Chapter Six: Dreams and Confusions
Doubt to trust? Who could that be? Could this just be a normal dream?
Internet...
I walked to my laptop and sat down on the chair then opened it and went to my savour Mr. Google.
How do I write this? "How to know the dream is sent from god?" What? No.
"How to know the dream is true?"
One of the first searches said "Dreams Don't Come True, They ARE True"
Gregg Levoy said that "Dreams tell you what you really know about something, what you really feel. They can help you fine-tune your direction and show you your unfinished business."
I sighed deeply and rested back. Unfinished business? I asked myself.
"Chanel" Mom said walking into my room "Breakfast is ready"
"Hey, Mom" I turned to face her "Do dreams always have a meaning?"
She looked at me and smiled "Not really sweet heart" she stopped for a second "Dreams can exist if you're stressed or overly happy. I think its a way the mind expresses emotion..."
I smiled "Thanks mom" I said while standing up

After breakfast mom told me that some members of the family are coming to visit because they haven't seen me since I left the hospital.
Not gonna lie I was really excited... I had questions, and someone must've known anything about me to help.
I got dressed and sat down to look around me. My room needs to change. All these weird band posters and weird wallpapers must go... I need something calm, classic... Elegant
Ding dong. I heard the door bell thing and my mom's extremely loud "HEY" and a lot of people talking at the same time.
I walked downstairs to find a good amount of people. Old, my age and younger.
I cleared my throat and some of them noticed my presence and came to hug me and tell me that they're glad I'm okay and all of those things.
We were seated in the garden and the elders were talking about their memories with me. Honestly, I let them embarrass themselves because I remembered them very well other than the fact that they don't get it's a temporary case, which I kind of enjoyed cause they looked like idiots.
I felt a shoulder nudge and when I looked to the source my cousin Irene mouthed "We need to talk" and signed for us to go.
I got up and walked behind her as she was directed to my room.
"I Missed you, Chan" She hugged me tightly and smiled
"Wow Irene, I missed you too" I smiled back
"How's everything since you left the hospital?" She asked "What happened to you anyway?" She sat on the bed
"They said it was a car accident" I sighed and sat down "Nobody knows more than that"
"That's odd" she shrugged "Was that after the party?"
"What party?" I frowned
"Joel's party dude. You were there with this ex boyfriend of yours"
"Ex? What ex? And Who's Joel?" I blinked continuously
"That amnesia shit honestly doesn't suit you" she said "Cut the act"
"I'm serious!" I yelled
"Wow. Calm down" she moved back "This shit is serious. Okay"
"Could you just tell me who these people are?"
"Yes, of course I can" she started "Joel was your best friend. You two were pretty close. Like I've never seen before"
"Wait... Joel who? Don't you mean Xander?"
Her face shifted between colours and I saw her swallow something in her throat and clearing it "Xander?"
A knock on the door interrupted us and I shouted, "Not now, mom!" But the door opened and Xander stuck his head inside the door.
"I'm not mom though" he smiled
Just then Irene stood up as he came inside the room "Hey Irene" he smiled
"Hi Xander" she said and smiled back "I'm gonna talk to you later, Chan. But to answer your question... No, I didn't" she said while walking out
"What question?" I asked but she had left by then.
"What happened?" Xander asked
"Nothing really" I sighed "She was talking to me about this party. I dont know Joel's? Something like that" I sat down "Do you know anyone I know called Joel?"
"No. Not really" He sat beside me
I sighed and laid my head on his shoulder "I don't understand what's going on Xander. I feel lonely. It's exhausting. I'm so tired. I feel so sick. I know somewhere out there are people I know. People who I called friends" I looked at him "Where are they now, Xander?"
"Calm down, Chanel"
"Stop telling me to calm down!" I yelled "I can't calm down"
"Chanel..." He held my hand "Please calm down. I promise I'm going to find you the people you're searching for. I promise."
I pulled my hand from his and pushed him away "Don't touch me!! Just fuck off!" I ran out of the room and downstairs
"Chanel!" Mom ran to me "Sweetie, what's wrong?"
"Everything mom!! My life is wrong!! This is wrong!" I cried "Why did this happen? Where are my friends Where are the people I know? Why isn't any of them here? Where are my friends? Why the fuck am I alone?"
"Sweetheart..." My mom hugged me so tightly and patted my back "Shhh... it's gonna be okay baby"
"I don't know what to do, mom? I have nothing to do" I whimpered between her arms and clutched onto her tightly.
The feeling of hurt and frustration filled me. My brain is tied up in knots. I think I might explode. Should I just leave this missing part of my life behind and have a new start. A clean slate. I caught glimpse of Xander looking at me with sparkly eyes and left the house. Why is he the only person there for me? Why is he the only person here? Is he doing to give up on me now?
I pulled away from my mom and looked at her "I'm sorry, mom. I'm just so tired. I'm gonna go to sleep."
