Frisk

Frisk stood in front of Sans, sadness reflecting in her eyes. There was so much she wanted to tell him, but the demon inside her refused to let her speak.

Sans spoke. "Birds are singing, flowers are blooming. But on days like this, kids like you... should be burning in Hell."

Frisk winced, though she knew it was true. In her mind, she started telling Sans everything she felt, even if it wouldn't come out of her mouth.

'I didn't know what I got into
Somehow I can't go back even if I really wanted to.'

Frisk wished she could go back with all her heart and soul, but the demon inside wouldn't let her.

'So what more can I do?
Here, in the end, it's just me and you.'

Frisk knew that this was the end. If she died, she would not let the demon take over like they did the last several times and make her go back and fight Sans, time and time again. She knew Sans remembered each time she died, because the pain showed in his eyes everytime. Oh, how she wished she could relieve that pain.

'I never wanted to play by all the rules
A knife in hand, I'm playing out the part of the fools
Here we go, you can judge me thoroughly
It's too late for apologies.'

Frisk wanted to do something different than what they expected. When the demon, Chara, approached her, saying that they could help Frisk do something different, Frisk didn't hesitate to help her do something different. And that is when it all began. She knew she was a fool from the first time the demon made her kill a monster. She didn't want to harm them, and now... here she was, about the try and kill the monster she fell in love with yet again. It was way too late for an apology. Both she and Sans knew that. And Frisk was willing to let Sans kill her for that. All she had to do was take over her own body from the demon that currently resided in her.

'Go ahead and just hit me since you're able
We know my determination is unstable
I'm not even mad because I keep on dying
But I don't even know why I'm trying.
This isn't what I want, yet it's what I asked for
Curiosity over all my morals
I took away our perfect, happy ending
Resetting the world despite the warnings
Right now I'm made of LOVE...'

Frisk knew that resetting the world could ruin everything. And yet... she was curious. She wanted to know everything. But now... she regrets that decision. She regrets taking away the love Sans had for her, and she regrets having to get to know all the monsters all over again. She'll do it right next time. If there even is a next time.

'I know who you are, you remember who I am
We knew that once in a timeline, we had grown to be good friends
And yet I killed your brother without giving him a chance
Every time you throw me down, I hope you kill me once again.'

Frisk wanted to die so badly. After killing Papyrus, and hearing Sans' enraged and pained cry, her heart broke into a million pieces. That was when she actively started to fight against Chara. But it was no use. She had no power over the demon.

'So go ahead and hit me since you're able
All the sin that I can feel is unbearable
If I could only hit you once it would be over.
But the consequences last forever.'

Frisk didn't want Sans to die, and when Chara started actively aiming for Sans that is when she started fighting for control even harder than she ever had before. She knew that in the past times she had died, Chara had only been toying with her and Sans. But now that they were actively trying to kill Sans, Frisk could not let that happen since she loved Sans so much.

'The flowers are in bloom as the birds will tell
It's a beautiful day to be burning in hell
You gave me advice, I chose genocide
But I know how to make it right.'

Frisk finally gained control, and immediately SPARED Sans, who was shocked. She knew what would happen once she spared Sans, and patiently waited for it, all the while fighting back the demon inside her.

"You're sparing me?" Sans asked in shock as Frisk dropped the knife. "Finally..." he muttered. "Buddy... Pal..."

Frisk smiled softly, as Sans spoke.

"I know how hard it must have been to make that choice. To go back agaisnt everything you worked up for", Sans says slowly.

Frisk opened her mouth to speak. "Just kill me already, Sans", she said, tears filling her eyes. Sans' eyes widened slightly in shock. Frisk let out a quiet cry as Sans continued speaking.

"C'mere, Frisk", he says softly, opening his arms for a hug.

Frisk walked forward, knowing was going to happen. And she was right, when several bones shot up from the floor, and stabbed her in multiple places.

'I am made of LOVE...
But I'll give up for you.'

Frisk smiled weakly at the skull she had grown to love and gently closed her eyes, allowing the darkness to over take her.

When Frisk opened her eyes next, she found herself laying in a patch of golden flowers. Smiling at the familiarity, she got up and found Flowey, waiting for her.

"Hello, Flowey", she says softly, knowing he would remember her. Flowey glares at her.

"So, are you going to accept their help again this time, or are you actually going to stay a pacifist?" Flowey asks sarcastically. Frisk winces.

"I refuse to allow them to take over my body again. I will not go through the pain of killing off all the monsters", Frisk said firmly. Flowey smiles at that.

"He's waiting for you in the forest", he says. "Hurry before he loses hope."

Frisk quickly goes through the puzzles, befriending any monsters she came across. Froggits, Whimsuns, Looxs, Vegetoids, and many more.

And then she comes across the dead tree in front of the familiar house. The homely feel it gave off was enough to make Frisk's eyes tear up. She sniffed and ran to the door, knocking loudly, most likely startling the motherly goat inside.

The door opened, and a shocked look came across the goat's face.

"Frisk", she whispers. Frisk winces, but speaks anyway.

"Hi, Mom", she whispers. "I'm sorry about earlier."

The goat instantly hugs Frisk, and Frisk doesn't hesitate to hug back.

"He told me you might arrive soon", Toriel whispered. "Come, he's waiting for you."

Frisk smiles, and takes Toriel's hand. Toriel leads her downstairs to the door that would lead Frisk to the love of her life. Frisk stared nervously at the door before speaking to Toriel quickly.

"What if he rejects me?" Frisk asks. "What if he hates me so much for what I did?"

Toriel chuckles softly. "Do not worry, my child. He will forgive you. He loves you, does he not?"

Toriel gave her one last quick hug, before opening the door for her.

"Go."

Frisk didn't need to be told twice to bolt through the door and through the long corridor that led to the snowy forest. She opened the door that kept her from Sans, and was instantly hit by a blast of cold air. Shivering, she pulled her jacket a bit closer to her body. She started walking towards the bridge that she could just barely see in the distance.

Frisk stepped over a branch and heard it snap behind her. She smiled softly, and turned to look, but saw nothing except for the snapped branch.

She continued walking, butterflies in her stomach flapping more and more rapidly. She could feel her stomach twisting and turning everytime she thought of the punny skeleton.

She stopped in front of the bridge and smiled when she heard the familiar voice.

"Human...", he said. "Don't you know how to greet a new pal? Turn around and shake my hand."

Frisk doesn't do anything, except speak quietly.

"I think you mean how to greet an old friend, Sans", she whispered, before turning to see a smiling face of her friend. Sans' eyes were filled with pain, and she knew she had caused that.

"Sans, I am so so sorry", Frisk exclaimed, trying to fight back tears. "I was an idiot for accepting their help. I didn't know what they meant when they said that they would help me do something different. However..." Frisk choked on her words, and just cried for a moment. "I know... oh, how I know, Sans, that I... I love you so much. And I hated every minute seeing you hurt. And I understand if you hate me for what I've done. I understand if you can't forgive. I understand if you don't want to see me ever again."

"Frisk..." Sans says quietly...

"I'm not done!" Frisk exclaims. "I know I was in the wrong. But in the end, when they were actively trying to kill you through me... I fought back. I fought to keep them from hurting you. I spared you. I knew what was coming, and I spared you because I wanted it to end. I wanted them to stop hurting you!"

"Frisk... come here", Sans says gently, and opens his arms. Frisk didn't hesitate to run to him, and cry into his chest. Her arms were pressed in between her chest and his, and he held her tightly as they sank to the snowy floor.

"I love you, Sans..." Frisk murmurs. "I love you so much."

Sans' smile grew even wider. "I love you, too, Frisk. Just promise me... you won't reset again..."

"I promise, Sans. I promise I won't reset."
