New face old face

~~~ I was right. And I have this story figured out now. A tiny bit. It'll still be hard because I'll make someone mad. It will probably be me.
The next day we were on the train and about to go to Resembool. I honestly do not think I ever went back. I liked it though the town was peaceful and quite. Now that I think about I should have gone back.
Major Armstrong was coming with us and Hughes had come to see us off.
"If you go by Central feel free to stop and say hello."
"And be sure to tell Mustang that he owes me," I said leaning out the window.
"Owes you what?" Hughes asked.
"A game."
Ed pulled me back from the window and I landed on my butt. Usually I only came to see the Colonel to play board games. Ed and Major Armstrong saluted to Hughes as the train pulled off.
"Major where's Al?"
The Major seemed a bit shocked that I spoke to him.
"With some sheep."
"Oh lucky. I wanna pet the sheep."
I stretched out on the seat and started dozing off. It was getting late and I was tired. I was sleeping good until the train stooped. After falling out of the seat I was fully awake.
"Dr. Marcoh? Is that you?" The Major called out the window.
I sat up in time to see a man run off. He looked sacred like his very existence was on the line.
"Who was that?" Ed asked.
"That was Dr. Marcoh. He used to work on the military but one day he went missing taking some important documents with him."
"Major we're getting off here."
The Major and I followed Ed off the train. We got Al too and then were off to find Dr. Marcoh.
The Major drew a sketch of him and only showed it to one person before we found him. Not surprisingly Armstrong was good at drawing. Marcoh was a doctor in the town. People had nothing but good things to say about him. What was most interesting though was that he used alchemy to heal people.
When we got to the door Ed was one to knock. He was quite rude not waiting for the man to open the door and almost got shot.
"What do you want from me? Are you here to take me back?" Marcoh shouted at us.
"No we-,"
"I'm not going back!"
After losing his patience Armstrong threw Al at Marcoh. We got inside and the Major and Marcoh started talking as if they had known each other somewhat well.
"What were you researching?" The Major asked Marcoh.
"The Philosophers stone."
"You have one here with you?" Ed asked.
Marcoh pulled out a small vile with a red liquid inside of it.
"It's a liquid but I thought it was a stone."
Marcoh poured the stone out onto the table. It formed the shaped of a small stone. Marcoh and Ed started talking more about it while Armstrong and I listened.
"Major who is this boy?"
"He's a state alchemist."
From there Ed explained the taboo. They tried bringing their mother back. Ed lost two limbs while Al lost his entire body that night.
Marcoh told Ed multiple times that he would not give him the notes for a stone then we were kindly asked to leave.
I was glad. Ed was going to be upset when he knew how a stone was made. Making a stone was something I did remember.
Ed seemed okay with not knowing though. He claimed that he would find another way. When the train came Marcoh came and gave Ed the location of the notes. That got Ed excited to go to Central.
Then we were officially on our way to Resembool. This time I was sure not fall asleep. Instead I passed time by looking at the scenery outside the window. It all looked somewhat familiar. But I am certain everything has changed in Resembool by now.
Arriving at our final stop I saw that everything looked pretty much the same to me. We were going straight to the mechanic. Looking off in the distance I tried to remember where I met Ed and Al. There was a hill not too far away. That had to be the place, but I remember there was a house.
"A doggy!" I screamed.
The dog ran away from me before I even got close to it. I guess I would to if some crazy girl came running up to me. The dog had me running around in circles. I almost did not notice the lady speaking to everyone else. Suddenly something flew by my head and barely missed. After it bounced off Ed's head I saw that it was a wrench.
"I told you to call before you came!"
There was a really scary girl on the balcony. How was the dog running from me? The girl, Winry I think, went even crazier when she saw Ed's destroyed automail. Then the old lady claimed that his leg needed fixing too. The short one grew a bit.
"So how long will it take? A week?" Ed asked.
"Don't underestimate us," the old lady said. "Give us three days."
"Wow that's amazing! Only three days?" I exclaimed.
Winry and the old lady got to work. Since everyone was working I did not want to be in the way. So I decided that I would go and find that place.
"You want to go back to where you met us?"
"Yeah. I think it was on this hill we passed by but I didn't see the house."
"I'll take you there after I make a stop."
Ed, me, and the dog began our long walk. On the way there we met some people with some sheep who apparently knew Ed. Then we went to a graveyard. The place was deserted except for us.
"Trisha... Was she the pretty lady?"
"She was our mother."
The one they tried to bring back. I walked away from the graveyard to another place. When I got to the top of the hill that I had been looking at I saw a pile of burnt wood. This had been the place.
"We burned it down after I became a State Alchemist. With it gone all we can do is move forward."
For some reason I felt sad inside. I never felt sad about anything else. I think.
"I'm going back. All this sentimental stuff is bringing me down."
I ran back to the house and made it just in time for dinner. After that I went to bed. Which I insisted that I would be fine on the floor so I slept beside Al's crate.
On the second day I was bored and went back to the graveyard. I looked at all the headstones examining each name when I came to one familiar one. Rockbell. Winry parents? I never saw them so I just assumed it was. And the year of death was during the Ishbalan Civil War. That's when my mood was brought back down and I went back to the house. Just one more day.
Well one day to me anyway. For Ed it must have felt like weeks since he kept bothering Winry. I was fine though the quite life never bothered me.
"Ed are you sure you want to go find the Philosopher's Stone? Can't you guys find another way?"
"Maybe but the Philosopher's Stone is our only choice right now."
Day three. Winry had been working non stop on Ed's arm. She had made it herself but I still wish someone could have helped her so she could sleep. When she finished I was half sleep in a corner. Finally the two brothers were fixed. Unfortunately we had to leave the peaceful life for Central. Why did Marcoh have to give Ed the idea of a philosophers stone? It's only been used for destruction.
~~~~ I think that's a good place to stop. I did just spend most of my free time writing this.
