ayy im back agaaaaiinnn
As Peridot sobbed, she heard Purple Tourmaline's voice, "P-Peridot..."
She gasped and looked down at her friend, who was smiling. "Tourmaline... Y-You're awake... I--"
"Yo-u ca-nt-t giv-v-ve up like th-this-s! Yo-yo-you're one of-f the smar-smartes-est an-d str-stronges-t gems I kno-know... You-you ca-n d-d-do it-t!" (Lmao in case you cant understand that make sure someone puts it in the comments or something lol)
Peridot nodded slowly and looked around, trying to find a solution the problem. As she searched, the moss started to cover her body. Soon, her whole body would be covered in moss, but she kept searching.
The moss finally made it all the way up her body and looked back down at her friend.
"I-I'm sorry..." She continued sobbing as she was consumed by the moss.
. . . Note: From this point on, this will all be based on the idea _Lapidot_Bumblebee_ gave me when I had no ideas. Thank you for that, btw~
Steven saw this and felt extremely guilty. Peridot felt like she couldn't do anything, which broke his heart.
He hung his head, thinking all hope was lost. No, he knew all hope was lost. If Peridot just believed she could do something, she could've helped. She wouldn't feel like a burden anymore!
He sighed and closed his eyes, ready to lose.
But for some reason, he felt something else other than sadness. He felt something like anger. Determination. (Not a reference)
He felt like he should've done something. Suddenly, his gem started glowing with energy. He's felt this sort of thing before, when he was fighting Lapis' water clones, but not as strong as this.
His gem kept glowing brighter and brighter until he smiled and grabbed a shield out of his gem. But it looked different; it had tiny blades on it... COOOOOOL!!!!! Steven thought. He used to shield to cut through vines, both his and Pearl's.
Pearl dropped on her knees and gasped for air. "Pearl!" Steven yelled as he ran to her.
"Steven! Don't worry, I'm fine--"
"Stay here, I'm gonna go free the others!"
"Steven!"
Steven had already run off to free Amethyst. He glided the shield across the moss, making it disappear, freeing Amethyst.
Amethyst groaned and coughed up some moss, falling on her back. "That was the worst..." She continued coughing while Steven went to save Garnet.
After freeing her, Steven ran to see if Garnet was ok. "Garnet! Are you--"
"Steven! This is your chance to show us what you're capable of!"
"But--"
"Ssh," Garnet shushed him, "It's for the readers. Now go!"
"O-kay...? Lemme just go get Peridot!" He started running towards her, until Garnet stopped him, "Steven, you can get to her later! Right now..." She growled as the black substance started working it's way up her leg. "...Right now you need to unclog the chamber and let Rose's tears flow!"
Steven seemed to want to disagree with her, but he sighed and nodded, making his way towards the clogged chamber. Once he reached the chamber, he pulled out his shield. But it didn't have the blades.
"WhaaaAAAAT?! NO NO WAIT," Steven yelled as he kept summoning his shield, hoping for it to work.
"Oh geez!" He said as the moss was getting closer to him. He pleaded, "PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!"
He closed his eyes, summoned his shield again, and the blades were there again. "Hurry!" He ran through the moss and brought his shield down, hoping to cut the moss. But his shield just got stuck, the blades disappearing yet again.
Steven groaned and pleaded again, this time actually cutting the moss. He ran out victoriously, half of his body still covered in moss.
"I DID IT! I DID IT!!!"
He sliced the moss off of himself. There was a rumbling sound, and soon enough healing tears came gushing out of the fountain. Pink rose's bloomed, and flew across the sky.
"Oh!! Purple Tourmaline!!!"
He cut Peridot and her friend out of the moss. Peridot wheezed and gave Purple Tourmaline to Steven, doubling over.
"I never want to do that again..."
"Same here..." Amethyst replied, still coughing.
As Peridot stayed in that position, Steven quickly carried Purple Tourmaline over to the fountain, slowly setting her inside.
Her gem glew. The cracks were starting to heal, and her physical form started going back to normal. She opened her eyes slowly and groaned. She sat up, and a rose gracefully glided down, landing on her head.
Peridot heard her best friend's laughter, and gasped. She turned around to see Purple Tourmaline laughing and playing with the flowers in the fountain.
Peridot's eyes filled with tears as she ran to the fountain and hugged her friend tightly, crying.
"TOURMALINE!"
"Peri! I'm fine, it's ok! You don't have to worry about me."
"You could've died, Tourmaline! You could've died! I didn't want to lose my only friend!"
Tourmaline chuckled, "Niether did I..."
Tourmaline hugged Peridot back, and the earned a few 'aws' from the Crystal Gems. "Don't ever go somewhere by yourself again, Tourmaline!"
"Hey, it's not my fault! I dunno how to work that thing!"
"Niether do I!"
Purple Tourmaline laughed. Peridot chuckled slightly before sighing, and setting her arms down her lap. "Just try to stay safe, ok?"
"Hmph, a few chapters ago you didn't care for me much."
"What?"
"Nothing. I promise, Peri. Only if you promise to stay safe, too."
"Ok. I promise."
Steven hugged both Peridot and Purple Tourmaline and laughed, "You guys are such best friends!!!"
"O-kaaay," Pearl clapped, "We best get going! She's healed and feeling well and we're done here so let's go!!"
"Yeah," Amethyst finally spoke with a hoarse voice, "We don't want Pearl to get all emotional and cry her eyes out!"
"Amethyst, stop it!" Pearl squawked.
Amethyst laughed weakly and sat up, extending her arms. "Garnet, can I go uppy?"
Garnet sighed and picked up Amethyst. "Let's go."
"But Peri and Tourmaline aren't done crying yet!!!!!!" Steven whined.
"No, no, Steven. We're done." Peridot chuckled nervously.
