[3] - Jacket Thief

Analogical week day 3: jacket/jam

Warnings: no?

‐‐

Logan was tempting fate, and his boyfriend's patience, he was entirely aware of that and yet he was entering Virgil's room, double checking that the boyfriend in question was not there.

He wasn't there, the room just as empty as Logan had known it would be, and he closed Virgil's door and walked straight up to the lump of fabric haphazardly thrown over his desk chair.

He felt a certain thrill as he grabbed Virgil's jacket, then sinking out and up right into his own room where he didn't hesitate to pull the hoodie on over his button-up, smiling at nothing in particular as he slipped his arms into the sleeves and pulled the jacket tightly around himself.

In Logan's defense Virgil had been eating his Crofters an awful lot lately. This was only fair.

(And the fact that Logan had been borrowing Virgil's hoodie for longer than Virgil had been eating his Crofters was besides the point.)

He sighed, pleased to be wrapped in the familiar warm weight of Virgil's hoodie as he sat down on his couch, curling up in the corner and conjuring up his laptop, determined to get some work done and trying to convince himself not to feel bad about stealing Virgil's beloved hoodie.

He was just borrowing it.

...Without asking first, which made it seem a whole lot more like stealing rather than borrowing. But asking Virgil to borrow his hoodie was... embarrassing. If he asked then Virgil was going to wonder why, and Logan had not been able to figure out how to answer that.

Everyone knew that he could just conjure up his own jacket if that was what he wanted and because of that it would be obvious to Virgil that that was not the reason. Which meant that Logan would have to tell Virgil he stole it all the time because it smelled like him and kind of felt like wearing a hug from his boyfriend, and that was just disgustingly emotional of him.

The hoodie was just oddly comforting and he wasn't going to even begin to try to explain why that was because feelings were stupid and complicated and only worth standing when they were about Virgil.

He shook his head to rid himself of distracting thoughts about Virgil, focusing on his scheduling instead, knowing that both Virgil and Thomas would feel less stressed if they had a well thought out and flexible schedule for the filming of Sanders Sides.

He didn't know how long he had been working, he likely would have kept working for another long while if it was not for the sound of his door opening and the sight of his boyfriend stepping into his room.

He slammed his laptop shut in a misdirected attempt at hiding what he was doing, his mind momentarily forgetting that what he wanted to hide from view was for once not his half finished work.

(Unfinished work was imperfect and imperfect work was embarrassing, and... Logan should work on that, he knew he should.)

"What are you doing here?" He asked, his face feeling burning hot before Virgil's eyes even fixed on him.

As soon as Virgil did spot him, however, it took just about two seconds for him to realize what he was seeing and then his black eyeshadow had turned all purple and sparkly and somehow that made Logan feel even more flustered, his stupid heart feeling as if it had skipped a beat at the sight.

He had no idea how to even process that Virgil's eyeshadow could turn purple just by seeing him.

"Um, uh- I was just gonna check so I hadn't forgotten my hoodie here, cause I couldn't find it in my room even if I was pretty sure I left it by my desk before lunch." Virgil said, still staring at him. "What are you doing?"

"I am making a schedule for the filming of the next Sanders Sides video." He said since that was the truth even if he knew it was not at all what Virgil's question had actually been aimed at. He averted his eyes, though.

"Uh huh, and nothing else?" Virgil wondered, and from the tone of his voice Logan didn't need to glance up to know that he was smiling, but he did anyway. It was difficult to pass up on an opportunity to see Virgil smile, even if it was a teasing smile that made Logan feel even more sheepish.

"You know, I thought it was odd how often I've misplaced my hoodie these past few months." He said with a barely stifled chuckle, closing the door to Logan's room and walking over to join Logan on the couch. Clearly Logan had not been as good at taking the hoodie when it went unnoticed as he had thought.

"Ah, well, you see, I- ...I have nothing to defend my actions with." He said, sinking into the couch cushions just slightly. "I apologize for taking your hoodie."

"I mean, I don't really mind. But why didn't you just ask to borrow it instead of taking it when I'm not looking? You always ask before taking stuff." Virgil said and Logan felt like he had left out an 'unlike me' at the end of that sentence.

"I, well, if I had asked then you would have wondered why I wanted to borrow it, would you not?" Logan said.

"I probably would have, but you don't exactly look like you want to share why so I don't think I would have actually asked. Do you want to tell me why?" He wondered, taking the laptop from Logan and setting it on the coffee table in front of the couch.

"No. It's embarrassing." Logan crossed his arms over his chest, wondering if he was ever going to feel less flustered or if his face was going to stay red for the rest of his existence. Virgil casually lying down with his head in Logan's lap didn't help.

"Unless it was something inappropriate you were just looking at on your laptop then I don't think it's as embarrassing as you think." Virgil said, shrugging best he could while lying down and then laughing as Logan spluttered and grabbed his laptop to show him that he had definitely only been working and nothing else.

"See, you probably just think it's embarrassing because you refuse to admit you're a sap." Virgil said, grinning up at him.

"I am not a sap!" He said but Virgil just kept grinning up at him and his eyeshadow was still brightly purple and sparkling in the light from Logan's lamp and, oh, he was so pretty.

"Shut up." He said, which did not make Virgil smile any less at all.

"No." He said, reaching up to grasp Logan's tie and pull him down for a kiss. It was not a particularly comfortable way to kiss his boyfriend, but as he was kissing his boyfriend he did not care. Sure, they had been dating for months at this point, but kissing did not get old.

"Did you know your eyeshadow has turned purple?" Logan wondered as they parted, carefully tracing under Virgil's eye with the pad of his thumb.

"It did? When?" Virgil wondered, the tips of his ears going a bit red. Virgil's eyeshadow fascinated Logan for a lot of reasons and he wished he could fully learn how it functioned, but experiments did not work as they made Virgil nervous and ensured that his eyeshadow stayed pitch black.

"As soon as you walked in and saw me." He said, ignoring the brief urge to hide his face in his hands.

Virgil made him feel so many stupid feelings.

"Can hardly blame me, I just discovered that my boyfriend looks really cute wearing my hoodie." Virgil said. Logan leaned his head back in a sigh, using the hand that had been cradling Virgil's face to gently push him away.

"You are going to have to stop making me feel emotions." He complained.

"No. Sucks to be you." Virgil said and Logan rolled his eyes, feigning annoyance.

Actually, it very much did not suck to be him at the moment, Logan thought. Especially as he had not heard Virgil say anything that was an actual objection to him continuously stealing his hoodie.
