[23] You Didn't Have To...
Mega-Fluff Alert
Virgil looked over at his boyfriend, who had both his hands on the wheel of their car, and he was driving them down multiple roads that were unknown to Virgil. He wasn't sure where they were going, but in that moment, it didn't matter. He was content to spend the time with his boyfriend, and have the comfortable silence wrap around them.
The wind was blowing through their hair, and the music from the radio was quiet, but there, and it wasn't too much. The atmosphere was relaxing, and Virgil was happy.
"Hey, Lo?" Virgil looked out the front window, and smiled. They were far away from town, and that made him happy. There were no people to bother him, no one to get annoyed at, no one to please.
Logan hummed, and turned his head to Virgil, letting him know he was listening, and he could continue.
"Why are we out here?" He wasn't complaining, not by any means, he just wondered why they were so far away from home, and he guessed that their drive wasn't going to end soon.
"I cannot tell you that." Logan sent him a small smile, and reached out to take his hand. Virgil smiled, and laced their fingers together, loving the affection from his boyfriend, but since they got in the car that morning, Logan hadn't once kissed him.
"Can you pull over for a minute?" Virgil spoke after a moments silence. He'd looked behind them, and not seen anymore traffic, so it wasn't going to harm anyone.
"Why?"
"I cannot tell you that." Virgil smiled, and turned to his boyfriend, who rolled his eyes fondly, and moved to the side of the road.
Virgil unbuckled his seat belt, and gestured for Logan to do the same. Once he had, Virgil tilted his head to him, and smiled fondly.
"I love you." He murmured, and smiled wider when Logan repeated the phrase back to him. His gaze traveled down to Logan's lips, and lingered for a while, waiting for Logan to understand what he was asking.
Logan soon connected their lips, and Virgil hummed happily, reaching up to cup Logan's face. Logan's right hand soon rested on the back of Virgil's neck, and his left clutched Virgil's t-shirt. Neither male would ever get used to the euphoria they felt when they kissed, it seemed to make them feel happier than words could describe.
Virgil parted from Logan slightly, and smiled when his boyfriend tried to chase him, not wanting the kiss to end. Virgil scanned Logan's face, and couldn't resist reconnecting their lips. Logan seemed to perk up, and Virgil's free hand moved to snake around Logan's waist. Neither were comfortable in the position they were in, due to being in the car, but neither cared.
Virgil's fingers trailed under Logan's shirt, and traced small patterns in his side, smiling into the kiss when Logan shivered under his touch. He loved making Logan react to small things. Normally, it would be making him flustered over anything, but when it came to kissing, Virgil would do whatever he could to make Logan shift slightly.
Logan's phone ringing made their kiss end too soon for either of their liking, and it took them both a minute to remember where they were, and what was going on. Logan reluctantly let go of Virgil's shirt, and answered his phone. His other hand never left Virgil's neck, and he began to trace small circles on the back of it.
Virgil smiled, and tilted Logan's head back to face him. Even though he was on the phone, Virgil pressed kisses to his cheeks, and brushed their lips against one another's. He didn't know what Logan was talking about, or who he was talking to, nor did he care, he was satisfied at the prominent blush that coated Logan's cheeks.
Logan soon hung up, and Virgil wasted no time in reconnecting their lips, not caring if they had anywhere to be. It was his birthday, and he deserved to be kissed by his boyfriend. Logan's free hand went back to gripping Virgil's shirt, and Virgil couldn't help but smile into the kiss as Logan seemed to melt.
Despite them wanting to carry on kissing, they required air, and a more comfortable sitting position. Virgil soon broke the kiss, and smiled fondly at his boyfriend. His fingers continued to trace patterns into Logan's side, and Logan took his time letting go of Virgil's t-shirt.
"Was there a... Particular reason for that?" Logan asked, smiling at his boyfriend, pausing to catch his breath slightly, half way through.
"Yeah, it's my birthday, and I wanted to kiss my boyfriend." Virgil smiled as he watched Logan flush, and turned to face the road ahead.
"I uh... We need to get going, we fell behind schedule."
Virgil smiled, and rolled his eyes. He loved his boyfriend, but sometimes he wished he didn't follow a schedule all the time.
They reached to put their seat belts on, and Logan continued the drive down the country road. Virgil's hand never left Logan's, and they were content to sit and observe the world.

By the time night had fallen, the two reached a small house, and Virgil recognised it to be Patton's. He hadn't made the drive out to his best friend's house in too long, and he felt rather guilty, but that didn't stop him feeling happy about being there.
"Come on." Logan spoke up, turning the car off, and getting out of the driver's seat, before walking to Virgil's side. Virgil smiled, and climbed out, lacing his fingers with Logan's, once again, and he leaned over to press a soft kiss to Logan's lips.
They were broken apart by a voice speaking from beside them, and Virgil sighed, resting his forehead against Logan's keeping his eyes closed.
"Sorry, what?"
"You guys are late."
"Yes, I apologise about that, we had a few... Pit stops." Logan spoke after a moments deliberation. "Virgil can be rather clingy when he wants to be."
"Hey!" Virgil mumbled, and sent a half-hearted glare to Logan, who smiled, and pecked his lips fondly.
"No worries." Roman spoke up once more, and smiled, beckoning for them to follow him.
Virgil's grip on Logan's hand tightened slightly. It unnerved him when Roman greeted them instead of Patton. He knew they lived together, and it shouldn't make him feel that way, but it did, and he knew he'd never get over the weirdness of it.
"It was going to be a surprise, but we got bored waiting, so Happy Birthday." Roman spoke as they reached the living room, and walked in.
Virgil's jaw, figuratively, hit the floor, and he wondered how and why they'd gone to this effort to do anything for him.
Streamers and balloons littered the walls and floor. Presents were strewn about the room, and in the center of it all, stood his best friends, Patton, Thomas, and Devon.
"You guys didn't have to." Virgil muttered, smiling fondly at his friends.
Patton was the first to wrap him in a hug, uttering something about, yes they did, they're his friends, and they need to make his birthday special.
Virgil rolled his eyes, and let his other two friends hug him, smiling when he saw a silver band on Thomas' finger.
Once all the hugging was done, they all sat down and talked, catching up about everything since the last time they'd all seen one another.

A few hours later, Virgil was pulled away from his friends, having opened all the gifts, and spent plenty of time admiring them, and thanking his friends. He turned to Logan, confused as to why he was pulled away.
They stood out in Patton's large back yard, the stars glittering overhead, contrasting perfectly to the night sky, and Virgil found himself admiring them all.
"Virgil?" Logan gained his attention, and for a moment, Virgil was confused.
Logan was down on one knee, a box in his hands, and a small smile on his face.
"We have been together for a while now, and I would love nothing more than if you would take the next step in my life with me, and do me the honors of marrying me?"
Virgil stood frozen for a moment, before everything caught up to him.
"You... You're asking me to marry you?"
"Yes, I thought that was obvious."
"I... It is, I just didn't expect it."
"Well, I thought tonight would be preferable, since we would be able to be in the perfect environment for it."
"I would love to." Virgil managed after a few minutes silence, and he smiled at Logan, who slid the band onto his finger.
Logan stood up, and pulled Virgil into a kiss that lasted longer than either imagined. Logan's hands slid under Virgil's hoodie, and rested on his waist, whilst Virgil's arms wrapped around Logan's shoulders, and they held one another close. Neither being able to get close enough, or get enough of the kiss.
They parted slightly, their lips brushing against one another's, and it didn't take long for them to reconnect their lips. Virgil's hand moved down to Logan's chest, and rest it atop his heart, feeling how similar their heart rates were. Logan's grip tightened on Virgil's waist momentarily, and Virgil smiled, somehow pulling Logan even closer.
"I love you." Virgil managed to mumble against his fiance's lips, and Logan smiled, pressing a few more quick kisses to Virgil's lips.
"I love you too."
Virgil smiled, and reconnected their lips, unable to understand how he got to be so lucky with Logan.
When they finally parted, they couldn't stop grinning, and they trailed inside, hearing the happiness from their friends about them 'Finally getting engaged.'
It wasn't much of anything, but Virgil was happy, and he couldn't ask for a better group of friends, or a better male to slowly build a family with, and in time, he hoped that they would have a family of their own.
"Happy Birthday." Logan murmured, and pressed a kiss to Virgil's lips.
"Hm, happy birthday indeed." Virgil smiled, and cuddled into Logan's side, drifting off to sleep not long after, Logan soon following suit.
