Hermione's POV

After the encounter with Draco, I head to my room in a daze and find myself looking in the mirror. 'A slytherin' I think as I look at myself in the mirror. This outfit is really cute, but I feel like Mrs. Weasley would have a fit. I change in to a simple Green top and take off my lipstick. A final check in the mirror and I'm out the door to Professor McGonagall's office. "Cedric Diggory." I say as I reach the Gargoyles and a stairway appears. I walk up the stairs and knock on the office door. "Please come in, Miss Granger." I walk in to find that everyone else is already there. "For only a couple more minutes, you will be able to apparate out of the castle. Be sure to be back by 4 p.m. or you will all be stuck walking back to the castle" We all nod and then apparate to the burrow.

"Hermione!" Mrs. Weasley says as she pulls me in to a tight hug. "Hello, Mrs. Weasley." I say with a smile. "Molly, dear." She says as I nod, knowing it would be too hard to call her anything but Mrs. Weasley. I join everyone else in the living room as we exchange gifts.

*Tap Tap* We all look at the window to see a black owl. Ginny opens up the window and lets the owl in. The owl drops a smaller sized package and quickly heads off again. After reading the tag, Ginny looks at me and says, "Hermione, there's one last gift here for you." She walks over and hands it to me. I look down at it. Gold, red and silver wrapping paper with my name written neatly on the top. Since everyone already finished opening up their presents, they're all looking at me. I unwrap it to find a silver box and when I open it, I find a necklace with a plain silver circle on it. I flip over the necklace over to see an inscription.

Life is too short to be following the rules. Follow your dreams instead.

Under the necklace I find a note.

Dear Hermione,

Im sorry for being such a git these past couple days, but I'm protecting you. When you out this necklace on, it will show you who you are by the shape of an animal. If a color shows up, it will show you how you're feeling. If it ever goes back to just a plain circle, I know that you've stopped loving me.

P.s. The colors are, Yellow- nervous, Blue- Calm/relax/normal, Gray- sad, Pink- embarrassed, Purple- Happy, Green- Jealous/mixed emotion and Red- Fear/angry. The animals should be easy enough to figure out. There is a snake, lion, eagle and badger.

The bloody git! He thinks that after all he's done for me, a gift will solve it? I think not. I look down at the necklace and sigh. Well, it is a beautiful necklace and it doesn't matter if Malfoy gave it to me. I put it on and it turns in to a green snake. The green matches my outfit I think to myself. "Oh my god. Hermione, that's so pretty!" Ginny says when she sees it. I thank her and look at the time, 3:55 p.m. "Ginny! We have to go!" I say. She looks at the time and he eyes widen. "Harry! Ron!" She yells. The boys come running downstairs, their wands raised. "Time." She says. They nod and we say our goodbyes. "Hermione, Dear." Mrs. Weasley calls me over. "Follow your heart and don't ever change. If anyone gives you trouble and you can't run, fight back." She says sternly to me. I nod and apparate back to the castle. "Right on time, Ms. Granger." Professor McGonagall says with a smile. I nod and walk out of her office.

Draco's POV

I walk back to the common room and sit down in front of the fire. I sit there for a couple of minutes just thinking until I hear a pop. I look around and see a house elf with presents in her arms. "Mr. Malfoy, these are for you." I nod and say thank you, she then disappears to wherever. I open up my present until I get to the last one. It's wrapped in green, silver and gold wrapping paper. I unwrap it and find 3 things. One, a small green box. Two, an advanced potion book. And three, a photo book. I open up the photo book and see pictures of Hermione and I. I smile as I look through them. At the end of the book it says,

I open at the close.

The same thing that Dumbledore had put on Harry's snitch. I sigh and decide to open up the green box. When I do, I see a Slytherin ring. On the side, there's a button. I press it and then a lion appears with the snake. They play together and all of a sudden a holographic image appears. It show pictures of Hermione and me. I smile. The pictures then disappear and in their place is present time Hermione. She's with the Weasley's opening up presents. I see her open up mine and I smile. I then repress the button and it goes back to just a serpent. I look at the note at the bottom of the box.

Dear Draco,

Being like I normally am, I made sure to give this to Daisy (The house elf) a week before Christmas. As I'm sure you already figured out, the ring shows you where I am whenever you press the button. I figured that you would want to make sure I'm safe incase anything ever happens to me. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

I smile and walk to my room. I plop down on the bed and fall asleep.

Hermione's POV

"The Dark Lord shall return and you will be the sacrifice!" A voice says. I look around and shrug it off. I must be tired. I keep walking to the common room and I keep hearing the voice. When I reach Professor Snapes portrait, it gets so loud its unbearable. I slump to the floor with a scream and black out.

Draco's POV

I wake up to a scream right outside our common room. I rush to the door and open it. "Hermione!" I say. I pick her up and run to the hospital wing. I slam open the door and lay her on a bed. "Mr. Malfoy, what happened?" Madame Pomfrey says worried. "She scream and then she passed out, that's all I know." I reply. Madame Pomfrey nods and starts giving Hermione potions. I grab a chair and am about to sit down next to her when Madame Pomfrey says, "Oh no, Mr. Malfoy. Thank you for bringing her here but you should be leaving." I shake my head and sit down, ignoring her. She narrows her eyes at me but doesn't say anything. I hold on to Hermione's hand the rest of the day, willing her to be strong and wake up.
