"Surprise!" Mrs and Mr Walker yelled, getting their son's attention. "Mom?! Dad?!" Jay yelped in shock. "We're like ten thousand feet up in the sky-" "Actually, we're twenty two thousand five hundred eighty seven feet up in the sky." Zane corrected. Jay face palmed, letting out an annoyed sigh. "How did you even get up here?"
"Oh, that sweet little doll gave us an invitation to come." Mr Walker answered. "We told her that we would wait for you to give a call, but she was very persistent." He added. "That didn't explain how you got here." Jay groaned in frustration, walking away.
(Y/n) peaked her head out, slowly walking towards the elderly couple. "There you are dearie!" Edna pulled the girl into a tight hug, causing her to become flustered. "Ah, hello." "Where is that old man taking care of my son?" She asked, pulling away from the girl.
"Sensei Wu is currently out, we are unaware of when he will return." Zane answered, getting an exaggerated gasp from Edna. She looked at (Y/n), placing her hands on her cheek. "Did those boys do anything to you, is that why you needed us to come by, is this a cry for help, blink twice if yes!" Out of confusion, the teen girl blinked twice.
Edna let out a small cry, pulling (Y/n) closer to her chest. "You boys should be ashamed of yourselves, taking advantage of a beautiful young lady!" She yelled, causing the three ninja to become confused as well. "Jay, we raised you better than this!" "Ma, what are you even talking about?" Jay asked, confused with the rest of his team.
"Ed, say something!" Ed flinched a bit at his wife's yelling, turning back to the boys. "Ahem- Well, I know that at this time of age you boys get certain urges, but that don't mean you should force yourself onto this beautiful young lady." Realization hit them like a car, the ninja now flustered.
"Wait wait wait, there's been a HUGE misunderstanding." Cole stated, his whole body burning with embarrassment. "Let us properly explain." "(Y/n), stop making up lies." Kai hissed.
"Um, I am very confused as to what is accuring at the moment." (Y/n) finally said, gently pushing away from Edna. "But rest assure, these four did nothing to harm me, yet." She stated. The older woman let a sigh of relief. "That's good to know, but as of today, I'm staying with you until you have another adult here to keep watch."
(Y/n) shrugged with a small smile on her face. She didn't need protection, and she doubts Edna would be able to protect her. Though, hearing the lady say she would stay just to make her feel more safe gave her a warm feeling inside.
___
Wu helped his brother up to the higher cliff, letting out a small grunt. "How is my son?" Lord Garmadon asked, pushing his brother away once he was on his feet. "Currently, he is the Serpentine's hostage." Wu sensed his brother's anger. "In other words, she failed." Garmadon growled. "She's gotten lazy."
"Who is that girl, why is she with you?" Wu asked, quickly changing the subject. The corrupt lord gave a wicked smile, side eyeing his brother. "I believe your feelings would get in the way if I were to tell you who she was." He stated. "Though, I would have thought you figured out who she was by now."
The statement only confused the spinjitzu master. "The long search of a lost element our father sought to destroy, now found in this young girl." Wu's blood ran cold, looking up at his brother with widen eyes. "You don't mean-" "And so the prophecy of the cursed child nears."
The cursed child was in a lot of prophecies, all of them not ending good. "Are you sure she is the one, both you and I saw when father destroyed..." He couldn't finish his sentence, feeling the guilt catch up to him. "Myra." Garmadon finished, his mood souring of the mention of her. "Well, have you ever considered the possibility that she passed on her element." He theorized.
"If you didn't notice, she used only a bit of her strength for her final battle, that only ever happens when an elemental master willingly gives their power or has given birth." Garmadon laughed, watching his brother's face twist with regret. "Knowing the type of woman she is, I doubt she would have given up her power to a stranger." The Dark Lord laughed, finding amusement of the thought. "Father unknowingly made an orphan."
The two walked in silence, Wu drowning in guilt and Garmadon enjoying his brother's suffering.
___
(Y/n) looked at the bubbly water she was in. Bubbles floated around her, she stared in awe, before getting water dumped above her. "Did I get soap in your eyes?" Edna asked worriedly. "The soap is the thing you are putting in my hair, correct?" She asked, slowly opening her eyes again.
"Haha, you're a funny girl, my son, Jay, is funny, I think you two would get along without a hitch." (Y/n) didn't say anything, not wanting to upset the lady. "I did not mean to say anything humorous but I am glad you are happy." Edna smiled. "I've always wanted a daughter, would you mind if I treated you as my daughter?"
There was a painful throb in (Y/n)'s chest. "Ah, I... If it makes you happy, call me what you like." Edna grabbed a towel, placing it in (Y/n)'s reach. "I left some extra clothes on the sink when you're ready to get out." "Where are my clothing?" She asked, turning her body to look at the elderly woman.
"If you think I'll let you keep wearing those dirty clothes you got another thing coming." (Y/n) hummed in acknowledgment. "Now, get dressed up." She said that like she was planning on taking her somewhere.
(Y/n) left the tub full of water once Edna left, using the towel to dry her hair. She looked in the mirror in front of her, seeing all the scars that littered her body. "Hm.." Quickly she put on the shirt given to her, not wanting to look at her failures.
As soon as she was finished, she entered the dining room, seeing a table full of food. "I made some pie and other things, sweetheart, eat up." (Y/n) hesitantly sat down, staring at the pie. "Thank you for the food." She says. "Though I am not particularly hungry, I have noticed the master of earth eats quite frequently, I am sure he would enjoy it."
Edna frowned, not liking that the girl refused to eat, but otherwise said nothing about it. "So, what do you think of the ninja, ain't it exciting to be living with future heros of ninjago?" She asked, not supressing her emotions. "Exciting would not be the word I would use."
Speak of the devil, the group of ninja entered, Cole immediately diving in for the pie. "Oh, I guess you were right." Edna giggled, confusing Cole but eating happily anyway.
"Mrs. Walker, how would you like to take (Y/n) home with you?" Kai offered, getting yelled at by Jay. "WHAT! I thought we agreed that's not what we would be doing!" "I mean, she already bonded with her, it makes sense."
Again, Edna frowned as she watched the group argue, yet, (Y/n) said nothing, not even bothered by the fact that Kai didn't want her here.
Edna slammed her fists on the table, causing everyone to freeze. "I have an idea, why don't you youngins go to Mega Monster Amusement Park." She suggested, with a smile but glaring eyes that made everyone shiver.
"Not to challenge your authority, but I-" Edna cut her off, pushing the five off the bounty, that had just landed. "Go, shoo, have fun." They all groaned when the woman was out of sight. "This is gonna be a long day." Cole stated.
___
(Y/n) clung onto Zane, slightly wobbly after the ride they got on. "How about we go on that ride next?" Kai teased, pointing to the second largest roller-coaster. The girl only glared, pushing off of Zane to stand, only to fall on her butt. "How about giving (Y/n) a small break." Cole stated. "They got an arcade, we can go there."
As they entered the arcade, (Y/n) looked around curiously. "So colorful." She cooed, looking at all the lights. "Alright someone babysit the big baby, I'm not going to be blamed if we lose her." Kai said, already leaving before they had a say in the matter.
"I'm not doing it, I've seen her play, she sucks." Jay answered. "Okay, so then you take Zane and I take (Y/n)." Cole compromised. "Wait no, you take Zane, I'd rather have someone who sucks at games rather than getting destroyed every second."
"While I appreciate the compliment, it seems we have already lost (Y/n)." Zane stated, watching his two brothers look around in a panic. "Ma's gonna kill me!" Jay yelped.
Meanwhile, (Y/n) explored around the arcade. Watching as both children and adults played. One particular machine that interested her was the one that had a weapon. Picking it up, she pulled the trigger, confused when nothing shot out of it.
"Oh (Y/n), there you are." Jay huffed, out of breath. The girl place the weapon against his forehead and pulled the trigger, still nothing. "Did... Did you just try and shoot me?" "...No." She awkwardly answered, putting the weapon back in its coaster.
"Well, stay close to me, if we go back to the bounty without you, I'll never hear the end of it, my parents will keep going on and on about how irresponsible I was and then just begin to ramble about other thing-" (Y/n) walked away, already bored with the conversation. "Hey! Stop doing that!" Jay followed after her.
The next game she got attached to was something with arrows on it. "Dance till you break?" "If you're asking me to dance with you, the answer is no." Jay answered. "Why would I ask you to dance, it says it will break you if we do that."
Jay face palms, groaning. "(Y/n) its an arcade game." (Y/n) hummed in acknowledgment, nodding a bit. "Of course, so um... what is an arcade?" "You know what, Zane would've been less annoying to deal with." Jay let out a sigh, looking straight into the girl's eyes. "Everything in here is just a game, nothing here can actually kill someone, arcade is just a place where theres a lit of games." He explained.
"Then let's play." She said, standing one the arrows. "How do I start?" Jay inserted a quarter. "Pick a song you want to dance to." (Y/n) awkwardly stood there. "Okay? Just get off for a bit, let me do it for you." Jay pushed her gently to the side, randomly picking a song for her, setting the difficulty to easy. "There, now just match the arrows on the screen."
(Y/n) nodded but was still a bit slow as she would look at the screen then down at the arrows to step on, not knowing she had already missed. Jay cringed a bit, getting second hand embarrassment.
Once the song finish, words on the screen appeared 'nice try'. "I did good!" She cheered, hopping a bit from excitement. Jay blushed slightly when she grabbed a hold of him. "What else could we do?" "Um uh, pvp?" (Y/n) nodded, following the blue ninja. "So, what is a pvp?"
They stopped at another machine, one called 'Combat of Mortality'. "One on one combat, in game, not actual one on one." He clarified, afraid she would just jump at him ready for a fight. "Ah, so I press these to fight?" He nodded, pressing start. "Just pick a character." Jay picked his favorite, a god that as electrifying powers.
"What pawn do you recommend?" "Eh, for you I think you'd like that one." He pointed at a female charater, her whole attire was pink, she looked human apart from the razor sharp teeth she had.
Once the screen read fight, Jay was the fight to hit. The game didn't last long as he won both matches with a flawless victory. "That was entertaining!" She yelled, causing the ninja to flinch. "What next?" The girl was too hyper, it quickly drained away at his energy. Or maybe it was because this is the longest he's ever been with a girl, and she willing wanted to be with him.
"I'm hungry, you hungry, let's go eat." He quickly said, leaving the arcade. She continued to follow him, which was shocking.
They both entered a restaurant, taking a sit, the waiter giving them their menus. "Is this our food?" Jay laughed a little, before answering her question. "Read what's on there and pick what you like." "Nothing on here is to my preference." "Well starve than, I'm eating." (Y/n) put her menu down, looking around and admiring the decor.
Jay got his plate of food while (Y/n) only asked for water. "So, about Lloyd, are you worried?" Jay asked, making conversation after an unbearable silence. "What should worry me, the serpent has held up his end, I am in no rush to come to his aid." They were doing her job for her, and she enjoyed the peace.
"Okay, yeah, but what if they're toturing him, or he's already dead?!" He was overreacting, but only because (Y/n) was so calm. "If that happened, I suppose I would have failed in my mission." She shrugged. "But that is a worst case scenario, that serpent would not go back on his word." "Serpent." Jay emphasized. "Never trust a snake."
(Y/n) finally looked at him, her eyes dead, causing him to shiver. "I do not judge by race, only by actions of both present and past." She took a sip fron her drink before continuing. "How many times have you lied to your guardians that you would visit?" "That has nothing to do with this, and I don't have time to visit." "Getting aggressive and defensive about it only proves my point more." Jay didn't say anything more.
A boy around the same age as them walked over, sitting beside (Y/n). "Hey girly." He cooed, sliding an arm around her waist. "Do you know him?" Jay aksed, feeling like a third wheel, but also relieved that he got out of the conversation. "Does it look like I would converse with him?" She didn't know the guy, but it didn't look like she was bothered by how close he was.
"Want to get outta here?" Jay notice the group beside them holding in there laughter, assuming this guy was dared to approach them.
"Well Jay, this is a time to prove you aren't as bad as I think you are." She stated, smiling at him. But what was he supposed to do, the guy looked stronger than him.
(Y/n) let out a sigh, disappointment hinted in there. "Would you mind letting me go, I would give you a reason, but I can't bother to come up with an excuse." When the guy didn't move fast enough, she pushed him out of the way.
The group beside them bursted out laughing, while Jay hurriedly got up and ran after the girl. "I told you to stop leaving like that." "What? That was the only time I left after pushing someone off me... that you know of." She answered. "No I mean- Ugh! Why are you acting like this now?" He exclaimed, gripping at his hair.
"I thought we having a good time and you chose now to act out." (Y/n) turned to look at him, her eyes narrowed. "It was fun, until you brought up Lloyd and the Serpentine." Jay let go of his hair.
"One villian does not represent the entirety of a race." She stated. "Yeah, but what did the Serpentine do after being released, they raided a village." It was only for candy and no property was destroyed by them but still. "A logical thing to do to the ones who've imprisoned them."
(Y/n) took a few steps towards the blue ninja. "Alright, how about another example." Jay gulped, backing away until his back hit the wall. "That guy only came to me as a joke, but his mind was littered with filth." There faces were inches away from eachother and Jay grew flustered by the second. "That was not the only encounter I had similar to that, so by your logic, I am to think all men think of is a way to taint a woman's body, correct?"
Jay couldn't think of anything, what could he say. But she didn't understand the difference, she was raised in a world of evil, how could he expect her to understand. "You don't get it." Is all he came up with. (Y/n) backed away, looking down at the ninja.
She gave him a small pat on the head. "I think nothing less of you, even if you are baised." Giving him a small smile, Jay felt his chest errupt with warmth. "I succeeded in having fun, you helped complete my mission, thank you." That confused him, but he refocused on her smile. "I had fun too." He said, the blush calming down but still there.
Just then, the pair heard children screaming of fear, running out of a poorly looking tunnel. "That ride was never scary, come on, let's check it out." (Y/n) stopped him, pointing to the riggid roller coaster. "I would rather you deal with that and I deal with this." "Awe, but that means I have to save that stupid Samuria." Even though he complained, he still complied to the girl's order.
___
Nya was the mysterious Samuria, Jay unlocked his true potential, the Serpentine had the first fangblade, and Cole was mad that Zane beat him in every game they played.
"Since being kidnapped, have they done anything to you?" (Y/n) asked, tilting Nya head, checking her arms, making sure her weight was the same. The Samuria only giggled, pushing (Y/n) away. "They only kept me in a cage, oh, and Lloyd is fine too." She added. "Of course he is."
"Oh, Nya dear, how are you?" Edna asked, as she watched the teens aboard the bounty. "Mrs. Walker? I'm good." Nya turned to (Y/n). "Why are Jay's parents on the bounty?" "Something about making sure they do not take advantage of a young lady." Nya stiffled a laugh, getting smacked on the head by Kai.
Jay stopped (Y/n), wanting to talk with her alone. "Hey, so... sorry about lashing out at you, you've got you're own opinions on things, I shouldn't expect you to understand everything I said in one day." She let out a sigh. "No need for an apology, you helped me in my mission that is enough for me, ninja."
He stopped her again, holding on to her hand. "Ya know, you can just call me by my name." She hasn't said any of there names before, or at least she hasn't said them in front of him. (Y/n) paused a bit, looking a bit hesitant. "Okay... Jay."
