Prolouge
Joel sat on the couch, staring at the picture of his younger sister, Hope, who had gone missing a week ago. The police still had no idea who has taken her or where they were. He, his wife Moriah, his brother Luke, and his sister-in-law Courtney had come home to find the front door wide open, Hope's room trashed, and her cell phone under her dresser. Moriah and Courtney has asked a couple of the neighbors what they had seen, and they found out that a white van had pulled up to the house, three men had gotten out, gone inside, and came back out carrying something in a huge bag. It was guessed by an officer that the bag that they had been carrying was what they hid Hope in. Luke came in, carrying a mug of coffee.
"Still staring at the same picture of her, huh?" He sat down on the couch next to his brother.
"We'll find her, God willing. He knows who has her and why they did this." Joel nodded ardently, looking at his brother. He looked exhausted, with circles under his eyes that were larger and darker than he'd ever seen before. He also knew that Luke never drank coffee, no matter how tired he was.
"We'll find her." He echoed. Somehow, that sounded too unsure to him. The thing that he wondered about most was how and when they'd find her. And that scared him more than anything.
