Gifts, Plot Development, and a Cliffhanger
[ Chapter 3 ]

Everyone loved the new pokémon.
What? It's hard not too.
Pepper could now be seen with her Yamper, Lupin, at her heels.
When Rhodey came over, his Pikipek, Cannon, could be seen sitting on his shoulder.
Nat's Garvantula, Widow, always curled up in the corner of whatever room Nat was in.
May's Clefairy, Lucky, was always hanging about the apartment, helping to do whatever she could.
And today two more people would be getting pokémon.
School was over and Peter, Ned, and MJ were sitting at the park nearby.
"Happy birthday Ned!" Peter hugged his best friend before pulling a small box from his bag. "This is for you."
"Thanks!" Ned tore off the ribbon wrapped around the box and slid off the lid to reveal a bracelet similar to the wrist band of a watch. There was a single red and grey bead embedded in it with space for five more.
Ned titled his head. "Uh, Pete?" Ned raised his gaze to make eye contact with his friend. "What is this?"
"Pull out this thing," Peter pointed to the bead, "and push the button."
Ned raised an eyebrow but did as he was told. When the bead grew into a pokéball, his eyes widened.
"No. Fucking. Way."
"Yes way. And," Peter pulled another bracelet from his bag, "one for MJ."
"Thanks, loser."
Ned opened the pokéball and in a flash of light a Rotom was in front of him.
MJ pulled out her pokéball to reveal a Ralts.
Peter rubbed the back of his neck. "I- uh- I wasn't sure what you'd like."
"I'm calling her Audrey Hepburn."
"Wait we get to name them?!"
Peter laughed. "Yeah. You can name them."
Ned sucked in a deep breath. "Yes!" He turned to the Rotom. "Now what to call you..."
"Debugger?" Peter suggested, "Code-Writer? Programmer? Rotom's able to inhabit devices so anything like that would work great."
"I like Debugger," Ned said, tilting his head and staring at the Rotom, "How about you?"
The Rotom made a strong buzzing noise.
Ned smiled. "I'll take that as a yes."
Peter clapped his hands. "Well, I gotta go to the Tower. Have a good day! Be nice to your pokémon!"
Peter threw his backpack on and waved goodbye, starting on his way towards where Happy planned to pick him up.

When Peter and Happy made it up to the penthouse, Peter let out Sylveon and Happy let out his Pyroar, King.
Peter and Sylveon headed over to Tony's lab and were greeted by his Riolu. Riolu let out a growl but let them in nonetheless.
"Hey Pete," Tony spun around in his chair to face the newcomers, "Kind of an odd question, but why didn't you give Sylveon a nickname?"
"Well, she was one of the first Pokémon I made. When I started I didn't think I'd make more than one of each species so I didn't give them names." He snorted. "I was wrong, obviously."
Tony squinted. "You have more than just those six? Why don't you carry all of them around?"
"There's more, yeah. And because thems the rules Mr.Stark."
"'Thems the rules'?"
"You can't have more than six pokémon in your party!" Peter exclaimed, "Come on! You watched the show, you should know this!"
"I didn't think you took the rules that seriously." Tony paused. "Did you make a PC for them too?"
"Yeah."
"Hm. Well," Tony turned back to his work, "Ree! Run and grab that thingamabob will you?"
Riolu rolled his eyes but ran and grabbed a wrench for Tony. Tony pulled a jar from the far side of his desk and grabbed a cookie from it before tossing said cookie to Riolu.
"You can't keep feeding Ree like that," Peter warned, "he'll get fat."
Ree let out an offended noise and Tony just laughed. "We'll cross that Bridge when we get to it."
"Right, anyway," Peter continued, "What are we doing today?"
"I had some ideas for a new bot."
"Hell yes." Peter slid into the chair beside Tony. "Lets do this thing."

The man held his stoic expression as he drummed his fingers on the table. "Do you think he'll do it?"
"He'll have to," said the person sitting across from him, " or he'll be dealing with me."
"And no one, not even Stark, wants to deal with Nick Fury."
