Epilogue

Chloe watched Lillie happily meeting each of her pokemon. She and Snowy were quite the pair, they were so polite and cheerful. It was quite funny to see how different Lillie was from Gladion.

"Wow, all of your pokemon look so strong!" the blond girl examined each and every one of them. "The coloring on that Braviary is so unique! And seeing an extinct pokemon like Tyrantrum is incredible! And this Lucario wears a Mega Stone! I've only ever read about Mega Evolution!"

Chloe laughed lightly. "Thanks for all the compliments, Lillie." She glanced at Snowy, who was nuzzling Ninetales. "And it looks like those two have just become the best of friends." Lillie looked at them, smiling brightly. "I hope we'll be good friends too."

"I know we will," Lillie told her. "This trip together will make us closer as friends and a family."

Chloe leaned back against the railing. "I really am glad your mom invited me along."

"Well, you mean a lot to my brother, which makes you an honorary family member." Lillie went to her side, the sea breeze blowing through their hair. "Honestly, I haven't seen Gladion smile so much since we were children. You make him really happy, I can tell."

The redhead blushed and smiled. "Really? And here we didn't get along at all when we first met." She noticed the curiosity in Lillie's green eyes, and giggled lightly. "You see, we started working together to stop the invading Nihilego, and both of us would've rather worked alone. But the more we talked, the more we understood and got to know each other. Turns out we have a lot more in common than we thought. And things just kinda...happened."

"Aww," the blond cooed, "that's so sweet. You two really are perfect together."

The sound of footsteps interrupted their conversation, and they turned their heads to see Gladion and Lusamine. They had both been discussing the plan going forward along with rooming. Lillie was already aware of the plan, so Lusamine wanted to fill in her son. Gladion also dangled a key between his fingers.

"Ladies," he greeted, going to Chloe with a smile. He pecked her cheek. "Chloe, we get to share a room. That all right with you?"

She giggled. "Of course that's all right. I've gotten too accustomed to your company to room by myself." She was about to kiss him, but stopped herself when she heard the soft giggles of the other two females. She cleared her throat and backed away, taking his hand instead. "Um, so, what would you like to do?"

Gladion chuckled. "Why don't we check out our room? We need to take our luggage anyway." The girl nodded in agreement. "Lillie, Mother, we'll catch up with you in a bit."

"Okay," the woman replied. "Take your time. There's no need to rush. We've all got plenty of time."

Chloe returned her pokemon, waved to the two, and left with Gladion. They gathered their luggage and searched for their room, finding it rather quickly. The boy unlocked the door and opened it, letting Chloe in first. The redhead was in awe of how nice their accommodations were, dropping her bags. The room was rather spacious, with a large bed made for two.

"Your mom really went overboard. Did you know she was going to book us a couple's room?"

Gladion surprised the girl by wrapping his arms around her, hugging her from behind. "Actually, I requested a room like this." He affectionately kissed her cheek.

Chloe giggled at his behavior. "Oh? It's rare for you to be so romantic. What's the occasion?"

"Does there have to be one?" The boy nuzzled the side of her head. "We're in for a long trip, and the ocean can be quite beautiful to see with someone special. I just want to enjoy every bit I can with you, especially when you look so radiant."

A mischevious smirk tugged at Chloe's lips. "I think I know what game your playing. You just used Flatter, didn't you?"

Gladion chuckled, tightening his hold on her. "And now I use Bind to trap you."

Chloe laughed lightly. "Then I use Scratch." She lightly raked her nails over his sleeved arms, causing him to release her. She turned to face him. "Followed by Baby-Doll Eyes." She batted her eyes cutely.

Gladion smirked. "That won't work on me anymore. I use Take Down." He playfully and gently tackled her and pushed her back onto the bed with him on top of her. "And now I use Tickle." He tickled her stomach and sides, causing her to laugh and squirm. After a few moments, he let up. "Give up?"

As soon as Chloe caught her breath, she smirked. "Nope. Time for Nuzzle!" She snatched the collar of his shirt and brought him down closer, rubbing her cheek against his. "And now you're paralyzed." She then rolled them over so she was on top of him. "Next is Draining Kiss." She captured his lips in a quick but soft kiss. "And now for my finishing Z-Move, Let's Snuggle Forever." She collapsed on top of him, nestling her face against his chest with a smile.

Gladion laughed a little. "It's super effective. You win this round, Chloe." He wrapped his arms around her, a joyful sigh escaping his lips.

The couple laid in silence for a bit, cuddling in one another's arms. Chloe rested her head against his chest, listening to the beat of his heart and breathing in his scent. She hummed softly in content. "You know, there's nowhere I'd rather be than right here with you."

With a smile, Gladion gently ran his fingers against her cheek and through her hair. "I agree. I really...love to hold you. I love every second spent with you. I..." He paused, blushing when he realized the words coming out of his mouth. "I...l-love you."

Chloe gasped, abruptly sitting up to meet his emerald gaze. Her face was nearly as red as his. "Y-you...you...love me?"

The boy's eyes darted back and forth nervously. "Well...I-I...yeah...at least, I think so..." He cleared his throat. "Sorry, it's kind of sudden...I don't mean to sound weird."

Chloe smiled, her gaze softening. "Gladion..." She brushed his bangs aside and caressed his cheek, locking eyes with him. "Don't apologize... As far as I know, I love you too."

Gladion stared at her, taken aback by her words. "You do?"

The redhead nodded. "Yes, of course I do." She rested her palm against his chest, right over his heart. "Gladion, whenever we're together, my entire chest feels warm and fuzzy, like my heart is begging for your attention. It's like that for you too, isn't it?"

Gladion smiled with pure joy, his hands running down her sides to wrap around her waist. "It is. Sometimes the feeling is so intense I can barely stand it. So...is this really what love is like?"

Chloe leaned down closer to him. "I guess so."

She then pressed her lips to his for a sweet, affectionate kiss. He didn't hesitate to return it either. Even when they broke apart, it only lasted a second before their lips met again. Their kisses steadily heated up, and they both experimented with their lips, tongues, and teeth. They'd occasionally give each other light nibbles to their lower lips, or sometimes their tongues would meet. It was all new for them, yet passionate.

Finally, Chloe pulled back, giggling softly. "We'd better stop before we do something we shouldn't."

Gladion chuckled. "For sure. That was incredible though, we should experiment like that more often."

The girl laughed lightly. "We can anytime." She pecked his cheek before getting off him, letting him sit up. "We do have a whole trip ahead of us."

"Just don't forget the point of this trip. We're going to find my father, remember?"

"I know," Chloe replied. "And in all seriousness, I'm glad to help you find your dad. With your mom and sister here too, I know we'll track him down."

"Thanks." The blond wrapped an arm around her. "Come on, let's catch up with Lillie and my mother."

With a nod, Chloe got up with him, smoothing out her dress. She was so happy to be there. Meeting Gladion was the best thing that happened to her. Because of him, she'd made it through a lot of pain from her past, and she'd moved forward and become a better person for it. Since he'd been there for her, it was her turn to be there for him. She had faith in their combined strength, and she knew they'd be able to find Gladion's father. It was just another mission---another adventure with the boy she'd fallen for. And even once they'd succeeded, there would only be new journeys to go on for Chloe and Gladion. For them, every day was just another adventure.

The End

I haven't written a Pokemon story like this in years, so I hope you all enjoyed! If it wasn't obvious, Gladion and Guzma are some of my favorite characters, and Sun and Moon has become my favorite generation so far. Anyway, thanks for reading!
