at the red tarp above her in silence until it was broken by shouting.
Not wanting another Murphy situation, Reese quickly rolled off of her makeshift bed and pulled her jacket on as she stood, quickly leaving the tent only to find that there wasn't another brawl, everyone who was still up was staring up at the sky.
"We thought it was a shooting star." Rowena exclaimed when she saw Reese who had followed their sights and watched the fire shoot across the dark sky, "But, now, it looks like–"
"A pod." Reese breathed out in awe as she gazed up at the machine, "From the Ark."
"Bellamy, get out here!" Octavia shouted and Reese glanced over to her left in time to see a shirtless Bellamy exit his tent, rubbing his eyes in confusion as Octavia pointed out the pod to him and she smiled at him as he looked over to her, before it dropped at the sight of two girls leaving after him, blankets wrapped around their bodies.
She frowned at the sight and turned her attention back to the pod, shaking her head in order to rid the image from her mind.
"They're coming to help us." Jones exclaimed as they all watched the parachute deploy, "Now we can kick some grounder ass."
"Yeah!"
"Please tell me they brought down some shampoo." One of the blanket girls exclaimed and Reese rolled her eyes, though she could admit that she wished that she could actually wash her hair properly.
Reese smiled at the sight, but when she turned her attention back to Bellamy, she instantly saw the fear in his eyes as he ordered Jones and a few others to follow him and she couldn't help but wonder one more, what the hell had he done up there to cause him to act this way?
"If it cleared the ridge, it's probably near the lake." Jones was telling Bellamy as Reese and Octavia entered the tent.
"We should get moving." Octavia exclaimed excitedly, "Everyone's ready."
"No one's going anywhere." The two brunettes stared at Bellamy incredulously as he crossed his arms, "Not while it's dark, it isn't safe."
"Whoever is on that pod isn't safe, Bell." Reese told him, "The Ark doesn't know about the grounders, they won't be prepared if we're not first there."
"We'll head out at first light, okay, pass the word." Bellamy continued to speak as though Reese hadn't spoken at all and as Jones and two others left the tent, Octavia stepped in front of Bellamy.
"Reese's right, everyone for a hundred miles saw this thing come down." She spoke, "What if the grounder's get to it first? Bell, we should go now."
"I said we wait until sunrise," Bellamy responded firmly and Reese shook her head as he walked away from the two who shared a look and scoffed.
"He's an idiot." Reese murmured.
"And you're not just calling him that because of Roma and Bree?" Octavia questioned and Reese's head shot up to look at her strangely.
"What?" She asked in confusion, "No, why?"
Octavia shook her head and her eyes were unbelieving, though Reese wasn't sure exactly why.
"No reason." She replied innocently, "But, I agree and I also think he's up to something."
"Wanna go find out?" Reese questioned, jutting her head to the tent entrance.
"Of course."
Octavia had rushed off to find Bellamy and Reese waited patiently, all the while having a conversation about engineering with Rowena who had been interested in pursuing it before she had been arrested but she excused herself when she saw Clarke and Finn talking to Fox and she quickly made her way over to them.
"Where is Bellamy?" Clarke was asking the girl.
"In his tent, last I saw, but O went to go find him earlier," Reese responded with a shrug and Clarke nodded, gesturing for her and Finn to follow her over to Bellamy's tent and she entered it.
"Ever hear of knocking, bitch?" The dark-haired girl asked Clarke as she pulled her shirt over her head, rolling her eyes as Reese and Finn entered behind the blonde, "Oh, great, it's a free show, anyone else want to take a look?"
"You were wearing a blanket in front of everyone half an hour ago." Reese pointed out with a scoff, rolling her eyes when the girl glared at her, "Where the hell is Bellamy?"
"He took off a while ago." She huffed, glaring at Reese who could barely look at her without feeling something bad in her stomach.
"Gear's gone," Finn spoke up.
"He told everyone to stay, whatever's in that thing, he wants it." Clarke exclaimed.
"My God, he's an idiot." Reese groaned, "Well, let's go then."
As Clarke and Finn left the ship, the brunette girl huffed, "You're welcome."
"Didn't say thank you, sweetheart." She told her with a false grin before she followed after the two who had left before her.
"Bitch."
"I should've known that he would go for that radio," Clarke exclaimed just as Reese fell into step with them.
"How're you supposed to know something like that?"
"Because it's Bellamy." Reese pointed out.
Clarke nodded, "Exactly, he's spent every single minute since we landed making sure no one on the Ark finds out we're alive."
They quickly stopped at the table full of weapons and each picked up a few, Reese shoving two knives into her pockets and one into the ripped lining of her jacket, she didn't love the fact that she constantly had a weapon on her but it made her feel safer even though she believed that she wouldn't be able to harm another person.
"It doesn't mean you can predict what people are gonna do." Finn exclaimed as he rushed to keep up with the two after the set off once again toward the gap in the wall.
"That's exactly what I have to do." Clarke responded angrily, "I screwed up, let myself get distracted."
"That's not on you, Clarke." Reese sighed quietly, grabbing a flame torch from one of the boys at the wall's entrance, her eyes narrowing on Finn who was looking at Clarke with a sad frown, "I've known Bellamy way longer than you have and I should've realised that that's what he was up to, I'm sorry."
And as they walked, she completely forgot that she was supposed to wait for Octavia, but what she didn't realise, was that Octavia had forgotten about coming back for Reese as well.

Dawn had broken by the time, Reese, Finn, and Clarke had gotten even close to where the smoke had billowed into the air and they had begun to run, each hoping that the grounder's had not come across the pod first.
"Should we split up?" Clarke asked as she leapt over a fallen tree branch.
"Yeah, you go that way." Finn responded, "I'll go the other, Reese, check the bottom."
Reese hesitantly pulled one of the knives from her jacket and nodded, breaking away from the others, throwing a quick 'be safe' over her shoulder as she went.
Her heart was pounding as she rushed through the forest and she couldn't be sure which way the smoke was coming from until she heard a loud creaking somewhere to her right and she quickly followed it all the way to a meadow where a large pod lay on the ground, dirt overturned at the front where the machine had tilted into the earth.
Reese allowed her eyes to scan the piece of junk that had appeared to be extremely old, her worried eyes scanning the large hole in one of the front windows and she allowed her eyes to wander until she found Clarke who was just watching a girl twirl around in a familiar red jacket and Reese found herself running forward.
"Raven!"
The girl's head snapped up and she looked shocked for a moment before a wide smile spread across her face that Reese only saw for a second before she was launching herself at the girl.
"Reese, my god, I didn't believe it at first when I saw you on that wristband screen!" Raven exclaimed, returning her tight embrace just as fiercely, "But here you are!"
"Oh, I've missed you." Reese murmured before she pulled away and took a look at her friend who looked like a complete mess, but she was smiling so Reese wasn't sure how much she should worry.
"You two know each other?" Clarke asked.
"We worked together," Raven said with a smile.
"Taught her everything I know," Reese announced proudly before Raven punched her in the arm.
"Shut up, you did not." She exclaimed before she looked back at the pod and a frown took over her face, "Wait, where's Al?"
"Who's Al?" Clarke questioned and Reese frowned at the panicked look on Raven's face.
"He came down with me." Raven exclaimed worriedly, "Helped me build this thing, where the hell is he?"
Reese turned back to the ship and dread filled her stomach at the sight of the broken glass on only one side of the windows and she didn't have a chance to speak as another voice resounded through the meadow.
"Raven!" Finn's voice shouted as he came into view from where the front of the ship faced and what shocked Reese was the man who stumbled after him and unlike Raven, he was still wearing his spacesuit with the pink stains that Reese would recognise anywhere.
"Finn!" Raven responded excitedly once she saw the two men and she rushed over to her boyfriend as Reese Kane locked eyes with Alexander Lerolan for the first time in almost a year and her breathing hitched as his eyes widened.
══════════════════
alexander is here and his and reese's dynamic is going to be awesome. also, not a lot of reese and bellamy but i don't want the entire story to just be centred around her relationship with bellamy, i want to write her properly and that involves her own relationships with other characters and plot lines within the original show plot and not just her doing what everyone else is doing.
thanks for reading!
