(Third Person POV)

Up in the beach house, Pearl, Garnet, Steven, and Amethyst were relaxing by the fireplace. It was cold outside, there were no missions to be done, so they decided to stay in.

Garnet, of course, was still checking for future missions on this day. She couldn't find anything, so far. But then...

"Urgh..." Garnet gave a frustrated growl. "Gems, we have a mission."

The Gems stood up and made their way to the warp pad.

"Ooh," Steven crawled up excitedly, "Can I co-"

"No." Garnet gave an immediate answer. Steven groaned and sat back down.

Pearl walked down from the warp pad, "We'll be back before you know it, Steven." She gave him a gentle pat on the head and walked back onto the pad. "Bye, Steven!"

And with that, they warped away to God knows where.

Steven went up the stairs to his "bedroom" and laid down on his bed. He covered himself in comfy blankets and stared at the ceiling.

As he started to doze off, he started hearing noises. "bang!" "bam!"

He assumed it was just his mind, and closed his eyes. But then he heard them again, "bam!" "wam!"

He started to get freaked out and ran down stairs to investigate. He looked around, but he saw nothing. He didn't want to go outside, because there was a storm. So he called out, "Hello? Is anyone in here?"

No response.

"Garnet? Amethyst? Pearl?"

No response. Just more noises.

"IM SCARED! WHO'S THERE?! I'LL ATTACK!" he screamed as he picked up a mop, that was apparently the nearest "weapon" in the room.

He looked through the darkness, but saw nothing. Suddenly, a voice called out, "I'm here..."

"WAH!!!" Steven fell back against the kitchen counter, mop in hand.

"Who are you? Who are those gems you mentioned?"

Steven stood up slowly, "My... My name is... St-Steven..."

"Are you human?"

"Uh... I guess?"

"Well... I'm sorry for scaring you."

Steven noticed that this voice was being sincere, and crawled back up the stairs to his bed. He tucked himself back in, "That's okay... You seem nice."

He was hoping the voice would answer back, but there was no answer.

"Hmm..."

He looked around and saw a shadow hanging upside down next to his bed.

"AAAAH!" Steven took a flashlight from under his bed and faced it toward the figure. He turned on the flashlight, and a purple figure could be seen. It had long, lavender hair, and light purple nightgown.

The purple figure came down from the ceiling, and lifted up a hand, which seemed to have a gem on it, in greeting.

"Hi!"
