Anakin's POV:

I take a swig of the alcoholic beverage in front of me, closing my eyes as the soothing yet burning liquid slides down my throat, sighing in relief. It's been a day, I just got back from a mission with Obi-Wan. He retreated to his own quarters back at the Temple to meditate, which is something he usually does. Me? I like to hit the bar and throw back a few drinks. It helps me sleep, it's kind of like a muscle relaxant for me.

"Another, please." I signal the bartender.

The Bartender nods as grabs me another drink.

I look around and scan the room, this place isn't usually busy. But people do seem to be slowly piling in, as my eyes are scanning they land on a set that are already staring at me. I furrow my brows and turn to look around me just in case she's looking at someone else who's close by but surely enough, she's looking at me.

I take in her delicate features, her soft supple pink lips, her rosy cheeks, her long y/h/c. The way her dark red dress hugs every curve of her body, her fine line tattoos going up the side of her neck and behind her left ear. My gaze returns to her intense one, usually I'm unbothered by a woman staring at me, but this one's caught my eye.

Her plump lips curve up into a smirk as she slowly turns and disappears into the sea of people that just pooled into the bar. I stood up as I tried looking around for her, I couldn't find her anywhere in sight, it was almost like she was just a figment of my imagination.

I sighed in defeat as I sit back down, tossing back the drink that was set down upon me. I pay the Bartender before setting myself back on my feet, making my way to the exit. A warm delicate voice stops me in my tracks.

"Leaving so soon?" The smooth velvety feminine voice questions behind me.

I turn around, my eyes meet the gaze of the one who disappeared from my sights earlier.

"So I wasn't imagining you earlier." I give her a small smile.

She smiles back as she takes a step forward, placing her perfectly manicured hands on her hips.

"Imagining? How much have you drank tonight boy?" She asks, raising an eyebrow.

I chuckle as I cross my arms across my chest.

"I've only had a few. You ran away so quick, I wasn't sure if you were real or not, that's all." I explain.

The gap between us gets smaller as she takes another step towards me, her eyes never breaking away from mine. She reaches one of her hands up and runs it up my chest, my breath hitches slightly at her touch.

"Does that feel real?" She asks.

I look down at her hand then back at her darkened eyes.

"Hmm, what's your name?" I ask.

She smiles as her hand pulls away from me.

"I'll tell you what, buy me a drink and ask me to dance, I might tell you." She says with a wink.

It was impossible not to smile or laugh at her cheeky and flirtatious nature. I've had women hit on me before but they've always been sloppy drunk and it becomes unattractive. But this girl, she's different, well for one, she's not drunk...

"Done." I chuckle.

I follow her back to the bar, she tells the Bartender her order and I order another round for myself. I look over at her while we wait for our drinks to arrive.

"Who did you come here with? You didn't come out here alone did you?" I ask furrowing my brows.

She looks up at me with a smile.

"You know, I really like that is your first question to a girl you just met. Not something along the lines of  'So you come here often?', it's refreshing." She states.

I lightly chuckle while shrugging my shoulders.

"I just thought I would ask, I'd hate to see some sleazy guy try and take advantage of you." I say.

She nods while leaning on her elbow on the bar.

"It's sweet, but no, I didn't come alone. I came with friends. Coming here was their idea. Not mine." She says, looking out to the dance floor.

My eyes follow hers, eventually landing on the small group of young women dancing and being rowdy. My eyes flicked back to my mysterious companion, her facial expression neutral.

"I take it you had every intention of staying in tonight?" I ask.

She tears her eyes away from her drunken friends and brings them back to mine.

"Well, sometimes it's nice to come out, it's just sometimes I don't know why they invite me. Like look at them, they don't even realise I'm not there with them. Like I could go missing and they wouldn't bat an eye." She shrugs as she picks up her drink to take a sip.

"I would." I blurt out.

She lightly laughs as she takes another drink.

"Sweetheart you don't even know me. You don't even know my name." She sasses.

"Yeah well whose fault is that?" I laugh, "You won't even tell me your name."

She smiles as she nods.

"That's right, I did." She smirks.

I finish off my drink and set the empty glass on the bar.

"Hurry up and finish that." I point at her drink.

She furrows her brows.

"Why?" She asks.

"I still owe you a dance remember?" I remind her.

"So eager to know my name." She snickers while taking another drink.

"Or I could just really want to dance with you." I shrug my shoulders casually.

"Yeah, I'm sure that's what it is." She scoffs, finishing off her drink. Setting it down on the bar.

She holds out her hand for me to take. Without hesitation I grab her hand and she leads me out to the dance floor. Coincidentally, a slow song starts to play, she chuckles as she places one hand on my shoulder and the other in my left hand. Whilst my free hand rests on her waist.

I take this opportunity to get to know her a little more.

"Just curious, if you're someone who prefers to be at home and pretty much gets alienated by her own friends...how is it that you sought me out?" I question, looking down at her, finding her eyes in the low club lights.

"You seemed just as lonely as me, but at the same time, looking for a connection of some sort." She reveals, looking up into my eyes.

"Oh really?" I ask.

"Yes. If you weren't looking then why were you looking around the crowd the way you were?" She asks, tilting her head.

Alright she got me there, being a Jedi makes you a pretty lonely person.

"I'm lonely because of my job." I state, pulling away slightly to slowly spin her.

As she spins back around to me again, I pull her back into me.

"That can't be entirely true. Surely you're not alone all of the time." She looks up at me raising an eyebrow.

"Well, I'm not alone at the moment am I? I'm here with you." I smile down at her.

She smiles up at me.

"Y/N." She says.

"Pardon?" I ask.

"Y/N is my name." She confirms, still holding a smile on her face.

"You'd already know who I am." I say.

She stops her movements, causing me to halt mine.

"Yes I know who you are, but right now I don't see a Jedi standing in front of me, I see a man who's gone out of his way to stay at this bar to get to know me and dance with me. I'd like to know the name of this man." She says removing her hands from me, placing them in her hips.

I smile hearing her say that. I'm not even sure how to react, someone who wants to know me, as a person and not know me because I am a Jedi or because of some prophecy.

"I am Anakin." I introduce myself with a nod.

"It's nice to meet you, Anakin." She smiles.

As the night progressed, we got to know each other more. We basically danced the night away, laughing and enjoying ourselves. The more we danced, the closer we got. We lost track of time eventually and it was just after one in the morning, one of her friends was actually paying attention to her, complaining and wanting to head home because she was feeling sick. They all looked pretty out of it. Y/N looked pretty annoyed.

"This is what I dread about coming out, going home to look after them like I'm their mother." She sighs.

"Then don't, leave them." I say.

She looks up at me in surprise.

"And do what? Where do I go?" She asks.

"Come home with me, take a break from your parental duties." I shrug.

She goes to say something but then her friends start complaining a little louder at her and can't even hold themselves up.

"Or, you could deal with that all night and not get any sleep." I sigh.

Y/N looks at her friends then back up at me.

"Lead the way." She says with no hesitation.

                                           •

I close the door of my quarters behind me, turning around and watching Y/N looking around my living space with curiosity.

"I know it's not much." I say taking off my Jedi robe.

"Oh no it's fine. I like it." She smiles, taking off her jacket and heels.

"Well, you can take my bed and I'll just take the couch. " I offer.

She chuckles in amusement.

"What are we? Twelve? I'm sure we can share a bed, Anakin." She scoffs.

Y/N turns to walk over to my bed.

"I mean look at it, you could fit half the city in that thing." She exclaims.

I laugh, walking over to my closet, finding one of my sleeping shorts and a shirt of mine for her to sleep in.

"I'm sure it could, but I'm glad it doesn't." I smile, handing her the clothes, "Here, change into these. They'll be huge on you I know but they might be more comfortable."

"Thank you." She nods as she disappears into the bathroom.

I quickly change into my sleeping pants and a shirt while she's getting changed. I climb into bed, laying back and resting my head on the pillow. Briefly closing my eyes and letting out a drawn out sigh, satisfied with how the day and night has ended.

"Someone's been waiting to crawl in bed all night I can see." Y/N chuckles as she sets her dress over a chair and then climbs into bed beside me.

"It's been a long day, so it does feel nice." I admit.

"And I stopped you from coming here a lot earlier." She says, laying on her side, facing me.

I lay on my side, facing her.

"No, staying out, meeting you. It was worth it. I had fun, probably the most fun I had in a long while." I smile.

She smiles as she moves in closer to me.

"Me too. I'm so used to going out and being alone,  going home and looking after my drunk and soon to be hungover friends. Or going home alone because my friends will meet guys while they are out and go home with them." She sighs.

I reach my hand up and rest it on her check, running my thumb across her cheekbone.

"You're not alone this time." I say in a whisper.

She smiles as she nestles her face into my touch, her eyes staying on mine. A comfortable silence falls between us while we stare into each others intense gaze. And like a gravitational pull, my face is slowly leaning in towards hers, my eyes flickering between her lips and up to her eyes to check for any discomfort. When I didn't see any, I seized the opportunity and closed the space between us, pressing my lips to hers. As our lips slowly moved against each others, her hand slipped up the back of my head, her fingers delicately running through the hair at the back of my head.

The kiss begins to deepen, my hand slides down from her cheek to her waist, pulling her closer into my body until she was flush against my body. She gasps against my lips, my hand then ventures down the curve of her hip, to her thigh, bringing her leg up and hooking it over my own waist.

What caught me by surprise was when she pressed her hips into mine, eliciting a groan to escape my throat.

I guess our night doesn't end here.
