When Peridot woke up, there were a few blurry figures standing above her. She felt small; her arms and legs didn't feel heavy like they always did. Her vision cleared and she could see the Crystal Gems looking down at her.
"NYAH!" She shot up, looking at her arms and legs, expecting to see her limb enhancers.
But, of course, they weren't there. She looked around for Purple Tourmaline, and found her on the side if the couch, looking down at her with a worried expression.
She straightened up and went to grab her green friend, "ARE YOU ALL RIGHT? IM SORRY I COULDN'T GET YOU INSIDE IN TIME! DON'T BE MAD AT ME I JUST-"
"Now, now," Pearl started, "Calm down. She's fine. We just took her enhancements off. They were malfunctioning, and if we left them on her she would be dead by now!"
Steven tilted his head, in confusion, "I thought gems couldn't die...?"
Pearl groaned, "There are some exceptions, Steven..."
Peridot wasn't understanding this completely, how could she have died? How long was she out?!?
"Wait, wait, wait..." Peridot looked up at Pearl, "How long was I-"
"You were out for 6 hours."
Yeesh. That rain really did a number on her, huh?
Amethyst snickered, "Yeah. It was really awkward, waiting here, for you to get up... But it was funny, too!"
Pearl growled, and then sighed, "Well the important thing is-"
"No." Garnet stood up, towering over Purple Tourmaline, "Why did you let her out of the house? She was supposed to stay in here."
Tourmaline's eyes widened. She stepped back, looking to Peridot, who had the same terrified expression.
"So? Anything you have to say?"
"U-um... No... I, um, just wanted her to see what it's like out in the city! I didn't mean for this to happen! I-I'm sorry!" Tourmaline stepped backwards until she fell back, onto the warp pad.
Pearl gasped, "Uh-oh! Wait, wait!"
Tourmaline tried to get back onto her feet, but kept slipping on the shiny surface of the warp pad.
"Crap, crap, crap, CRAP--"
The warp pad activated, sending Tourmaline to, most likely, the WORST place possible.
Peridot sat, eyes widened and jaw dropped. Steven had his hand over his mouth with a concerned look on his innocent face.
The gems just stood there, staring at the warp pad.
"Welp," Garnet spoke, shifting her visor, "It's a good thing we made it home early."
