After Kira had been kicked out of Blue Lock, the team began training with less than adequate facilities.

However that still didn't stop Ryu from excelling in plenty of exercises.

Not only was he at an impressive height of 6'3, his athleticism seemingly knew no bounds. On the treadmill, he kept pace with Raichi, managing to get ahead by a minute.

JINGO "SHARK TEETH" RAICHI!!

Raichi: WHAT?!! THERE'S NO WAY YOU CAN RUN LONGER THAN I CAN!!!

Ryu: You've got a lot of endurance Raichi. That'll be helpful in a game.

He walked away after saying this. This seemed to aggravate him even more. Next, he went to test his vertical jump. Joining him was another player.

???: Care for a little competition?

WATARU "Don't Trust Closed Eyes" KUON

Fang: I refuse to give an image to complete trash.

Ryu: Sure, I don't really mind.

They got in place to jump, as once they did, Ryu showed and incredible leap of 100 centimeters -Or 39 inches for normality-.

Ryu: Argh, damn. I forgot to swing my arms.

Kuon: ... Huh?

Ryu: Oh well, I'll remember next time.

He walked off, with everyone somewhat envious. One individual with orange hair was particularly dumbfounded.

RENSUKE "THE HERO" KUNIGAMI!!

Kunigami: The guy's tall, can run forever, AND jumps like a rabbit? What's next, is he gonna bench-

Before he could even finish that sentence, everyone saw Ryu move the the bench press, getting up 225 pounds.

Kunigami: -_- I'll just not say anything anymore.

???: Woah, you're doing great!!

Ryu looked at the boy who's number was 290.

MEGURU "BEST BOI" BACHIRA!!

Ryu: Uhhh, thanks? This isn't really my max.

TIME SKIP!!

In light of recent events, Ego had changed the rankings of the Blue Lock players.

And much to his pleasure, Ryu was at the top of the food chain. While that was said, Ego explained how the First Selection would go. The top 2 teams would move on to the 2nd Selection, while only the top scorers of the 3 losing teams would progress.

Ryu: 'So it really is just about scoring. Which means the teams are gonna be a dysfunctional mess. The only way to bring us together, even a little bit, is for someone to score first and have everyone actually want to pass to them.'

As everyone decided on rock paper scissors to decide who would choose what position, Ryu absentmindedly threw out rock, actually winning the game.

Raichi: WHAT?!!!

Ryu: O_O Oh. I guess I'll be center forward.

Soon enough all positions were decided, as Team Z went to face Team X. While they did, Ryu looked at Bachira and Isagi.

Ryu: You two.

Isagi: Huh?

Ryu: I've seen both of you play, so I'm probably gonna be looking for you two to pass to me a lot.

Bachira: You got it monster!

Ryu: O_O Monster?

They got onto the field, as once the game started, Isagi immediately passed to Ryu.

Ryu: '*Sigh* Alright, this is gonna be my first time scoring in a while.'

The others teams players ran towards him, as they seemed to be in slow motion to the teen. He took a breath, and closed his eyes.

Ryu: Alright, here-

When he opened them, the ball was immediately taken from under his foot by Raichi, shocking him.

Ryu: '... You fucking what?'

Isagi: What are you doing Raichi?!

Raichi: Rules are the top scorer goes through even if we lose. I don't care about the team, I'm surviving this my own way!

Kunigami: You're speaking my language punk.

Kunigami immediately stole the ball from Raichi as well. This caused a domino effect, as the teams went for the ball, as almost everyone wanted to take it for themselves.

Ryu: 'Did this mother fucker just steal the ball from me?'

A single player had gotten through, taking the ball for himself.

???: If you're smart you'll move. Or I'll kill you.

SHOUEI "THE KING" BAROU!!

He did a heel flick to get past Isagi, which impressed most watching.

Ryu: 'No seriously, I literally showed I'm the best on the team and he really just took the fall from my foot as I closed my eyes?'

Barou did a double nutmeg, before scoring.

Score: 1-0 Team X

Barou: Listen suckers, and remember these words. When I play the ball isn't my friend or any nonsense like that. It's merely spherical servant that exist solely so I can shine. Whenever I'm out in the field: I'm the King.

Isagi: 'Is it even possible to beat a player like that?'

Arguing had started over the goalie Lemon not defending the goal as well. Ryu walked forward with his hair covering his eyes.

Ryu: Hey.

Raichi: What do you want Mr Center Forward?!!

Raichi turned to Ryu, only for his soul to be chilled by a stare so frightening, even Death would shake.

Ryu: I'm gonna make this clear. If you EVER, steal the ball from me again.

Ryu stood directly in front of Raichi, staring him dead in the eye.

Ryu: You're screwed.

Bachira: 'HE'S SCARY!!'

They placed the ball down, with Ryu looking to Bachira without a word. He passed to him, and this time no one even thought to approach him, in fear he would make do on his threat.

Ryu: 'Note to self, keep eyes open for good. Now...'

He looked up, with a glint coming off of his eyes.

HIT THE MUSIC!!

Ryu: 'Time to make good on my promise Azure.'

Isagi: 'Here he goes. Ryu's first touch.'

At speeds no one expected, Ryu blitzed past the first five players.

Ryu: '5 down.'

Isagi: Woah, he's fast too!!

3 other players charged towards him, as Ryu came to a complete halt, before starting his run again, getting himself and the ball past.

XP1: Are you kidding me?!

XP2: He stopped moving and then sped up again?!

Ryu: '8 down.'

Kunigami: 'He's not just super fast, he can change his pace like a pro!!'

Ryu dribbled the ball forward, with Barou and another team X player there trying to stop him.

Barou: Think you can get past me?!!

Ryu: Think? Please, you're asking like there's any other option.

Ryu as he neared one Team X player got past after doing a feint to the right, before getting in front of Barou, stopping quickly.

Ryu: You're good, but not nearly enough to compete.

Barou was surprised by this, before Ryu nutmegged him as well.

Ryu: Compared to me, you're not even a flash.

Ryu: 'Man, how long has it been...'

He kicked, as the ball swerved into the left side of the net.

Ryu: 'Since I've felt the exhilarating feeling of a Goal?!'

Score: 1-1

Isagi: 'H-Holy crap...'

Bachira: 'He basically took on the entire team X.'

Raichi: 'All by himself.'

Ryu walked past Barou, not sparing a second glance as he spoke.

Ryu: I don't care if you're a king, or a clown. Anyone who stands in the way of my victory is gonna be crushed.

Team Z looked at him, wanting to be jealous, but at the same time in awe of his skill.

Kuon: 'So he's got nutty range too?'

Ryu: 'Looks like our goals were just what we needed to step away from 0. It's 1, but a start nonetheless.'

The game began to progress, as Team Z began to become more ordered.

Barou: 'That bastard thinks he's the star of the show!! I'll show him!!!' GIVE ME THE BALL!!!

A Team X player passed the ball too Barou, but before he could get to it, Ryu was there to intercept in a flash.

Ryu: If you're gonna try and get the ball, at least try to make it hard for someone to steal.

He ran forward to the goal, stopping once he was inside the penalty box.

Isagi: 'This time it's closer!'

Ryu kicked hard, scoring a second time.

Score: 2-1 Team Z

Once coming down the field, as Team X seemed to struggle to get the ball around, as now that Barou seemed to be being marked by Ryu, no one knew who to pass to.

Ryu: 'Hmph. It's all pretty simple. Now that the head is cut off, out of 10 others, no one knows who should call the shots. And once that happens.'

Bachira stole the ball as Team Z moved forward.

Ryu: 'Chaos takes over.'

They ran down, as Bachira passed to Ryu.

XP4: OH NO YOU DON'T!!!

As soon as Ryu got the ball, the player went in front of him.

Ryu: 'Please, it's not like I'm gonna forget the role I'm used to playing.'

He kicked the ball to the side, finding Isagi.

Isagi: 'This is it! I'm gonna score a goal!!'

Isagi was about to kick, but found Barou gunning it towards him. As he did, as if a mental image came into his mind, and an instinct kicked in, Isagi passed the ball away, and over to Kunigami.

Ryu: 'What the-?!!'

Kunigami kicked hard, and ended up scoring. Once he did, Ryu walked over.

Ryu: What was that?!

Isagi: I-I don't-

Ryu: You we're set up perfectly! Barou wasn't gonna get there in time and you just passed up a shot?!

Kuon: Lay off him! We scored didn't we?!

Ryu: This isn't about scoring in this case! The only thing I hate more than a missed goal is a goal not attempted!

Speaker: Team Z, please get back to playing the game!

Ryu: Grrr, listen, if you're not at least gonna give scoring a good attempt first after my pass, then you damn well just better pass it back!!

He ran back on defense, while Isagi was still shocked.

Isagi: 'Th-That pass... It was completely accidental.'

Ryu: 'Even though Kunigami scored, I just don't get it. Did... Isagi see something I somehow couldn't?'

He shook his head.

Ryu: 'I'll figure that out later. Right now...'

A thought in the back of his mind made his slightly smile.

Ryu: 'I'm gonna score at least 6 more goals myself.'

The game progressed, as it became increasingly difficult for anyone to stop Ryu.

Ryu: 'Mediocre player's aren't gonna stop me.'

Even with people trying to tackle him left and right, he still managed to get past, and score the ball another 5 times.

Bachira: 'Wow! I thought I found one guy with a monster like Isagi, but Ryu must be like his own kind of monster!!'

Barou charged forward angrily with the ball.

Barou: 'You damn Donkey!!! I won't lose to some no name player!!!'

Ryu stopped in front of Barou, who tried to nutmeg him.

Ryu: Please, your moves are completely televised to me.

He changed his footing, stealing the ball, shocking Barou.

Barou: 'H-HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!!'

Ryu went past Barou, smirking.

Ryu: Thanks for helping someone reignite my flame. King.

He kicked the ball further down field, as with explosive speed, he caught up to it. Stopping at the 26 meter mark, be kicked, as the Goalie didn't react in time, allowing Ryu to score a final goal.

Score: 9-1 Team Z

Team X all were exhausted, as Ryu walked forward, looking at all of them.

Ryu: '... This is a new feeling.'

Team X looked at him, seeing a smile start to form on his face.

Ryu: 'The feeling of crushing every single player's view of greatness with my very own goals is amazing! I could get addicted to this!!'

Ego watched the game, as a grin started to spread across his face.

Ego: Now THAT, is something special. Ryu Kaizen has just proven he belongs here more than most other people.

Ego replayed the moves he's shown.

Ego: The entire team was helpless to try and stop him. Scoring 6 consecutive goals without so much as thinking to pass to anyone else. His vision on the field is nothing short of a God given gift, and his raw talent to be a Striker is simply something more.

Ryu walked over to Team Z who celebrated.

Ryu: Great game guys. Let's keep a winning streak going alright?

Bachira: Yeah, let's!!

Naruhaya: Pass to me too next time alright?!

Ryu: If you can score.

They all went to the locker room, as once refreshed, Ryu was the first to charge out.

Ryu: COME ON COME ON COME ON!!

Kunigami: Where's he off to?

Isagi: The cafeteria it looks like.

They all followed him, interested to see what could drive the boy to sprint even faster than he did in the game, if possible.

Ryu: YES!!!

They ran into the cafeteria, seeing Ryu with a phone in hand.

Ryu: SWEET RELIEF!!!

Bachira: A PHONE?!!!

Raichi: How'd you get that?!!

Ryu: My prize for scoring 3 goals!! If I had to spend more than a few days without video games I might've gone nuts!! And the icing on top-

He took a plate, showing a steak that made the mouths of the other Team Z players water.

Isagi: STEAK!!!

Ryu: This is just 1 point, but so worth it! Hello victory!!

Gagamaru: Let us in on it too!

Ryu: Like I said, I'll pass to however I see can make the goal. If you just do your best to get into position, you'll get chances. Til then-

He took a bite of his steak smirking.

Ryu: Just leave it to me!
