Virgil's alarm buzzed, immediately waking him up and he dug for his phone under his pillow, turning it off as quickly as he could before sitting up.

His alarm had not had any effect on Roman, who was fast asleep on the other side of Logan, lightly snoring into his pillow. Logan, however, shifted and squinted at him.

"Shh, sorry, old midnight alarm from the weekend. You go back to sleep, I just gotta pee." He said, which Logan bought with no issues, pulling the covers up and rolling over to cuddle up to Roman.

He carefully got out of bed, looking back at his two adorable sleeping boyfriends and really wishing that crawling back into bed and cuddling with them was an option that he could choose. He had other plans, though, and left them to get some more sleep.

It wasn't midnight, far from it. Actually, it was six in the morning and Logan's alarm was going to ring in only half an hour. Thirty more minutes of cuddling and sleeping sounded fantastic, but despite today being a Monday it was a rather special day.

He tiptoed downstairs, entering the kitchen and opening the cupboard to find the waffle mix, and the fridge for the fresh berries and other ingredients. He plugged in the waffle maker, then mixed the waffle batter together while waiting for it to become warm.

He checked the pockets of his pajamas, thankful to find that he had put his phone there, scrolling through his playlists to find some fitting music as he made breakfast. MCR was always a good choice and he hummed along to the music as he poured batter into the waffle maker.

Virgil found a knife and a cutting board, busying himself cutting up strawberries and bananas as he waited for the two waffles to finish. He also poured a package of fresh blueberries into a small bowl and rummaged through the fridge for the Nutella. Usually such sugary foods were reserved for weekends but, well, anniversaries had to count, right?

Once the light on the waffle maker turned green he quickly got a plate from another cupboard to put them on and poured some more batter into the waffle maker. Then he put the banana and the strawberries in their own bowls and set them on the table before, as quietly as possible, rummaging through the cupboards for four plates and four glasses.

He set the table, then turned back to the waffle maker to make sure the waffles didn't burn. Soon enough he had a big plate of waffles ready and he wrapped it in tin foil to preserve the heat as he tiptoed back upstairs and into his son's room.

Patton was actually already awake, standing up in his crib and Virgil smiled and lifted him up in his arms.

"Good morning, Pat." He said, kissing the top of his head and sitting down with him in his lap by his dresser. He pulled some drawers open, looking through his clothes.

"Which one?" He said, holding up two shirts. Patton reached out for the pink one, which Virgil took as him wanting that one. Logan had sent him some kind of article about the importance of letting toddlers make choices, even if they did not understand that they were making choices, so, well, why not?

"Alright, which pants?" He wondered, holding up two more choices and waiting until Patton reached for one of them. He grabbed a pair of socks and then carried Patton into the bathroom to change his diaper.

Then he dressed him in the pink shirt and the baby blue overalls that had an embroidered pink bunny on them, and then carried him downstairs. Virgil put him down in his high chair, putting his bib on and then leaving another kiss on his head before he opened the freezer to find the package of frozen mango.

Then he spent at least five minutes looking through cupboards, not finding what he was searching for even when climbing onto a chair and looking at the highest shelves in the cupboards above the counter.

"Good morning, love." Logan said and Virgil looked down to see his boyfriend standing next to the chair and looking up at him with slight confusion.

"Hi, morning, we own a blender, right?" He said, stepping down from the chair to end up a bit more face to face with Logan.

"We do." He said, opening a cupboard beneath the counter and pulling their blender out.

"Oh. Thanks." He took the blender and put it on the counter by the mango, then turned back to Logan and wrapped his arms around his neck.

"And happy anniversary." Virgil said, pressing his lips to Logan's cheek. Logan placed his hands on Virgil's waist, smiling softly.

"Happy anniversary." He echoed, their noses brushing together before Logan pressed a gentle kiss to his lips. Virgil nuzzled his face into the crook of Logan's neck, not looking up until he felt another pair of arms wrapping around them both.

"What's the occasion?" Roman said sleepily, leaning his head against Logan's, smiling as Logan turned slightly and kissed his cheek.

"Morning, Ro. Happy anniversary." Virgil told him, watching his expression and seeing how it took his brain a second to connect the dots and remember what date it was today.

"Oh. Oh, right, happy anniversary." He said, smiling widely and pressing their mouths together in a proper kiss. Then they heard clattering behind them and Virgil broke the kiss and turned to look towards Patton who had taken his plastic bowl and dropped it to the floor.

"Seems like someone wants some breakfast." Roman said and Virgil freed himself from the embrace to pick the bowl up and put it back in front of Patton.

"We keep the bowl on the table, alright? Thank you." He said, then turned back to the counter where he plugged the blender in while Roman and Logan were exchanging a few kisses off to the side. Virgil tore the package open, pouring the frozen mango into the blender.

"Can I do anything to help?" Logan wondered, seeming to have un-glued himself from Roman.

"Yeah, find and peel three kiwis? And then could you make some whipped cream?" He told him, then looked over at Roman as Logan pulled a package of heavy cream from the fridge and found kiwis in the fruit bowl.

"Could you put some pieces of fruit on Patton's plate before it ends up on the floor again?" He wondered.

"I'm on it." Roman grabbed the knife that Virgil had used, slicing a few blueberries into smaller pieces that weren't a choking hazard. And then scooping up some of the strawberry and banana pieces which were already cut into toddler-appropriate sizes.

Patton happily ignored that he had a spoon and put his hands in his bowl, soon enough having the juice of blueberries smeared around his mouth and his entire palms.

Logan made the whipped cream and Virgil made the mango and kiwi smoothie that he had planned and then he poured the smoothie into the wine glasses that he had set the table with.

"Wine glasses?" Logan said, picking his up with a chuckle.

"Well, fancy, you know? Two year anniversary, we gotta be drinking our breakfast smoothie out of wine glasses." Virgil said, taking his own and gently clinking it against Logan's.

"I knew I smelled waffles! Yeah, this is all exactly the kind of fancy breakfast we need to celebrate, thank you for making this Monday special for us, darling." Roman said, just having lifted the tin foil.

"You're both very welcome. Figured that even if we all have to work today that shouldn't stop us from celebrating while we can, and I wanted to surprise you." He said, finally taking a seat with the others, watching as Roman cut up small pieces of waffle for Patton who was still very happily smearing his hands and face with fruit.

"Oh, you're definitely right about that. Looking forward to our idea of wine and the fancy kind of takeout tonight." Roman said, taking a bite out of the piece of waffle that was left over.

"Me too." Logan said, reaching across the table to take Roman's hand. Virgil put a waffle on his plate, covering it in whipped cream and blueberries.

This was definitely a nice way to celebrate their anniversary, even if they all had to go to work before they could actually resume the celebration, but Virgil didn't doubt that they would have a very nice evening too.
