A rainy day+call pranks+chats
As I sat watching the rain pour quite hardly, my pup, Toffy, came up to me and sat beside me. "Hey Toffy, watching the rain?"
He wagged his tail as an answer.
"Mhm. Let me call Riley for a bit then" I said, dialing Riley's phone number. She took the call.
"Hey ya, wassup budd -"
"Rose Black here, call me back later, busy right now." I said, keeping in a laugh.
"Excuse m-"
Click.
I cut the call. Yes, I did exactly that.
I call pranked her.
A moment later, she called back and I accepted, chuckling.
"Haha hello Ril-"
"Riley Neds here, at school, will call later."
Shithead. You Dare Use My Own Spells Against Me, Potter? Actually, Riley. Potter had brains.
"Oh well, guess we both are gonna keep pranking each other. Just like 'the legend says Rose and Riley are still pranking each other to this day'."
Toffy tilted his head at me. Of course he didn't understand.
I didn't call back and prank again. Instead, I called her once and when it started ringing, I cut it.
I did the same again.
Again. Again. Again
Now when Riley checks her phone, it's gonna be a call bomb.
She wasn't online though, so when she checks, BOOM.
I clicked back and went to Instagram, at first to watch some reels. That's when I saw I had a message.
It's true, I hated the rain. Though I did watch it sometimes.
I liked the wind and winter season, but rain was a big NOPE. It was during the rain that most unfortunate things happened, like very bad floods, thunder storm that made everyone lock themselves inside their houses, and even things that were personal and not general, like Toffy getting hurt.
I didn't believe in superstitions or luck, but this always happened and rain was a bane to me. No one can change that, babe.
Nice? That's pretty weird of a response but it was also the first time someone ACCEPTED my hate for rain. Most people, including my relatives, said against it like rain was good, it brought luck etc.
It might be your opinion but I don't give shit about it, so why do you care about mine? From his later responses, he too actually seemed to dislike rain a bit, but not as much as I did.
Mm, ohh. Really?
There was nothing much of omg in that actually... If his reply was to the text before that, it would've made sense.
Not a long time, just 4 days. But since he talked to me everyday, it felt long.
That's when I remembered something from before.
'"Hello"
Ugh. Again.
I don't even know how to talk to him much either. He is just a stranger to me even if he has seen me anywhere.
"Hey" I replied hastily.'
I smiled. We really are friends now, aren't we?
I can't believe that I'm being this way now. At first, I wanted him to leave me alone and not talk to me again, after our first chat, since he was a stranger and wasn't much of the ideal person to chat with, because for me to chat with someone, they must know a lot of stuff about me.
But now, even just four days without talking to this 'Lol' guy made me feel bored and a little lonely, like I'd suddenly lost something in my life, though I obviously didn't.
My only friend who didn't know much about me, and my only online friend, and the only friend of mine whom I never voice/video called with or seen in real life, is Adam, and he will always have a good place in my heart for that.
The weirder thing is, I was in class when he sent his hi, and I opened Instagram chats hoping that it might be him, though I also had a little bad feeling that it may not be him. However, when it turned out to be him itself, I nearly jumped in joy and I started chatting with him, completely forgetting that I had a cup of tea in my hand.
I lost a precious cup of tea that day...
But whatever, a cup of tea isn't as important as meeting a friend again.
Oh damn, why am I still treating this situation as if I'm meeting him after four years? It's just freaking four DAYS!
Seems like he was still doing swimming though he hates doing it at school. And his practice was surely much more harder and longer than mine was, because I didn't actually do it for more than a year. I do know it well though. Not showing off🌚
So he attended swimming at both school and academy? Wow, just wow. I only took swimming courses at an academy, there were no pools at both my schools.
Ohh
Yeah
Mm
Ok
Ahh
K
Yup
World record, two awkward friends on Instagram have used all the 'nothing to say' slang in one day. This was seriously awkward, why can't at least he say something else, seeing I was an introvert? He might be too, but he was the one who first sent me a hi and said we were friends, officially.
So.. Yeah. And yet, I was the one to finally ask what he was doing though I've already asked it before.
Well, that was an abrupt ending again, with me replying ohk and nothing else. He liked the message, which was the sign of 'bye' in Instagram.
I shrugged and went back to WhatsApp to see that I've had a hundred missed calls from Riley, just like I did her.
This copycat!
