I skipped through the halls toward the dinning room. I was to be sorted in less than an hour and I wanted to speak with some of the teachers, preferably Professor Snape, before then.

"A doo doo doo a da da da..." I lightly sung under my breath

"What type of melody is that Miss. Alice?" Snape asked, his voice echoing in the large hall

I turned and stopped walking, waiting for him to catch up, "It's a song by Sting and The Police. It's a great song."

"It's interesting. If you like Muggle music." He stopped where I stood, "On your way to the sorting ceremony?"

I nodded, "Professor Snape, why is everyone against Muggles here?"

"Well they don't hold the same blood, stature, they're ignorant, arrogant, and they don't have the ability to learn magic without killing someone in the process."

"So then all those things would apply to me and my parents. Thank you for the insults." I started to strut away

"Miss. Alice. Stop." Snape went after me, "I said stop."

I flicked out wand, "I suggest you let me proceed with my day and go to the dinning hall. Now good day Mr. Snape." He stopped and I turned on my heel and kept walking

Rounding the corner, I smacked right into Neville, "Watch where you're going you twit!" I yelled and brushed past him annoyed

I completely avoided the dining hall and walked right past it, not wanting to deal with crowds or idiots.

I was about to hide out in one of the various window nooks, when Malfoy showed up, "What do you want Slytherin?" I spat at him turning away

I could tell in his voice that he was hurt, "Aren't you coming to get sorted into?"

"No."

"Why not?"

"Because of all of you twits."

"Alice, I'm sorry for whatever I did but you need to come due what you came here for. To be the best wizard this school has ever seen, the best Muggle one, the absolute best." Malfoy wrapped me in a hug and swayed back and forth a little

I didn't pull away.

"You ready to go now?"

I shook my head, "No."

"Okay take a few more minutes."
