[19] Say You Want Me Too

Virgil smiled, and looked across the room at his crush, who was focused on the work in front of him. It wasn't that he wanted to sit so far away from him, but the teacher seemed to think that he would be less distracted if they didn't sit by one another. Like that was going to happen. He could be on the other side of the school, and Virgil would still be distracted, thinking about his small smile when he got something right, or the way he rolled his eyes when an idiot spoke up.

He sighed and was pulled from his thoughts when the bell rang. He rolled his eyes at the people rushing to get out of the room, and then out of the school, since the day was ending. All too soon, it was him and Logan in the classroom, the teacher having gone off elsewhere, planning on returning in a few minutes.

"Why do you stare at me, and try to talk to me, yet when I go to talk to you, you freeze, and never reply?" Logan spoke up, barely sparing Virgil a glance as he packed up his writing utensils.

"I just... I don't think I can answer that without you thinking of me as weird."

"I already think of you as weird, in the best way possible."

Virgil watched him, and saw a small smile rest on his face. "Rude." He humphed, however, a small smile graced his own lips, and the accusation was useless.

Logan felt Virgil's eyes on him, and he turned to look at him. "What?"

Virgil smiled wider, and shrugged, stuffing his hands into his jeans pockets. "Nothing major."

"Then it must be minor, what is it?"

"You're cute is all." Virgil shrugged, grabbing his bag, and walking out of the classroom.

By the time Virgil reached his locker, Logan had caught up to him. "What do you mean?"

"I meant what I said. You are cute." Virgil turned to Logan and flashed him a small smile. The corridor was deserted by now, and it was just the two of them.

"Virgil, please, why do you keep saying that?"

"Because you are."

"But..."

"But nothing."

"Virgil." Logan sighed, frustrated at his lack of understanding. "Please be more clear in the reasoning behind what you are saying."

"I like you, dummy. Lack of emotional intelligence and all." Virgil smiled. "And, if you would, would you be my boyfriend?"

"I... Why me?"

"You're cute, and smart, and funny, and I don't know, I just like you, so say you want me too."

"Of course I do, I am just confused."

"Then stick with me, and I'll help you understand."

"Okay."

Virgil smiled, and laced his fingers through Logan's, and started their walk home, which felt different, in all the right ways.
