Sewers, Boulders, and Genetical Engineering

If you left a bowl of eggs out in the sun for the entirety of the Jurassic Period, it might smell as bad as the sewers Bruce Banner was running through now.

He wasn't really paying attention to the smell though. The sweat dripping down his face, the spot where he was turning green, and the giant boulder chasing him, Spider-man, and Tony Stark, all seemed far more important than the putrid smell.

"Hey, uh, guys?" Spider's voice echoed down the tunnel, "You know that game? The one with the monsters?"

"Not the time kid!" Tony shouted over the roar of the boulder.

"It's a serious question!" Spider made a motion that resembled a one-legged crab trying to juggle an octopus, "the game... the one with the balls?"

Bruce could feel his voice grow hoarse as he tired from running. "Pokémon?"

"THATS THE BITCH!" [[ This was the original chapter title lol ]]

"And why did you bring this up?" Tony yelled.

"Well, a while ago some scientists tried to genetically engineer pokémon," Spider panted, starting to fiddle with his webshooters, "They failed, but I didn't. I-"

"GET TO THE POINT!" Tony yelled, jerking his thumb towards the boulder.

"I have a pokémon that could help us out here!"

"Then have it HELP!"

Spider finished fiddling with the webshooters and pulled out a small bead. With a click, it grew into a large red and grey ball. Pressing the white button in the center of the ball, it emitted a bright light and then standing in front of spider was a small blue and white cat-thing.

Spider grabbed the cat-thing and held it in his arms. "Sylveon!" He yelled, "Use protect!"

A barrier appeared between the Sill-bee-on and the boulder, successfully stopping them from being smooshed.

Spider let out a breath. "Aight, Syl? Use hyper beam."

The Shrilly-Lawn opened it's mouth and shot out a beam of light, obliterating the boulder.

Bruce let out a sigh. He leaned against the wall of the sewer, reminding himself to change as soon as he could, because ick! But for now, he was safe.

"How did you make something like that?" Bruce panted between words, hands now on his knees.

"It's hard to explain without a visual." Spider shrugged. "I can probably show you back at Mr. Stark's lab."

"That would be lovely."

Spider was still holding the Silly-tree-lawn, but now it moved to curl up around the young hero's neck. The masked man reached to scratch it behind the ear before turning back to Bruce. "We should probably start heading back."

"Agreed," Stark groaned, his face wrinkling, "This place is horrible."

"Mr. Stark, it's a sewer."

"Yeah, yeah, I know."

The rest of the walk to through the sewer was filled with Spider's rambling and Tony's sarcastic remarks. The two almost made the walk bearable. Almost.

It was still a sewer, after all.
