Chapter 2: Into the Factory

After entering the building, Evan and his group found themselves in the main entrance where they immediatly spotted a reception desk directly in front of them. The setup looked like a typical entrance to any high-class company facility, complete with a mural of a cheerful, blue toy saying "Welcome!" behind the desk.

The room was dimly lit, with the fading light of the dusk sky filtering through the windows. However, the group also spotted two overhead lights that were still on, leaving them quite puzzled.

"I thought the place would be completely out of power," said Jack.

"Well, guess that proves my theory. They must be keeping tabs on this place." Drew replied.

The group then approached the reception desk with Nina and Mike going behind it to search for anything valuable. Nina examined the computer on the table, wondering if it still worked.

Meanwhile, Mike placed a finger on the desk's surface, noticing something odd. The desk was unexpectedly clean with little to no dust.

"It's not dusty..." he muttered to himself. His attention then shifted to a green VHS tape that was on the desk. "Hey, I found a tape." Mike informed to the others whilst picking up the tape.

"What does it say?" Drew asked.

"It says... Leith Pierre Closing," Mike read aloud from the writing on the tape. He then turned toward the corner of the room near the reception desk, where there is a TV along with a green tape player below it. "And I think that must be the tape player."

"That's convenient." Jack remarked.

"Maybe we should play it to see what it is." Evan suggested.

"Will it even work, though? It is over ten years old." Nina said doubtfully.

"Well, only one way to find out." Mike replied before walking over to the tape player. He inserted the green tape and stepped back.

The group gathered around as the TV screen flickered to life. Static buzzed for a moment before revealing a dark screen with the faint outline of a toy's hand. Then, a man's voice was heard:

"Hi, my name is Leith Pierre and I'm the head of innovation here at the Playtime Co. Toy Factory. If you're seeing this, then you're trespassing. Yeah, we play this little tape on loop whenever we close the factory for the day."

Evan and the others share uneasy glances when the man named Leith Pierre knew what they're doing, even if it is from a pre-recorded message.

"So trespasser, just to make you aware. While we pride ourselves primarily on our high quality toys and excellent childcare, we also pride ourselves on our security. For example, this facility is full of hidden motion triggers which, once set off, will turn on the factory's emergency alarms and directly contact the authorities! And that's one of the more tame aspects of our security system. No spoilers..."

"Great..." Evan muttered, hearing the last part. It made him very concerned of the security system that Lieth had placed. He wasnt the only one as he glanced at Mike and Nina, also having concerned looks.

"So, you've got my warning. It's not too late to turn around. I just hope you're certain whatever you're doing is worth it."

The tape then ended, leaving the group in silence.

Mike was the first to break it. "I think we should just do what he says and leave..."

"It was just a tape, Mike." Jack scoffed, his voice dismissive. "They probably made it sound scary on purpose to keep people like us away."

"Regardless, we need to stay cautious." Nina interjected, her tone firm. "He even said there are hidden motion triggers around."

"She's right." Drew agreed, folding his arms. "If the lights are still on after ten years, then some of the security measures might still be active. That said, Jack might have a point-the tape could just be a deterrent to scare trespassers."

Evan stayed silent, unease churning in his gut. Something about the warning felt too specific, too intentional.

"Well, since we're not leaving yet, where should we start looking?" Mike asked.

"The entrance is big enough, so we should start here," Drew said. "I noticed a gift shop on the right when we came in. Nina and I will check there. Jack, Evan, Mike-you three search the rest of the area and see what you can find."

"You got it." Jack replied while Evan and Mike gave him a nod. The group then split off as Jack, Evan, and Mike start to look around the main entrance of the facility.

"Hey, Evan." Jack asked. "You've been here before, right? Any suggestions on where we should start looking?"

Evan felt tensed up from the question, but he quickly reminded himself of what he'd told to them back at their meeting, which was where he and his family had taken a tour of the factory years ago. Sure, it was a lie, but it was safer to him than opening up about his past.

After a brief pause, he replied, "We could try the main lobby. The entrance is just behind the reception desk."

Jack nodded in response, and the trio hopped over the turnstile gates at the side of the reception desk. Jack and Mike switched on their flashlights, casting its light into the shadowy corners as they soon reached the door to the lobby. However it was sealed shut.

Jack handed his flashlight to Evan. "Hold this for me," he said, before pulling out his crowbar.

Squaring his shoulders, he jabbed the crowbar into the gap at the bottom of the door and tried to pry it open. Despite his efforts, the door wouldn't budge.

"Ugh," Jack groaned, stepping back and panting. "Damn thing's locked up tight. How are we supposed to get through this?"

"Look," Mike said, pointing toward a small panel on top of the door with a glowing blue handprint on its surface. "That must be some of sort of scanner lock. I think it is meant to unlock the door." Mike noted.

Jack turned to Evan, "Do you know anything that can unlock the door here?"

"No idea," Evan admitted while shaking his head, earning an eye roll from Jack, "but I noticed another room on the left when we came in. Maybe there's something in there that can help."

"Well, guess we don't have much of a choice." Jack replied.

With that, the trio turned and headed toward the left side of the main entrance that is labeled as "Security". They found themselves in what looked like a waiting area, with a row of seats lining the wall along with a poster on the wall.

The trio then went straight to the door marked "Staff Only," leading to the sealed security room. Jack prepared to use his crowbar again, but Evan stopped him.

"Wait, we could use that to unlock the door." Evan said, pointing to a panel beside the door. The panel had nine buttons of various colors and seemed to function as a lock for the door. The following colours in the panel were; Green, Yellow, Light Blue, Red, Purple, Blue, Grey, Brown, and Pink.

"Very interesting." Mike remarked.

"I think we need a code for it, though," Evan said.

"Just great..." Jack muttered. "Why did they even choose colors instead of numbers?"

"Aesthetic choice, maybe?" Mike suggested with a shrug. "Either way, the code has to be around here somewhere."

"Alright, you go on ahead and search for it, while Evan and I figure it out from here," Jack said.

Mike raised an eyebrow. "Are you seriously thinking about guessing the code? That's a terrible idea! You could lock it up completely if you mess around too much."

Jack waved off the concern. "Relax, I'll have Evan do the work. If anything happens, blame him."

Evan shot Jack a look of disbelief. "Seriously?"

Mike shook his head. "Whatever..." He said before walking off to search elsewhere in the main entrance, starting with the reception desk.

"Sooo, what do you think the code might be?" Evan asked.

"How should I know? I haven't been here more than you have. Just don't screw it up," Jack replied.

"Thanks for the help..." Evan muttered under his breath as he turned to the panel and began trying to figure out the code. He stared at the array of buttons, faltering. Having nine colours with a four-digit code meant there was a one-in-a-thousand chance of guessing correctly without any clues.

"Let's try these four..." Evan pressed the red, yellow, green, and blue buttons, assuming the primary colors might be the code. However, the panel buzzed, denying his attempt.

"O-Okay... how about..." He tried black, brown, light blue, and pink next, but it resulted in another buzz.

Evan sighed and began a third attempt, methodically pressing another set of buttons. Jack stood behind him with his arms crossed, watching him fail again and again.

"This is gonna be a long night..." Jack muttered.

Meanwhile, Drew and Nina walked over to the gift shop, passing by another poster featuring a dinosaur named Bron. The poster encouraged readers to "Eat healthy like Bron!"

Drew opened the door and the two stepped inside. They begin to observe the room. Surprisingly, it looked almost intact, save for a few discarded toy boxes scattered on the floor and a toppled shelf. Above them, a toy train was still circling its tracks, running as if the factory had never been abandoned.

"Even with the place shut down, the train's still chugging along," Nina remarked.

"Must be electric-powered," Drew replied. "Anyway, you take the left side; I'll check the right."

Nina nodded, and the two began their search.

The room was filled with shelves stocked with toy boxes-Boogie Bot, Candy Cat, and more. Drew approached the toppled shelf on his side and picked up a Boogie Bot toy box lying on the ground. He shook it gently and he felt the toy still inside the box.

"Perfect." Drew thought. These toy boxes were exactly what they needed, but it wasn't enough for him. Even then, they needed something to carry them all out like a trolley.

"Hey, you gotta see this!" Nina called out.

Drew turned his head and saw her standing by the cashier area. He walked over and asked her what's wrong, but his question trailed off as he looked down at what had caught Nina's attention.

On the cashier table sat a Boogie Bot toy that is broken, with its head detached from its body. What really caught their attention, however, was the dried bloodstain beneath the broken toy.

"What the hell happened here?" Drew muttered.

"I don't know," Nina replied. "Maybe someone broke in before and got hurt? Or..." she added with a smirk, "maybe the toy itself got murdered?"

The two let out a slight chuckle at the absurd thought.

"Weird, though." Drew said, his gaze lingering on the 'murdered' Boogie Bot.

"Yeah... disturbing, even," Nina agreed. "That's one less toy we could've sold."

"Talk about selling toys," Drew eyed the boxes in the room. "I think we can bring these with us."

"Took the words right out of my mouth," Nina replied, then asked, "But are you sure this is enough?"

Drew shook his head. "No, it might earn us a few bucks, but not enough to sustain us. We'll need to grab more from inside the factory."

"Alright, if you say so," Nina said with a shrug.

The two heard footsteps behind them and turned around to see Mike walking into the room. "Hey, guys," he said, waving.

"Hey, Mike." they greeted back.

"What are you doing here?" Drew asked. "Aren't you supposed to be with Jack and Evan?"

"Well, we were heading to the security room over there," Mike explained, gesturing behind him. Drew and Nina looked past him to see Jack and Evan near a door, the latter still trying to figure out the code.

"But there's a lock panel blocking the way," Mike continued. "It needs a code to open. I've been searching around the main entrance for it. I even checked the reception desk, but no luck. I figured it might be somewhere in this gift shop."

"Sorry to burst your bubble, Mike," Nina said, "but we haven't found anything that looks like a code for that door."

Mike sighed in frustration. "Fantastic..."

"Yeah, the only thing we've found is that train up there." Drew added, pointing to the small train chugging along on the track above them.

"Train?" Mike looked up at the train Drew had mentioned. He was about to dismiss it but then noticed something peculiar. The train's sections were painted in different colors: the front was green, followed by pink, yellow, and red. To top it off, there were arrows on the train, indicating the order of the colors.

Mike thought back of the lock panel, remembering four of the buttons that has the exact colours from the train. His face lit up as he realized the connection, earning confused glances from Drew and Nina.

"Uh, you good, Mike?" Nina asked.

"I think I've found the code!" Mike said, his smile widening.

"From the train?" Drew asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah," Mike nodded. "The lock uses colors for the code, and I think the train is showing us the order based on its colors."

"Very odd choice." Nina remarked.

"Great, now I can let Jack and Evan know-"

Suddenly, the sound of shattering glass cut him off, drawing all three of their attention to the security door, where the noise had come from.

"What the hell?!" Drew exclaimed.

____

"Dammit..." Evan cursed. It was the eight time that the code he put failed to access the door, the previous attempt had him pressing the green, pink, yellow, and purple buttons.

Jack begin to grew impatient, stepping his foot rapidly. He then glanced at the locked door and notices the tempered glass. Eyeing his crowbar, he started to contemplate what he was about to do.

"You know what, screw it." He said aloud, which Evan heard.

"What are you doing?" Evan asked, seeing Jack approaching the door. Concentrating his breath, Jack then prepares his crowbar, pointing the sharper end of the tool towards the glass of the door.

Evan quickly realized what was about to happen. "Wait, stop!" he called out, but it was too late.

Jack slammed the crowbar into the glass, shattering it into pieces. The sound echoed through the main entrance, drawing the attention of Drew, Mike, and Nina all the way from the gift shop.

"What the hell?!" Drew exclaimed as he rushed out of the gift shop with Mike and Nina behind him. The trio stopped in their tracks when they saw the shattered glass on the door, and Jack standing nearby.

"Jack, what the fuck did you do?!" Nina exclaimed.

"We tried to open the door, but it's locked with a code. Evan tried to figure it out, but he kept failing, so I took matters into my own hands." he said in a nonchalant matter, gesturing toward the broken glass with his crowbar.

"I thought Mike told you he was looking for the code." Drew said, his voice tinged with frustration.

Jack crossed his arms, glancing at Mike. "He was taking too long. I got impatient," he retorted.

"But I just found the code! It's green, pink, yellow, and red!" Mike interjected. "I was about to go back and tell you, until you smashed the door like a lunatic!"

"Oh..." Jack blinked in surprise before nervously chuckling. "Well, it is what it is, right?"

The group collectively groaned in exasperation, with Drew especially ticked off by Jack's recklessness. Eventually, Mike walked over to Evan and explained the code to him. Evan nodded in understanding before pressing the following buttons: Green, Pink, Yellow, and Red.

With a soft click, the door to the security room unlocked and swung open.

"You're lucky you didn't set off an alarm with that stunt." Drew said, shooting a glare at Jack.

"They must've forgotten to install one." Nina commented.

"At least that's good." Jack said.

"It doesn't make it okay, man," Mike replied, frowning in disapproval. "We could've gotten caught."

Evan nodded in agreement, though a part of him secretly wished an alarm did gone off - at least then they'd have an excuse to leave this creepy place.

"Alright, with that out of the way, let's stay focused," Drew said, taking charge again. "Mike, Evan, you two head into the security room and see if you can find anything useful. Jack, you're sticking with us to help move the boxes of toys out of the gift shop. The last thing I want is you causing another ruckus."

The group then split away again as Mike and Evan went in the security room.

Inside, they found some computers on the desks, a few chairs scattered around, and a wall lined with monitors, to which they assume it is for the factory's surveillance system. However, all the monitors were turned off.

"Looks like the cameras are down." Mike remarked.

"Well, good for me." Evan said as he pulled off his ski mask to reveal his face. "This thing's been driving me crazy. It's itchy as hell."

"You should've brought a better mask, man." Mike said.

"It's the only one I have, alright? Don't judge me."

The two continued searching the room for anything valuable or useful, particularly something that might help unlock the blue hand scanner on the main lobby door.

Then, Evan's eyes were drawn to a TV with a blue VHS player underneath it, positioned near a glass case. Behind the glass, he could see an object sitting in a delivery shaft. He noticed there was no way of opening the glass case, and he wouldn't try breaking it either like Jack's little stunt on the door.

Meanwhile, Mike spotted a blue VHS tape near one of the computers in the corner. He then picked it up and showed it to Evan. "Hey, I found another tape."

"What does that say?" Evan asked.

"GrabPack Training..." Mike read aloud, squinting at the label on the back of the tape. "What's a GrabPack?"

Evan glanced at the glass case. "I think it might be that thing behind the glass." He pointed to the object in the delivery shaft.

"Any idea how to open it?"

"No," Evan shook his head, "but we should watch the tape on the player here."

Mike nodded and walked over to the VHS player. He inserted the tape and stepped back as he and Evan waited. After a few moments, the TV flickered to life.

Instead of a dark screen with just audio, a training video from Playtime Co. appeared, introducing the GrabPack.

The tape starts off with the logo of Playtime Co. . The logo was then shifted to the upper-left corner of the screen before displaying the GrabPack, a backpack-like device with retractable cables attached to two hand-like tools: one blue and one red.

"So that's the GrabPack, huh? Interesting." Mike remarked.

"And look, it has a blue hand." Evan pointed out.

"Oh yeah. We can use that for the scanner."

The video transitioned to the instructions on how to use the GrabPack. It demonstrated how to equip the device by tightening the straps around the arms. The user was then shown gripping the handles of the hand cannons and pulling the trigger to fire the red hand at a box. The hand latched onto the box, then retracted when the trigger was released.

The next scene shows the red hand gripping on the same box while the user held down the trigger. The cable then retracts, pulling the box toward the user, demonstrating that objects can be pulled when holding the trigger.

The tape then provided a warning to only use the GrabPack on small objects or designated handles. It specifically cautioned against firing it at coworkers. The video illustrated this with a graphic scene: The user shot the red hand at another person's head, which the next scene resulted in a decapitation. The head remained attached to the hand as the body collapsed to the floor with blood pouring out.

Evan and Mike were slighty disturbed at the graphic scene, mentally noting to never to use the GrabPack that way on each other-or anyone else in their group.

The video continued by explaining how the GrabPack could be used to transfer power from one grid to another, restoring electricity in the process.

The tutorial concluded with a "Thank you" message, followed by a reminder to use the GrabPack responsibly. It ended with Playtime Co.'s signature slogan: "What's the time? Playtime!" before the tape shut off.

Just as the tape ended, Evan and Mike noticed the glass case immediately opening, granting them access to the GrabPack in the delivery shaft. It was almost as if the tape had acted as a key.

"Okay, that felt pretty convenient." Evan remarked.

"Well, on the bright side, we got the GrabPack." Mike replied.

He walked up to the GrabPack and pulled it out of the delivery shaft. It was a little lighter than he had expected. As Mike examined the GrabPack, he noticed that one of the hand cannons was missing.

"Looks like one of the hands is missing," Mike observed.

"At least it's not the blue one." Evan pointed out. With the blue hand intact, they could still use it to unlock the door to the main lobby.

With nothing else to search for in the room, the two began walking out.

____

Outside of the security room. Drew, Jack, and Nina had carried all the box of toys from the gift shop and placed them near the front door.

Drew then noticed Jack was standing near the security room. Approaching him, Drew notices that Jack was looking at the poster on the wall. The poster featured a pig-tailed, red-haired toy girl with wide eyes, accompanied by the words: "Poppy Wants to Play."

"So this is Poppy, huh?" Jack said.

"Yeah," Drew replied. "She's like the main mascot of this toy company. The doll was super popular back then - given it could talk, behave, and interact with its owner in a really human manner.

"I heard she could even hold natural conversations without using pre-recorded lines," Nina chimed in, adjusting the boxes near the front door. "It's like she was... alive."

Jack shivered at the thought. "That sounds creepy."

"That's just a rumor." Drew affirmed. "Still, it was revolutionary at the time. That's how Playtime Co. got so popular in the first place."

"Shame they shut down. I would've loved to own one of their toys," Nina said wistfully.

The trio heard the security room door open as Mike and Evan stepped out, with Mike holding the GrabPack in his hands. Drew, Jack, and Nina head over to them.

"So, what did you two find?" Drew asked.

"Uh, are you blind?" Jack quipped, nodding toward the GrabPack, to which Drew shot him a brief glare.

"We found this GrabPack." Mike explained. "Apparently, it's something the employees used in this factory."

"That's a weird way to spell 'backpack,'" Nina remarked.

"Well, it's not a backpack, that's for sure," Drew said before turning back to Mike before noticing something with Evan, "Hey, Evan, why aren't you wearing your mask?"

"Oh, the surveillance system in that room was off, so we shouldn't have to cover our faces for this," Evan explained.

"That's what they want you to think," Drew countered. "There are probably hidden cameras scattered all over the factory, just waiting to catch us. Best to keep the mask on, man."

"Fine..." Evan sighed and took out his mask back from his pocket before putting it on again, despite his displeasure.

Jack interjected, shifting the conversation. "Alright, back to the GrabPack-how exactly is it going to help us?"

"In the tutorial video Evan and I watched, it showed that the GrabPack can do a lot of things. Most importantly, it can unlock the door to the main lobby over there."

"Good to know," Jack said with a nod, then he asks, "So... who's going to wear it?"

The group paused for a moment, beginning to ponder, until Drew then glances towards Evan. "I say Evan should."

"W-What?" Evan stammered from what he said. The others also turned to Drew in surprise.

"Why him?" Mike asked.

"He's the only one who knows this place better than us," Drew explained. "With him using the GrabPack, he can help us navigate more effectively." The group considered the idea, but Evan looked uneasy.

"I-I don't know about this... Can't you wear it instead, Drew? You're like the leader of the group," Evan suggested.

"That I am, but I'm also one of the muscles here. Someone's got to help carry all the toys, after all." Drew gestured to the box of toys by the entrance, before placing a reassuring hand on Evan's shoulder. "Besides, I can't just let you sit back and be a burden. We need everyone pitching in if we're going to pull this heist off."

"Yeah, for once, you won't be useless," Jack quipped again, only to earn a sharp shoulder bump from Nina.

Evan hesitated for the moment before he sighed and nodded. "Alright... I'll wear the GrabPack."

Drew smiled approvingly and gestured to Mike to hand over the object to him. Even though Mike already considered volunteering to wear it himself, he obliged and gave the Grabpack to Evan.

Evan begin to slip the Grabpack on to his back as Drew and Mike helped him tighten the straps securely on his arms. Moments later, the two stepped back as the group observes Evan with the newly-found grabpack on him.

"You look good, Evan." Nina said with a thumbs up.

"I have to admit, I thought it would make him a little silly." Drew replied.

"It's not silly if it's practical," Jack added, glancing at the blue hand attachment before motioning to the others. "Now, come on. Let's open the main door."

The group head their way to the main entrance, leaving behind the boxes of toys they had collected from the gift shop. For a brief moment, Evan wondered if the toys they already had would be enough to sell for good money, but Drew had insisted earlier that this was just the tip of the iceberg - they needed to get more from inside. Knowing it was futile to argue, Evan quietly followed along.

Eventually, they stopped in front of the sealed door, staring at the blue hand scanner lock. All they had to do now was use the GrabPack to unlock it.

"Alright, Evan. You may do the honors." Drew said.

Evan glanced at the blue hand cannon on the GrabPack. "Here goes nothing..." he muttered before aiming it at the scanner. With a pull of the trigger, the hand shot out and stuck to the scanner. The group watched as the scanner processed the hand.

After a moment, the door began to open.

As the door opened, they were met with a giant, statue-like toy in the middle of the room. Evan immediately recognized the figure in front of him - and he wasn't the only one. Despite never having set foot in the factory before, his friends recognized the toy as well, given its popularity as a marketable toy.

It was Huggy Wuggy.

The group stepped into the main lobby, the room illuminated by the moonlight streaming through the windows, and approached the Huggy Wuggy statue. The towering bright blue furred figure stood on his podium beneath a large Playtime Co. sign, with a wide smile plastered on its face. One of Huggy's arms was raised in a waving posture, as if welcoming anyone who entered the factory - including Evan and his friends.

"Didn't expect to see Huggy Wuggy as a tall statue. He looks pretty cool." Drew commented.

"I don't get why they built a statue of him right in the middle of the lobby, though." Jack remarked.

"Well, his design does have a friendly, welcoming vibe." Mike pointed out. "Makes sense they'd put him here - like a sneak peek for the kids of what the factory has in store for their visit."

Nina turned to Evan and asks, "What did you think of him when you first saw him, Evan?"

"He seemed friendly enough..." Evan replied. Even though he had never seen him around the factory other than in the main lobby where his mother usually took him for activities, he had always given off a harmless, approachable aura, especially towards the kids.

Drew then walked over to a board infront of the statue that provided a brief description about Huggy Wuggy, which reads:

Huggy Wuggy (1984)

Playtime Co. has designed hundreds of distinct toys, but none connected with people more than that of Huggy Wuggy. Our founder; Elliot Ludwig, aimed to create a toy which could hug you forever! As is always true , Playtime Co.'s '4-step process to creating the most lifelike toys ,' was a success!

"1980s. He's older than I thought it would be." Drew said before turning to another description on the board that reads;

With a bit of string and polyester, our lovable, blue pal Huggy was brought to life! Huggy Wuggy has gone on to be Playtime co.'s most popular and best selling toy so far!

"They weren't wrong. I've seen a few kids playing with their Huggy toys before," Jack said. "But the whole 'hug you forever' thing really rubs me the wrong way."

Nina then noticed a red button on the board. "Hey, what does that do?" she asked, pointing at it.

Drew glanced at the button with a curious expression and immediatly pressed it. Suddenly, a loud noise blared from the speakers, startling the group.

The noise quickly shifted into a cheerful theme song for Huggy Wuggy:

"His name is "Huggy", "Huggy Wuggy"!"

"When he hugs you, he'll never stop!"

The song was followed by an echoing laughter, most likely from Huggy Wuggy.

"Your friend Huggy, Huggy Wuggy!"

"He'll squeeze you until you pop!"

The theme song ended with a pop sound, leaving the group in silence for a few moments.

"Okay, that was... something," Evan said, breaking the silence.

"I honestly didn't expect that to happen," Drew replied.

"At least the song was kinda catchy," Mike remarked

"Well, we're not here to listen to kiddy songs," Nina said before pointing at the boxes of Huggy toys near the statue. "Looks like they were kind enough to leave these out in the open."

"That's a few more bucks right there," Jack added.

"And look, there's another locked door we can open." Mike pointed at a door with a blue hand scanner.

"Alright, but let's clear this area first," Drew instructed, grabbing two Huggy boxes and carrying them back to the main entrance. "Search the lobby for any other toys and such."

As the group spread out on the main lobby, Evan was still infront of the Huggy statue, gazing at his waving hand. Glancing at his blue hand cannon, Evan aimed it towards Huggy's hand before firing it, giving the Huggy statue a welcoming high five.

Evan smiled for a moment, "Hey, Huggy. Look who's back?"

"Dude, what are you doing?"

Evan turned to his left to see Jack approaching him, his brow raised as he eyed the blue hand still attached to Huggy's palm.

"Just giving him a high five..." Evan said, retracting the hand back to the GrabPack.

Jack snorted. "Yeah, I can see that." He glanced at the Huggy statue again before a mischievous smirk formed on his face. "Hey, let me borrow the cannon for a second."

"Why?" Evan asked, confused.

"Trust me." Jack insisted.

Evan reluctantly lend him the cannon. After that, Jack begin to aim it on to Huggy's face. When Jack fired the cannon, he and Evan watched as the blue hand smacked squarely between Huggy's wide eyes and red lips.

"Try hugging that." Jack said, letting out a laugh.

Evan let out a frown, not pleased about it, as he snatched the cannon back and retracting the hand from Huggy's face. "That was kind of rude, you know?"

"It's just a statue, man." Jack dismissed with a shrug. "Now come on, we've got work to do."

Evan sighed and shook his head before walking away from the Huggy statue. Unbeknowst to him and the others, the Huggy statue's eyes begin to dart towards them, especially when it was eyeing at Jack with malicious intent after what he did.

Meanwhile, Nina picked up another Huggy toy box and begin to inspect the toy inside. However, as soon as she got a closer look, she froze. The Huggy toy inside wore a sinister, evil grin instead of the friendly smile she was expecting.

"Okayyy, definitely not worth selling," she muttered, tossing the box aside like it was cursed.

Mike, on the other hand, took his time surveying the main lobby. The walls were adorned with artwork featuring various characters, including Huggy. Several rooms were visible but inaccessible to them: a testing room, a cafeteria, a theater, a power room, an innovation room featuring an artwork of Poppy wearing a hardhat while holding a wrench, and an unnamed room that required two hand scanners to unlock. One blue, and one red.

"This place is...welcoming." Mike remarked before glancing back at the two scanners, "Let's just hope we find the red hand soon."

By the time Drew returned to the main lobby, the group had finished searching every corner and gathered all the toy boxes-except for the one with the sinister grin. Mike had also informed everyone about the door with two locks, explaining they'd need to find the red hand to open it.

Now, all that remained was unlocking the door with the blue hand scanner.

"Alright, let's keep going. Evan, do your thing." Drew instructed.

Evan gave him a reluctant nod. He raised the blue hand cannon and fired at the scanner. The hand latched onto the device, but the moment it made contact, the scanner malfunctioned. The lights then flickered and the power cut out until a visible spark trailed toward the door of the power room.

"The hell did you do, Evan?" Nina demanded.

"I-I didn't do anything!" Evan exclaimed, "It just shut off on its own."

Drew approached the power room door and tried to open it, but it wouldn't budge. He then grabbed his crowbar and attempted to pry it open, but after several tries, he stopped and sighed in frustration. "Door's locked tight. Can't even force it open."

"Great," Jack muttered, folding his arms. "Now what are we supposed to do?"

Before anyone could answer, a soft jingle echoed through the room. The group turned simultaneously toward the Huggy Wuggy statue where the sound came from. There, resting in its raised palm, was a yellow key.

"H-How did that get there?" Mike stammered, pointing at the yellow key.

"I... I don't know. Was that there before?" Drew asked, staring at the statue.

"No, he didn't have anything in his hand." Evan stated.

"So you're saying the key just magically appeared?" Nina asked skeptically.

"Well... maybe it's just a coincidence." Jack thought. "And hey, that key can be used for the power room."

"If you say so..." Drew turned to Evan. "Evan, get the key."

"A-Alright." Evan nervously stepped forward near the statue and fired the blue hand cannon. The hand latched onto the key, and he quickly retracted it, clutching the object tightly. After acquiring the key, he took a moment to glance suspiciously at Huggy Wuggy's lifeless smile before walking back to Drew.

"Here." Evan handed Drew the key.

"Thanks." Drew replied, taking it. He walked to the power room door and inserted the key into the lock. With a soft click, the door unlocked. The door leads them to a small hallway towards another door marked with a staff only sign. It must be where the power room is.

Drew then turned to the group. "Alright. Me, Evan, and Mike will go in and fix the power. Nina, Jack - you two stay here and keep watch."

"Actually... can't we just stick together this time?" Nina suggested.

"Why's that?" Drew asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Dude, I don't want to be anywhere near that statue after that key magically appeared in its hand." she admitted, her voice uneasy.

"I agree," Jack added with a nod. "I know the key thing it's probably just a coincidence, but that thing's giving me some seriously bad vibes."

Drew considered for a moment before nodding. "Alright then. Let's all go."

With that, the five of them stepped into the power room together.

After they entered the room, they begin to look around. There wasn't anything to observe since it is just a simple power room. However, something in the corner immediately caught Mike's attention..

It was a broken Bron toy, lying amidst a pool of blood splatter on the floor and wall. The scene almost looked like the toy had been violently "murdered."

"What the heck..." Mike muttered, unsettled by the disturbing sight, even if it was just a toy.

"There's another one?" Nina said, confused as she walked over to Mike, her gaze fixed on the broken Bron toy.

"What do you mean by that?" Mike asked, glancing at her.

"Back at the gift shop, there was a broken Boogie Bot toy on the counter, and there was blood under it." Nina explained, "It's like it was its own blood."

"That doesn't make sense... Toys don't bleed." Mike said, his voice tinged with disbelief. The two began to wonder where the blood could have come from.

Meanwhile, Drew, Evan, and Jack were searching for a way to activate the power. Jack paused in front of a poster pinned to the wall. The poster featured a mascot that resembled Huggy Wuggy but with pink fur.

"Pink Huggy Wuggy?" Jack said, raising a brow.

"That's Kissy Missy," Evan replied, walking past. "She was created a year after Huggy as his counterpart."

"I see. Must be his girlfriend or something." Jack snickered, turning back to the poster.

The poster contained a list of Do's and Don'ts aimed at the employees. The Do's included: Be kind to others, Show up on time, and Don't hide behind doors to scare Leith Pierre. The Don'ts were more ominous: Don't stay past 8 PM, Don't misuse company time, Don't tamper with machinery, and Don't enter 'Innovation' without authorization.

"Guess that's why Leith needs so much security in this factory." He remarked sarcastically at the last part of the Do list before moving on.

The group continued to search the room, looking for a way to activate the power for the scanner. So far, they had only found a collection of breakers with wires running along the ground and two energy coils.

Drew, Evan, and Jack followed the wires to see where they led. They reached the far end of the room and turned right, finding themselves in front of a closed power outlet. However, their attention was quickly drawn to something else.

At the end of the wall, they saw another broken Boogie Bot lying in a pool of blood. But what was more unsettling were the large streaks and splatters of blood covered the corner of the wall, staining about a quarter of its surface.

"What in the goddamn..." Drew muttered, his voice trailing off.

"Did you three find anything?" Mike called out as he and Nina caught up to them, only to stop abruptly when they noticed the blood-spattered wall.

"We found a power outlet," Evan replied, gesturing toward the outlet, then he pointed to the wall. "But we also found that."

"Jesus, this looks like a bloodbath." Jack said, his tone more shocked than sarcastic for once.

Mike decided to take a closer look. He cautiously approached the bloodied wall, with Evan following a few steps behind him. He picked up the broken Boogie bot toy, feeling the blood on the object. While the blood on the toy seemed somewhat fresh, the blood on the wall appeared older and much drier.

"The blood on the wall is different," Mike observed as he walked back to the group. "It's much drier than this."

"Where the hell did all this blood come from?" Nina exclaimed. "Finding bloodied toys is one thing, but this... this is way too much to be considered normal."

"Maybe it's just another scare tactic?" Jack suggested, though his tone was uncertain. "If this is part of their security measures, then they're doing a good job at it."

Drew interjected, "Guys, while I'm just as confused about the blood on the wall as you all are, we're here to find a way to turn on the power for the door. Let's focus on that for now and talk about this later."

"Alright. I think I've already figured out how." Mike said.

As Mike began explaining, Evan turned his attention to the wall again. He then spotted something that was almost invisible to the naked eye. Upon closer inspection, he realized it was a drawing of a giant skeletal-like hand, accompanied by the word "Wonderful" scrawled beneath it.

Evan stared at the eerie fain drawing with a uneasy expression. Whatever this hand was supposed to represent, it looked terrifying.

"We just need to open that power core over there." Mike pointed to the sealed power core.

"I'll handle it." Jack said, stepping forward. He approached the power core and used his crowbar to pry the door open. With a bit of force, he managed to open it - though he accidentally ripped the door off entirely in the process.

"Alright, so you're saying the GrabPack can transfer power from the core?" Drew asked Mike.

Mike nodded. "Yeah, the wires on the GrabPack can transmit the power. Based on the tutorial video, we need to run the wires and connect them to those power coils."

"Sounds simple enough." Drew replied, nodding in understanding. He then turned to Evan, who was still staring at the wall. "Evan, help us out with this, will you?"

Evan gave a small nod and joined the others. Following Mike's instructions, he aimed the blue hand of the GrabPack at the power core and fired. The hand latched onto the core, and the wires on the GrabPack began to emit a glowing blue light.

"Whoa, cool." Nina remarked.

"Okay, so what do I do now?" Evan asked, looking at Mike.

"Follow me, but don't let go of the blue hand from the power core." Mike said.

Evan followed as Mike guided him to one of the power coils in the room. Mike instructed him to attach the powered wire to the coil. When Evan connected the wire, the power coil lit up.

"Good. Now for the second one." Mike said, leading Evan to the other power coil, which was positioned near the entrance. Thankfully, the GrabPack's wires were long enough to reach it.

Evan carefully attached the wire to the second power coil, and moments later, the remaining lights in the room flickered on. A hum of electricity signaled that the scanner outside had also been activated.

"You did it." Mike said with a smile towards Evan.

"Thanks." Evan smiled in return before retracting the hand back from the core to the Grabpack.

Drew, Jack, and Nina caught up to them to the main entrance, the former then giving them a nod of approval, "Well done, you two. Now let's get to that door."

When they're about to leave the power room, Evan took a moment to look back from the room regarding the drawing of the skeletal hand on the wall with the dried blood. He couldn't shake the unsettling feeling it gave him. Why was that drawing even there? Was it something the workers had done to mess around? And if so, why choose something so sinister?

He quickly shook the thought from his mind and hurried to join the others.

Drew opened the door, leading them out of the power room and back into the main lobby. However, as they stepped out, they immediately froze in place.

When Evan caught up to them, he was confused as to why they had stopped. But when he looked ahead - his eyes widen in shock.

Huggy Wuggy was gone.

===============

I never thought writing the main entrance part all the way to the power room can take up a lot of words, but I did my best.

Also, the chapter 4 cinematic trailer was amazing, especially with the reveal of the main villain - Harley Sawyer.

I already have some interesting ideas in mind regarding him with Evan :)
