The blue light on the Warp Pad died down, revealing the Crystal Gems, Peridot, and a cracked Tourmaline. They ran as fast as they could, Peridot trailing far behind them, holding her best friend in her arms.

As she ran, she whispered to Tourmaline, "Come on... You can do it... We're gonna make it...!" As she said these things, she filled herself with doubt, more tears threatening to spill from her eyes.

Once the Crystal Gems got to the fountain, Amethyst yelled, "No!"

Peridot caught up and pushed through the four gems, gasping at the sight of the fountain.

It was covered with vines, moss, and a black sticky substance. No healing tears were spilling from the fountain, which deeply concerned the gems.

Peridot finally lets tears slide down her face, hugging her friend tightly.

Pearl laughs nervously, "So, there must a clogged chamber, right, Garnet? Right?!"

She looks up at the fusion, linking arms with her. Garnet responds with a thoughtful hum.

"Please tell me it's just a clogged chamber! Please, please, please!" Peridot screams, desperately.

Garnet still didn't respond. Steven ran to Peridot and hugged her. "Don't worry, Peridot! We'll fix her! I promise..." He said, reassuringly.

Just then, a vine sneaked up Steven's leg and pulled him away, holding him in midair.

Pearl ran to Steven and successfully cut the vine, dropping Steven to the ground. "Go! I'll handle these vines, go unclog the chamber!"

The gems nodded and ran into the chamber. When they arrived, they saw that the chamber was indeed clogged. But it was clogged by Rose's moss. As the moss spread, Amethyst summoned her whip.

"Alright, let's shred this moss!" She yelled as she ran toward it. But as she got closer, the moss spread faster. Her lower body was soon covered in moss, and she screeched.

"Okay, oKAY LET'S GET OUTTA HERE!"

The gems ran back to the fountain, only to find Pearl strangled up in the vines. "G-Garnet! Help!"

Garnet nodded and ran toward Pearl, summoning her gauntlets. She was suddenly struck by the black substance, holding her against the wall. She squirmed and grunted, struggling to get out of the sticky trap.

Steven and Peridot gasped. Steven looked behind him and called, "Amethyst!" But she was already covered completely by the moss.

Steven breathed heavily, until regaining his composure. "It's ok! It's fine! You still have me, right? We can still fix this!" Vines started darting toward him. He summoned his shield and blocked them best he could, until he was picked by the arm and once again held in midair.

Peridot screamed, "No! NO!" She started sobbing. All she wanted was for her friend to be safe. Now Peridot's only chance of helping her survive was ripped away from her as her friends were helplessly trapped.

Her heart shattered in two. She managed to choke out through tears, "I'm sorry... I couldn't save you... I couldn't help my friends... I can't do anything..."

She held her friend close as the moss closed in around them.
