"Perfect," You clapped your hands together and eyed your masterpiece.

The long hours you spent working in the largest library in Coruscant finally paid off, and you had perfectly and strictly assembled the shelves of books in a more organized manner. Each section was in chronological order while the books per section were alphabetical. It was a stressful and lengthy task given to you by the owner of the library, but you were finally done.

You exhaled a breath of relief and turned on your heels to start the closing procedure before going home for the night. You were the only person there since you went into overtime to finish and it was your job to shut off all lights and lock all doors.

Just as you reached the light switch and were about to flick it off, you screamed in surprise when something came crashing in through the large, ceiling length windows. You ran to the nearest desk on instinct and hid behind it with your eyes peeking over the top to watch what appeared to be a blonde man—Anakin Skywalker, but his name is unknown to you at this moment—and a large creature, in a death match.

Around the library they went, destroying all of your hard work. Shelves were knocked down, books were scattered across the floor, and desks were broken into nothing but splinters.

Anakin jumped backwards to avoid the creature's large claws, hitting and knocking down another shelf. And with each book that fell to the ground, a piece of you died just a little bit. All that hard work that took you nearly a week was for nothing, it was destroyed in a matter of seconds.

Anakin raised his hand and used the force to shove the Gundark into the back wall, creating a crack that slid up to the ceiling - scaring you into thinking it was going to collapse. It was then that Anakin felt your fear and whipped his head in your direction, he hadn't realized you were here until this very moment.

You met his eyes that were slightly covered by his damp hair for the first time, and the beauty of them stunned you.

"What are you doing here?" He shouted, and there was also a slight annoyance to his tone.

"I work here!" You shouted back over the roars of thunder and lighting from outside.

Before Anakin could say anything further, he was being charged at by the Gundark who was not back on his feet. He glanced at the creature charging him, then at you. Suddenly, an idea came to mind. It was risky, he knew that, but he also had faith in himself that it would work without you being harmed...hopefully.

"Stay right there okay? Trust me, and just stay right there no matter what," He pointed at you before dodging the charge and running to jump and hide in the shadows. Which wasn't difficult, nearly every light in this place got broken and the only source of illumination was from the lightning outside.

The monster paused and looked around the room for him, and as he did, his eyes landed on you.

When the creature turned and fully faced you, your eyes grew wide. Drool dripped from its mouth and you could smell its putrid odor lingering in the air around you. Then your body was overcome with an icy chill when it started to come for you. It didn't run towards you like it did with Anakin, it didn't consider you a threat. You were an easy kill in its eyes.

So it walked slowly, menacingly, working up its appetite.

As it got closer to you, you took a step back with your lip quivering in fright. Your first instinct was to dash towards the exit, but unfortunately for you, that was right behind the very thing you wanted to get away from and you knew you'd die before ever making it there.

So what you did was decide to have blind faith in the stranger who instructed you not to move.

Seconds later, when the monster was nearing, you heard the Jedi General shout from behind it, "Go to your right!" He demanded and you did as he asked, rushing to the right and away from the monster.

Not long after looking away and running for your life, you heard a loud crash, similar to that of the first crash you heard when they came in. What Anakin had done was use you to distract the creature, and then proceeded to force shove it out of the window you were standing in front of, so it would fall nearly forty floors to its inevitable death.

Which begs a question in your mind, how the hell did they get in here in the first place? You were on the fortieth floor, so them coming in through the window was bizarre.

"Hey, you alright?" Your savior approached you and placed a hand on your shoulder.

If his voice was actually sincere, then you might not have reacted the way you did next. But the fact that he asked in a boring time like he was only doing it just because he felt like he had to is why you didn't feel an ounce of gratitude, "Alright?" You shrugged his hand off of your shoulder, "Everything is destroyed," You gestured around the room that took you too long to organize.

Anakin blinked in surprise at your reaction, but evidently decided to retaliate, "Hey I just saved your life, I think a thank you is more in order than a complaint." He snapped and you turned your head to look at him with a frustrated glare. Instantly he eyed you up and down, really taking in your appearance for the first time and he couldn't help but smile. He thought you looked cute when you were an angry, like a puppy.

You took his smile as he was teasing you, so you narrowed your eyes, "You saved my life from something that would never have been here if it weren't for you and why are you smiling?" You stomped away to see which books could be salvaged.

"Feisty,"Anakin mumbled as he followed you, "But you are fine right?" He asked as he hovered over you while you shifted through a stack of books.

You paused and looked up at him, "No I am not fine. You destroyed what took me forever to put together and now I'm going to have to start all over. And so many of them are unfixable." You picked up one of your favorites that had somehow become mulch.

He folded his arms over his chest, "What's the big deal? They're just books."

Slowly, you looked up into his beautiful eyes, "Just books? That's it-"You threw the one in your hand at him and he quickly dodge it with a surprised expression, "Get out," You picked up another and threw it at him, but this time he used the force to stop the book just before it hit him in the jaw.

He tossed it to the side, "Stop throwing things-" He paused when the next one hit him in the shoulder, it was a thin paperback so the groan of pain he made was overly dramatic in your eyes.

"I said go, before you destroy anything else," You yelled, and just when you threw another book at him, what looked like a yellow ship with the Jedi logo on the side came flying up to the window, followed by an aggressive beeping from a droid.

"My pleasure," Anakin snapped at you before saluting in your direction, "And you're welcome for saving your life." He stood on the windowpane before getting on to the ship and flying off.

You glanced down at the mess with a sigh, "Damn Jedi."

One week later

You were working on a different floor, about two floors higher, since the one you usually worked was thrashed. It was still in the same condition as it was when you left that night, and the only reason your job wasn't ripped away is because apparently a member of the Jedi council came the next morning and told your boss of the incident before you arrived at work.

After that, your boss brushed it under the rug and relocated you to the forty-second floor, and you have no idea when or if the fortieth will ever be refurbished.

You were currently stacking books on the shelves, a job that was oddly fun to you, you liked how things were when they were organized and neat. You glanced up to the top of the shelf and then back to the book in your hand that needed to be put away.

Except when it came to the top shelf, that's the part you hated the most because you couldn't reach it and always had to bring out the ladder — which was heavy and no one ever helped you. So, you came up with a different solution that didn't involve the ladder and it may or may not work, but you were going to at least try.

After checking to make sure no one was looking at you, you jumped and tried sliding the book into its rightful place, which failed and you almost dropped the book on your face, "Damn it," You groaned, trying to jump one more time, and again you couldn't fully reach.

You stood there for a moment while sighing to yourself as you contemplated on climbing, and little did you know — you now had someone watching you with an entertained smile on his face. He was quiet as he watched you, and was leaning on the bookcase at the end of the row, waiting to see what you were going to do.

"Yup, I'm climbing," You said bluntly to yourself as you placed your foot on the bottom shelf and tested it to see if it could take your weight.

Anakin raised his brows and folded his arms over his chest, curious to see if you were going to succeed or break something. He also could easily help you, he's tall enough or he could even use the force to do it, but he enjoyed watching you try out your little ideas. You amused him, even that day he crashed the Gundark into the window, you and the way you spoke to him has never left his mind. No one, much less a woman, has ever talked to him like that, and he oddly enjoyed it when you did.

The bickering with you ignited a small flame that slowly grew within him as the days passed. He didn't know it yet, but it was his first taste of passion.

You had faith in the sturdiness of the bookcase and put your whole wait on it, before taking another step on the next shelf up, "Almost there," You mumbled as you lifted up the book and tried putting it where it belonged, but you were too short, just by and inch or two, "Come on," You tried to reach higher, but your shoe slipped on the edge and you started to fall backwards.

You would have hit the back shelf with your head if Anakin wasn't there, but luckily he had come forward just in time to catch you, "Hello again," He smiled down at you while he held your bridal style in his arms.

It took you a few seconds to recognize him since you were momentarily blinded by Anakin's crystal blue eyes, "You," You said as he placed you on your feet and you kept staring at him in surprise, "What are you doing here?"

Anakin sighed as he dropped his head down, "I came here to apologize to you," He glanced up, "I was a bit of an ass the other night and inconsiderate, so I'm sorry."

If he had come to you and said this a week ago, you probably would have thrown another book at his head. But you've had time to calm down and you even had some guilt of your own for the things you said, "I feel like I should be the one apologizing, I was so rude to you and you really didn't do anything wrong except try to help me, but I was so stressed that I took it all out-"

"Breathe," He interrupted you with a chuckle, "There's no need for an apology, just come with me, I want to show you something." He grabbed your hand and pulled you with him — and out of curiosity, you let him.

He led you to the elevator and pressed the button to take you down to the fortieth floor.

"Question," He turned to look at you as you both waited for the doors to open, "What would you say is your favorite kind of food?"

You shrugged, "I don't know, I pretty much like everything. Food and I have a very loving relationship."

He chuckled as he looked towards the doors that slid open, "Noted."

Both of you stepped into the room and your jaw almost hit the floor. Everything looked...perfect. There were brand new shelves, every book looked like it was in perfect condition, the windows were fixed, and even the tables and desks were replaced by newer models, "Oh my god, did you do this?" You looked at him in surprise.

He nodded, "Yes but I had a lot of help and let me tell you, getting approval for the money from the council was a huge pain in the ass-" The wind was knocked out of him when you lunged forward and pulled him into a grateful hug.

He stumbled back in surprise, but soon hugged you back and subtly inhaled the sweet scent of your perfume. After you realized what you were doing, you quickly pulled away and stumbled an apology, "I'm so sorry I shouldn't-" You cleared your throat after choking on your own words, "I'm just so grateful, this is amazing thank you."

Anakin smiled, proud of the work he put into this place. Now he understands why you were so upset, he would be too if someone destroyed something he worked hard on, "You were owed it, I figured you deserved more than to just keep your job."

"That was you who told him what happened?" You realized. He nodded and now you felt even more guilty for yelling at him the way you did, and basically assaulting him with books, "I don't know how I could ever repay you."

"I don't want you to," He waved his hand in dismissal, "But I was wondering if you would like to have dinner with me, or lunch, today" He added quickly, "Either is fine with me,"

You blinked in surprise, "Are you asking me on a date, Jedi guy?"

He smiled at your nickname for him, "My name is Anakin," He told you and again you were taken by surprise. You've heard stories revolving around that very name — the republic's hero, "And I might be, or we could just go as friends, I'm okay with that too." He smirked as he eyed you up and down.

You were flattered, especially given how gorgeous he was, and you were also curious so of course you said yes.

"Will you marry me (y/n)?" Anakin was down on one knee in the very place that you two met, the fortieth floor of the library two years ago.

Tears immediately filled your eyes and you were at a loss for words. All you could do was give a nod as you covered your mouth and cried.

Anakin stood up with tears in his eyes as he pulled you into a hug, "You mean the galaxy to me (y/n) and meeting you was the best day of my life," He whispered into your ear as you continued to sob into his shoulder from how happy you were, "I love you more than anything."

You pulled away from the kiss to cup his cheeks, "I love you too Ani, so much," You sniffled before crashing your lips to his.

You both dropped down to the floor as you took each other's clothes off and made love in the place that changed both of your lives for the better. It didn't take Anakin long to fall madly in love with you, all it took was that one lunch and you had your hook so deep into him - he was obsessed.

And the feeling was definitely mutual. You two have been inseparable these past two years, and you both hoped that you would be inseparable for the rest of your lives.

"I hate it," You ripped off the yellow scarf and tossed it behind you with a sigh.

Anakin came up behind you after catching it and proceeded to place it back around your neck in a loop, "I think it compliments every beautiful feature on your face, you're just too hard on yourself." He kissed the back of your neck, making you blush.

Today was your first day back at work after your honeymoon, and you were trying to look presentable because you also had an interview there for a management position, "I'm supposed to look spiffy Anakin, and a scarf makes me look lazy," You turned in the mirror a few times to eye the outfit.

"It's cold outside," He reminded you, "They're not going to not give you the job because you decided to wear a scarf." He rolled his eyes as he hugged you from behind and placed his chin on your shoulder. He looked at you through the mirror and as always, his heart skipped a beat just by looking into your eyes, "You look perfect, and you got this, you're going to be amazing and I'll be waiting here for you to celebrate." He gently kissed the side of your neck, making you shiver.

You hugged his arms with a content sigh, "Please be shirtless."

He chuckled, "That's a promise, now go before you're late." He hugged you tight one more time before letting go, "I love you," He bent down and kissed your cheek.

"I love you too babe, I'll be back soon."

Vader snapped his eyes open when there was a tap on his bacta tank, it pulled him away from his memories of you. His yellow eyes stared down at the man who swallowed nervously, knowing what he just did has killed many others before. This was the only time he could ever dream of you, because it was the only time he could ever sleep, "I'm sorry to disturb you, but you asked me to let me know when we've arrived."

In a matter of minutes, he was out of the bacta tank and back into his armor.

He stepped out of the room and off of his ship, right into the middle of Coruscant. He had a set destination in mind, and he forbade anyone from following him. So everyone remained on the ship, except for him.

He made his way to the building as pieces of his memory flashed through his mind.

"There was an attack in the heart of Coruscant today made by the separatists, many buildings were destroyed and many lives have been lost," Master Ti signed with devastation in her voice.

The streets of Coruscant were quiet, and the wind blew Vader's cape to the side.

"Which buildings were destroyed?" Anakin asked as he felt himself grow sick.

Master Ti began to name them all, including the very one you were supposed to be in, having your interview.

Vader arrived at the mass rubble that was once the library, and he slowly raised his hand up and placed it on one of the large pieces of debris. This was the only tomb he had, the only place he could go to properly mourn you.

You died in the attack, as did everyone else in the building.

"No, no, no," Anakin got to the site of destruction with tears in his eyes. Bodies were everywhere and there was chaos all around. He began throwing rocks and large pieces of debris with the force in different directions, trying to find you, "Please don't let this be real, please." He cried desperately.

Hours he searched, he searched and he never found you, all he did find was a yellow scarf with a tint of red.

His screams of anguish were all anyone could hear for miles.

And to this day, three years later, he still thinks about you. He visits this gravesite every chance he gets, and he still has his wedding ring, he keeps it hidden in his suit everyday. You were the love of his life and losing you so suddenly and so horribly drove him to insanity, he wasn't the same man anymore. The only thing that still made him even partially Anakin, was the fact that he still loved you.

Vader dropped his hand down before squeezing it into a fist, "Why are you here?" He said in his robotic tone without turning around to face the intruder.

"You have to let her go Lord Vader," Palpatine said in his sickening voice, "These pointless visits are a distraction."

"Kill me if you must," Vader turned to stare at him through the red lenses on his helmet, "But I will never let her go."

I've been sitting on this idea for awhile and despite how sound it turned out to be, I hope I did the idea justice ❤️
