Part 1/4
(Modern AU)
-I'm no medical expert so not everything mentioned might be entirely accurate. I just watch a lot of Grey's Anatomy and sorta winged it 🤷🏻‍♀️
-And this imagine is in no way related to the bop

"I know, I can't wait," You exclaimed with false excitement over the phone as you glanced to the backseat of your car to gaze at the wedding dress you just picked up for your big day tomorrow, "I love you too Clovis, I'll see you down the aisle." You looked down to hang up the phone with a sigh.

You loved him, he was a decent guy, but deep down you kept wondering if this is something you truly wanted. You settled, that much you knew, but it was because Clovis was one of the few guys to show you real affection. After having a string of shitty relationships your entire life of men who made you feel unloved and worthless; you stuck with the one man who didn't. Thinking that this would be your one shot at anything close to love. You had given up on finding that raw passionate love that was all consuming like in the movies, you didn't believe a person like you was worthy of such happiness..

Blaring lights and the sound of horns pulled you out of your thoughts; you gasped as your eyes went wide and the last thing you remember seeing is a car heading for you straight on, before your whole world went black.

~*~•~*~

"Can you hear me (y/n)?" The sound of a sweet voice could be heard as you slowly opened your eyes to see a small light shifting between both of your irises. You slowly blinked when the light disappeared; your blurry vision making it almost impossible to make out the person who was talking to you, "You gave us all quite a scare, no one thought you'd pull through. Well except me, I could tell you were a fighter." The smooth voice spoke to you.

"Where-" You tried to ask him where you were, but your voice was too weak. You couldn't remember where you were or how you even got here.

A man brought his face closer to yours and you could only make out his ocean blue eyes, "You're in the hospital, I'm Dr.Anakin Skywalker," He spoke softly, "You were in a car accident and sustained substantial cranial injuries. Can you tell me the last thing you remember sweetheart?" He asked you softly without breaking the eye contact.

You thought for a moment, but slowly shook your head. You couldn't remember a single thing, any time you try and go back on any memories, all you're met with is a black void of nothingness.

He hummed as he helped you sit up, you winced at the slight pain it caused you, but it was nothing unbearable, "How about your name; do you know that?" He asked as he was eyeing you; waiting for a response.

You nodded, "(y/n)."

He gave you a soft chuckle that sounded like music to your ears, "Now do you know that because it's what I called you, or do you actually know that." He asked as he tilted his head and smiled down at you sweetly.

You sighed sheepishly, "Because it's what you called me." You responded honestly in a weak, hoarse tone that sounded like you hadn't spoken in weeks.

He nodded knowingly with a small sigh, he was worried that it would be this bad, "Sounds like you have a serious case of retrograde amnesia (y/n)." He informed you as he grabbed his stethoscope and placed it on your chest, "I just need to check your vitals real quick and I'll bring in a specialist for you." He could hear how quick your heart was beating, "Are you alright?" He asked with concern and you nodded quickly.

You felt embarrassed that the only reason your heart was beating so fast was because he was making you nervous with how handsome he was. He lightly placed a hand on your back as he continued listening to your heart beat.

His touch caused you take a sharp inhale and you were holding in a breath. He noticed this, "You know, when a doctor checks your heart rate, we also have to count how many breaths you take and you're making that impossible for me Miss (y/n)." He teased you with a smirk; your cheeks turned red from embarrassment as you let out the gush of air that you had been holding.

He knew how handsome of a man he was, so this reaction was something he was all too familiar with. Usually it irritated him, because it made his job a bit harder when women would swoon instead of answering his questions, or when he'd have to start the counting process all over again because they were holding in their breath just as you were, but you were different.. he thought the way you blushed was adorable.

"Sorry," You responded and he shook his head in response with a small chuckle.

"Don't worry about it sweetheart," He moved the stethoscope from your chest and placed it on your back, "Now I'm going to listen to your lungs, so take a deep inhale for me," He instructed you and you did as he requested, "Now exhale." You breathed out and repeated the process a few more times. He took the tool out of his ears and placed it behind his neck, "Are you experiencing any headaches?" He grabbed a chart and waited for your response.

You nodded, "I have one right now."

He wrote that down, "Thats normal, but I'll get you some pain meds so you can be more comfortable." He glanced up at you with a smile, you smiled nervously back. He looked back down to his chart quickly. He didn't want you to see that your smile was making him as nervous as his was making you.

"How long have I been here; and is there anything about me that you can tell me?" You asked curiously, although you were sure he probably knows nothing.

"About a week" He responded; causing your eyes to widen slightly, "And let's see," He walked over to the table next to your bed and picked up a clear bag. He opened it and pulled out a card, "According to your drivers license I know that you are (y/n) (y/l/n), you're twenty-five, you have (y/e/c) eyes, (y/h/c) hair, you're (your height), you're awfully short," He teased causing you to laugh, "oh and it says here that you wear glasses." He smirked as he handed you the card. You eagerly accepted it and eyed the picture, is that me? It frustrated you that you couldn't even recognize yourself. It felt like you were looking at a total stranger.

"I'm a lot uglier than I expected." You joked to make yourself feel better as you looked up to the doctor, who shook his head as he took the card back from your hand.

He found it interesting that a woman in your condition would be making jokes, it's not something he's used to. Most would usually freak out or cry from the overwhelming information, but not you. It makes him wonder what your life was really like before all this, to cause your subconscious heart and mind to not really miss it.

"You're quite the opposite actually," He winked in an effort to flirt with you; causing your heart to flutter as he placed the item back in the bag. He handed it to you; just in case you decided to want to go through it and hopefully spark up a memory. He sighed and looked down at his watch, "Oh It's a lot later than I expected, there won't be any specialists available until morning."

You nodded; not really caring as you leaned your head back down to the pillow, "Do I get visitors?" You asked curiously.

He nodded as he remembered the annoying man that comes constantly and vexes him with non-stop questions, "A man claiming to be your fiancé."

Your eyes widened as you tuned to meet his beautiful blue eyes once more, "I'm sorry, my what?"

~*~•~*~
A few days later

"How are you feeling darling?" The man that you learned to be your fiancé fluffed your pillow and you leaned your back against it.

You nodded to him with a sigh, "Better than usual, no headaches."

He smiled as he pulled out his phone to start showing you pictures again, much to your annoyance, "Do you recognize these people?" He asked; causing you to shake your head for the hundredth time today.

He sighed as he began swiping through more, "Clovis, I don't think pictures are going to help me. I feel like you've shown me every single one in your phone and I still can't remember anything."

He eagerly started looking through apps on his phone, "Not true, I haven't shown you your Instagram."

You sighed as he stared intently at his phone, you glanced down to your left hand where a beautiful ring set comfortably on your ring finger. But you didn't feel like it belonged to you, you reached down and pulled it off to eye the diamond as it shined in the ceiling lights. This must've cost a fortune, "Clovis, what do you do for a living?" You asked without taking your eyes off of it.

"I'm the CEO of Scipio corporations, that's how we met actually. You applied for the job of my assistant," He chuckled softly and you felt his hand on your shoulder.

"And did I get it?" You asked as you turned to him with a smile; clenching the unfamiliar ring in your hand.

He nodded with a smile of his own, "Yes actually, but now you work for the Jedi publishing company as an Editor."

You nodded, "Good for me I guess." You turned to face the door when you heard it open and Dr.Skywalker walked in with the smile that made you melt.

"How is my favorite patient doing?" He asked as he rested a hand on the end of your bed. A smile spread across your cheeks when he called you his favorite; Clovis noticed this and he didn't like it.

"Physically I'm fine, mentally; I still can't remember my own birthday." You shrugged with a chuckle.

He nodded with a small chuckle of his own, "Well at least you feel better physically," He pulled a card out of his pocket and handed it to you, "Your specialist asked me to give this to you so you can contact her for your appointments. But other than that," He handed a clipboard to you, "These are your discharge papers, you're free to go." As excited as you were to get out of the hospital, you were also sad. You knew that once you left then you had no reason to be here; you had no reason to see him. You had to go home with this man that you supposedly love; but you'd much rather be here with the man in front of you.

It saddened Anakin to know that you were finally leaving. He enjoyed these past few days that you were awake when he'd come in here to talk to you and you'd always somehow make him laugh. He didn't even need to be in here as much as he came; he just enjoyed being in your presence, you made him feel a certain type of way. To him, your smile lit up the room and his first thought in the morning is how happy he is that he gets to come to work and see that very smile. But he knew you were a taken woman, which he knew he needed to respect that. Even though he could tell by the handful of times he's met Clovis that you could do better. But who is he to tell you something like that? He's your doctor and nothing more so he kept his opinion to himself.

"Isn't that amazing babe?" Clovis broke the small silence that sat in the room.

You plastered a fake smile on your face, "Yeah it's great." You grabbed the the clipboard from his grasp and your eyes met his once more. He gave you a sad smile that he was trying to hide as he backed away towards the door.

"Just turn that in to the first desk once you have it filled out," He sighed quietly, "It was a pleasure Miss (y/l/n), I hope all goes well for you."

You nodded feeling your sadness intensify, a part of you wondered if he felt the same lingering feelings that you held, but you thought of it as just wishful thinking. Besides, you have a fiancé that you love.. right? "Thank you Dr. Skywalker, it was a pleasure for me as well."

He nodded and turned away; leaving the room and you let out a sad sigh as you filled out the paper work.

After getting dressed into clothes that Clovis had brought you in preparation for when it was time for you to leave; you both began leaving the room, a room you thought of as the only home you knew. Which might sound strange to some, but they don't understand what it's like to live a life that didn't feel like it was yours. All you really knew was one person, one room, and one short life.

"Clovis," You stopped him in the hallway and he eyed you curiously, "Can you turn these in for me, I forgot something." You held the discharge papers towards him.

He nodded with a smile, "Of course, I'll wait over there for you."

"Thank you." You smiled back as you went towards the room that you had been staying in for the past two weeks. You walked over to the small table and pulled your wallet out of your pocket; pulling out your drivers license. You smiled as you remembered the day you opened your eyes and Anakin read this off to you, it was one of the first memories you had.

You placed it down on the table and left the room.
