Virgil looked across the room at Logan. Logan who was smart and kind and funny in his own unique way. Logan who was always making sure Virgil was comfortable with himself and who always made sure Virgil had what he needed. Logan who Virgil had stupidly fallen in love with because he couldn't control his emotions.
He wiped his hands on his jeans and looked back at his phone, not paying attention to when Roman and Patton walked in, shouting about movie night, and how they wanted Logan to move and sit next to Virgil so they could have the other sofa to themselves. It had nothing to do with both of them knowing about Virgil's feelings or anything. Not at all.
Virgil moved as far as he could to the other side of the sofa, using his hoodie as a protective shield around him, and hoping he wasn't too 'on show'. He made sure there was plenty of room between him and Logan so that he didn't do anything stupid, or make a fool of himself.
"Virgil put your phone down, it's family night," Patton smiled at him, silently asking him not to argue about it.
Virgil shot him a slight glare, not happy with having to deal with the whole movie night, not when Patton and Roman would leave part way through, leaving Virgil to feel awkward around Logan. He slid his phone into his pocket, it being on hand if he needed it.
Virgil shifted in his seat slightly, watching as Roman put in one of the hundreds of Disney movies.
"Do I have to stay?" He looked over to Patton, pleading to be let go, he'd spent the entire day with him or Roman or Logan, even if it made him uncomfortable. He was beginning to feel anxious about it all, he wasn't used to spending so much time around them all.
"It'd be nice if you did," Patton smiled softly and glanced at both of the other males. "We'd like to see you when we can all say we saw you, plus, it's family movie night."
"I just don't think I can handle it tonight, Pat. I've spent all day with at least one of you..."
Patton nodded smiling sadly, gesturing to the stairs, letting him leave, listening to Logan complain about how Virgil could leave but he couldn't. Something about how he had work to do.
Virgil made it to his room and shut the door a little bit too hard. He winced at the loud noise and dived into bed, burying himself under the covers, giving him the chance to relax and hopefully fall asleep.
His time alone and his silence was soon disrupted by a disturbance from downstairs. Virgil couldn't tell what was being said or by whom, but he knew at least two of the three other sides were shouting at the other.
He groaned and rolled off his bed, not wanting to go downstairs, but he knew someone would end up in tears if he didn't help. He paused at the bottom of the stairs, sighing softly.
"What's going on, Pat?"
"They're arguing about why you left, and Logan is blaming Roman and vice versa."
"But I left because I'm tired and anxious... And I've exceeded my socialising with people for the day."
"You and I both know that, but Roman won't listen to me. Can you maybe try and talk to Logan? Then we can leave you alone for the night? I'm really sorry, kiddo."
Virgil nodded and walked over to Logan, holding onto his wrist gently, careful not to hurt him at all.
Logan looked at him, his expression softening when he saw how tense Virgil was holding himself. "I thought you'd gone to bed," he whispered.
"I had... But you guys started yelling and you were hurting Patton..."
"I don't understand?"
"Well, I know neither of you think I left for my own reasons, and I know you both blame one another. Which puts you both at fault because I left to sleep after being so social today. My battery ran low, so I left. It's okay. You guys just need to enjoy yourselves."
Logan nodded and sat back down on the sofa, unintentionally pulling Virgil to sit down too. Neither of them noticed how close they were to one another, and they were more than willing to just sit in silence and enjoy one another's company until Patton and Roman came back.
Virgil found himself growing more and more exhausted. He was barely able to stay sat upright, and he was soon asleep on Logan's shoulder.
Logan couldn't find it in him to mind that Virgil had fallen asleep on him. Maybe he'd confront Virgil about his own feelings in the morning, or maybe he'd just let himself relax and enjoy Virgil's company.
